"Eli did an amazing job doing a custom double door gate for my driveway leading into my backyard. (Wide enough to fit 2 cars inside the gate opening) for size comparison. He used high quality/heavy duty materials constructing the metal frame for my wooden pickets to screw into. The gate is holding up great & showing no signs of wear (itâ s been over a year since he built & installed it). I highly recommend this company for anybody wanting an at home or business project done at a super affordable price."

Wrought Iron questions, answered by experts

As with any project or material, installing wrought iron fencing has advantages and disadvantages. Some pros and cons of this fence material include:

Pros

  • Long lifespan with proper maintenance

  • Very durable

  • Aesthetically pleasing

  • Functional as well as decorative

Cons

  • Requires regular maintenance and cleaning

  • Expensive compared to other fence materials

  • Limited privacy

Vinyl and chicken wire are two of the best and most affordable materials for a DIY garden fence. Vinyl is a great option because it is cost-effective, easy to work with, and effective at keeping pests out. A vinyl fence can cost as little as $15 per linear foot, especially if you install it yourself. Chicken wire is even more budget-friendly, costing as little as $2 per linear foot. While chicken wire is more affordable, vinyl is a better choice if privacy is a concern. You can also add chicken wire on top of a vinyl fence for extra security.

When looking at natural wood fences, you have several options other than cedar, namely: pine and redwood. Compared to cedar, redwood fencing has a deeper, red-brown color, better durability, and a higher price tag. Pine, on the other hand, is one of the most affordable types of wood for fences, but it requires the most maintenance out of the three and has the shortest lifespan.

The most common height of a front yard fence is around 3 feet high, but it can vary depending on your zoning laws. If your fence is meant to create privacy, something closer to 6 feet or higher will do the trick. Most of the time, the highest fence you’ll see is 8 feet tall.

Rust, bent or broken bars, loose posts, and weakened welds are common problems that require repair to maintain security and appearance.
