"Arrived a day late, indicating that they "had been out late the night before". Removed the sub-floor on day 1/2 and found that the sub floor was 5/4 instead of the 3/4 that they had planned. Except they didn't bother telling ME that until the last day and advised that they could fix the 1/2 step running down the middle of my living room and kitchen for twice the price. I spent $400 and 5 days on my hands and knees fixing this problem. Damage done to walls that was not repaired, 2 doors need to be re-hung, siding removed from the back of the house (other option was the demolition of most of my kitchn cabinets) that is still not hung back up. Most days for the crew started at around 9:30-10:00 and ended about 3:30 in the afternoon. Did I mention that my wife and I were in a local hotel for then entirety of the repair process. To say that I am very unhappy with my experience with Foundation recovery systems would be an understatement. I will not refer them and never use them again."

Because it’s faster and uses less materials and energy, resurfacing a driveway is more eco-friendly than replacing it. However, that doesn’t mean it’s always the best option. When deciding between driveway resurfacing vs. replacing, it’s important to consider the age of your driveway and the level of damage. Mix the resurfacer into a sticky mixture. The consistency should look like mashed potatoes. Use a squeegee to push the resurfacer across the pitted area and smoothen the surface with a cement trowel flush. Make sure you protect any expansion joints with a weather strip. Alternatively, cut out any resurfacer that touched the joint once the mixture begins to harden.

A layer of exposed aggregate concrete should be 1 to 2 inches thick if you’re installing it on top of existing concrete. If you’re pouring a new slab with the finish, slab thickness will depend on the application. Exposed aggregate concrete driveways should be 4 to 6 inches thick in most cases or 8 to 12 inches for commercial vehicles. Sidewalks, patios, and walkways should be 4 inches thick.

Clean regularly, reseal every 2-3 years, and avoid abrasive cleaning agents to preserve the finish.
