"Friendly staff came out when they said they would and did a great job. Little pricey, but compared of the ripping out old and replacing, taking weeks to complete the project around the pool and probably mess up the liner of the pool with concrete getting in. This project took half a day and at the end you couldn’t notice that anyone had been there Except the concrete look great and level and all cracks filled in."

"I had to get new gutters and wanted gutter guards. I have a lot of trees and get them cleaned several times a year, but the previous owners did not. So now they have to be replaced. Iâ m on a budget, so I got three quotes. They were all drastically different prices, in my opinion. So Iâ m glad that I took the time to do my research. All the quotes had the same length of gutters and guards, but the pricing was different. And two companies said I needed full or partial fascia board replacement. That was concerning. Before this experience, I didnâ t know what fascia boards were. (They are the boards on the house where the gutters attach, in case you are like me.) How would I know if they needed replacing? unless I could clearly see rot from the ground. Which I couldnâ t. Ron, from Alabama Best Gutter Professionals was the one I chose for the job. He came out and measured the house and inspected my fascia boards. He said they looked good, but when they were installing the gutters if any areas needed to be replaced I would be notified before they continued. He said that sometimes you will find wood that has rotted or begun to rot once the old gutters are removed. At this point, Iâ m really paying attention. With my other two quotes they said I needed to replace some or all. Ron explained how Alabama Best gutter guards worked and did a demo with water, so I could see for myself. The guards did perform better than the others I had seen. And he did all of this without making me feel dumb, which is major in my book. Being a woman and getting quotes for work on my house can be challenging. Ron gave me a quote that was broken down gutters & guards. And put the pricing off to the side, to replace any needed fascia boards. He again said that he didnâ t see any issues, but wanted to let me know the cost by the foot, so there wouldnâ t be any surprises. At the time I was thinking they would end up replacing part, if not all of the fascia boards based on my other prior quotes. But he was a man of his word. . During the installation they found no rotted wood! I was so glad I chose his company to do the job!! He was honest and didnâ t take advantage of the fact that he knew I didnâ t know whether the fascia boards needed replacing or not. I was able to chose a color for the gutters that matched my house and they look great! You canâ t see the guards from the street, they blend in with my roofing. I know I got the best price and the best quality gutters and guards. They used stainless steel seamless gutters and their guards. I never have to clean my gutters again!!! And the stainless steel gutters will last forever! Working with Ron and his company was a great experience. Everyone showed up on time and finished the job when they said they would! And were very polite. The cost was less that what I had budgeted. All around happy with my choice and the service that was provided. I 100% would recommend you call Ron if you need to replace your gutters or just want to add gutter guards. And donâ t forget about the fascia boardsð"

Gutter Repair and Replacement questions, answered by experts

Yes. Excessive pitch in gutters can cause water to flow too rapidly, leading to a decrease in the gutter's water-holding capacity; consequently, during heavy rainstorms, water may awkwardly splash outside the gutters. Ideally, you should aim for a quarter-inch of gutter slope for every 10 feet of gutter run. However, it's important to note that this guideline may vary depending on your home's structure and the type of gutters being installed.

If your gutters get overwhelmed every time it rains, adding an extra downspout is a solution. First, you'll need to decide where to add the downspout. If your current setup only has a single downspout, one option is to place a new one at the opposite end of the gutter. If you already have a downspout at each end, adding a third one in the middle can help to lighten the load.

You can hire a professional to add a downspout yourself by cutting into the existing gutter and attaching the necessary parts, such as an outlet and brackets.

Yes, many homeowners find that seamless gutters are worth the investment. Although they have a higher upfront cost than standard gutters—an average of $2,700 compared to $2,000—their benefits often outweigh the price difference. Seamless gutters last longer, require less maintenance, and are less prone to clogs and leaks due to having fewer seams. In contrast, standard gutters typically have seams every 10 feet, which can leak and require new sealant every one to five years. Additionally, seamless gutters are considered more aesthetically pleasing, come in a variety of colors to match your home, and can improve your home's curb appeal and potential value.

When it comes to which gutter material is better, the choice really boils down to what you're looking for in a gutter system. If saving money is the most important factor, then your best option is to go for aluminum gutters. If longevity and durability are more important to you, then copper gutters could be the best fit. If you want to customize the color of your gutters, aluminum takes the cake, but if you're looking for a more natural appearance, copper might be a better choice.

No—gutters should be designed and properly installed so they are ready to handle any level of rainflow from your roof. If you notice pooling water around your gutters or on the roof, it’s imperative that you contact a gutter repair pro near you—the slope of your gutters could be off and need adjusting.
