No, everything doesn’t get wet if the bathroom is well-designed and the fixtures are properly installed. It’s important that the floor of a wet room drains correctly, and proper waterproofing and slip-resistant flooring are used to avoid creating slipping hazards. Laminate flooring should be stacked horizontally and laid flat to avoid any warping or stress to the boards. To stack it, you should do so in a grid with each row of flooring packages positioned at a 90-degree angle to the layer beneath it. This will provide the best support so the flooring will not sag in the middle.

Using too much soap or floor cleaner can leave your laminate floors looking dirty or cloudy after mopping. Only use a teaspoon of soap or cleaning solution in a gallon of water. Additionally, always be sure to sweep or vacuum laminate floors before mopping to ensure you pick up dried grit, hair, and dust that can be harder to catch with a wet mop.

In a wet room, you need a floor that won’t sustain damage with constant exposure to water, but your options are normally the same as with a bathroom. Ceramic and porcelain tile are suitable options, as are natural stone like granite and marble, much like in a standard bathroom. Since a wet room’s floor is more likely to be wet, you should choose a flooring option with some texture to reduce how slippery the material gets.

The type of flooring you plan to install will determine if it goes in before or after the cabinets. It's okay to swap the order in many cases. However, hardwood floors, sheet materials, and tile often go down before the cabinets go in. Floating floors like laminate or luxury vinyl planking should go down after the cabinets are in place.
