"Steve Anderson & his associate, Bradley did an excellent job at replacing my liner in my 18’ X 20’ in ground pool. Steve is a professional swimming pool expert in his business of Anderson Pool in Cabot Arkansas that has excellent reviews. He ordered the high quality custom fit pool liner that was manufactured specifically for my pool. When he received the new liner he contacted me to drain the pool and start the procedure of removing and disposing of the old liner. Next he inspected and repaired any and all sub liner repairs as required. The next step was to properly hang the new vinyl liner and start filling the pool. That was the slowest part of the job waiting on a garden hose to fill the pool with 32,000 gallons of water. The stormy weather we experienced during this process didn’t help either. Enclosed is a picture of the completed project that speaks for itself on the quality of work performed by Steve and Bradley of Anderson Pool. Rated 5 out of 5."

A compact unit designed for two to three people typically weighs approximately 500 pounds in its empty state. On the other hand, a larger hot tub meant for up to six people can weigh around 1,000 pounds when empty. Materials used also impact weight. Less expensive hot tubs are typically lighter because they are made of molded plastic or fiberglass.

You can and should use a hose to fill a hot tub. There shouldn’t be anything special about the hose other than it shouldn’t be damaged. Kinks or leaks could slow down the filling process. Attach the hose to the nearest spigot and get the water flowing.

A hot tub cover's lifespan is typically between three and seven years, with an average of five to seven years for a well-maintained one. The quality of the cover is a major factor; lower-quality polyester or vinyl soft covers can tear easily with regular use.

To extend the life of your cover, proper maintenance is key. This includes:

  • Keeping the cover clean, dry, and out of the sun. Use a soft cloth and mild dish soap for cleaning.

  • Applying a vinyl protectant spray.

  • Cleaning the underside with a chlorine spray.

  • Using a cover lift to prevent damage from rough handling.

  • Protecting it from harsh weather.

  • Keeping children and pets off the cover.

Investing in a high-quality cover and checking for a warranty at the time of purchase can also contribute to its longevity.

Generally, it is more cost-effective and energy-efficient to leave your hot tub on all the time rather than turning it on and off. Reheating a hot tub from a cold temperature consumes a significant amount of energy, so maintaining a constant temperature is usually more economical, especially with frequent use.

For daily or weekly use, it's recommended to keep the water at a constant, reduced temperature, such as between 80 and 95 degrees Fahrenheit, and then increase it to your desired temperature before getting in. If you know you won't be using the hot tub for an extended period, you can lower the temperature to save on energy costs. However, if you use it very infrequently, you can turn it off completely, as long as there is no risk of the water freezing.
