At Aspire Homes we offer top notch Remodeling and Handymen work This includes but is not limited to: drywall, painting, floor repair, mounting objects on walls, calking, moving heavy objects, yard work, landscaping etc. At Aspire we encourage all of our handymen to complete each job with dedication, persistence and an eye for detail. We ensure that each homeowner gets high quality workmanship and that the homeowner is completely satisfied by the time we leave the home.

"I had an overall estimate prepared by Jonathan in early July, which was better than the other contractor that had come out. Tristan from Aspire then came out and removed the bad brick molding, installed the flat type of molding that was wanted along with the ledge over the doorway to ensure no rain would be able to get into the top of the storm door when it rains, which was good too. Tristan had to deal with heavy downpours of rain while trying to install the molding. For what he had to deal with, he did good. Tristan remeasured the back door for Jonathan so the proper size of storm door I wanted could be ordered. After aproximately a month and a half I reached out to Jonathan by text to get an estimated time for the door to be installed, but never received a response. Approximately two weeks later I was contacted by Aspire and informed Jonathan had been let go and someone else from Aspire would continue the job. I was then contacted by another worker, Peter, who was very informative even though he had been given very few notes on what still had to be done. Peter came out September 15th and he was able to get information about the storm door being at the Home Depot in Pensacola even though I live in the Fort Walton Beach area. After Peter picked up the door and brought it to the house, he measured my back door and the storm door he picked up to find out the storm for was too big for my doorway (36" door was ordered, my doorway was measured at 29"). Peter returned the storm door to the local Home Depot and had to special order another storm door. Peter kept me informed about what was going on and he would come back out to install the door once it was in at Home Depot and anticipated to install the storm door on October 2nd. I advised Peter I had to be at work by a certain time and he advised he could install it without me being at the house. On October 2nd another worker named Joel, who came out to the house, but I had overslept and did not hear the doorbell. I was contacted by Aspire to reschedule since Joel could not make contact with me. I informed them that I was under the impression Peter would be coming out. They advised Peter was not available and Joel would be the one coming out again on October 5th. When Joel did come out he was only provided minimal notes about replacing molding for a storm door to be installed. He did not know a storm door had been ordered and was to be picked up at the local Home Depot. Once Joel got in contact with Aspire, he went and picked up the storm door and began to install it. I had to leave for work prior to Joel finishing the job, but he provided me a text message later on stating he installed the door and where the keys for the storm for were left. After returning home that night I recovered the keys for the door and looked at storm door. I noticed the frame of the storm door on the latch side was not snug up against the top of the door frame for the storm door and the latch does not catch the plate to stay closed and the storm door has to have the deadbolt extended to keep the storm door from being opened if pulled on without having to turn the handle. This is why I only provided three stars since there was a gap in the process, multiple workers and minimal information that was provided to the workers to keep them informed of the current process of the job being conducted."

Basement Remodel questions, answered by experts

If you don’t have a crawl space but have a partial basement you want to make deeper, you can expect to spend a little less—between $40,000 and $90,000 on average. However, if you’re not adding new finished square footage, you won’t see much in the way of ROI.

It costs an average of $32,000 to finish a basement, and most projects total between $15,000 and $75,000. If you just want to make the space look a bit nicer and don’t need to convert the basement to legal living space, you could spend as little as $3,000 to install drywall and flooring. On the other end of the spectrum, your costs could rise to $100,000 if you want to make structural changes to the space, repair existing structural damage, waterproof your basement, or install a kitchen and bathroom along with living space.

Although it’s not required, air ventilation in a finished basement can help improve the air quality, prevent moisture and mold issues, keep musty odors away, and also maintain the air quality throughout the rest of your home. Proper ventilation will help maintain the value of your investment in finishing your basement. Try basement ventilation methods like installing vents or a dehumidifier for best results.

Some older homes have toilets in the basement to combat sewage backups. This type of toilet, also known as a Pittsburgh potty, acted as a safety valve over the incoming sewer line. If a line backed up, it would back up into the toilet because it was the lowest fixture in the home, keeping it out of sight and away from the finished areas of the house.

Basement toilets were also used by workers with messy jobs, like those who worked in coal mines or steel mills. This way, they could clean up and avoid tracking dirt through their home.

Adding an extension or addition to your home costs more than a loft conversion in all but the rarest cases where the home's structural integrity is lacking. Because a home addition requires a new foundation section or significant structural upgrades to handle a cantilevered portion, the cost compared to almost any loft conversion is significantly greater for the same square footage.
