"Shane was very professional and detail oriented. He did a great job and paid attention to every detail. I received 3 bids for my project and All in One handyman Services was the best by a long shot. "This small company does outstanding work. The skill level of owner Jeff Chevillet and his assistant Eddie when caulking and painting with trim brushes and rollers was outstanding and the quality of latex paint used was the best. They worked quickly and efficiently with little or no mess, used razor blades to remove any paint on windows and thoroughly cleaned up after the work was complete. They showed up on time and did what they said that they would do. The exterior repairs using 1 x 6, 2 x 6 and hardipanel was quality work done quickly. I highly recommend this company for like work."

A window can fall off a track for a large number of reasons. The most common ones usually involve an issue with the track itself or the wheels that glide along it. The good news is that most window track issues are easy fixes, even for beginner DIYers.

A window may fail because of age, defective mechanisms, or moisture. Depending on the issue, the window may be fixed with simple repairs. Otherwise, you’ll have to invest in replacing it. You can avoid damaged windows but keeping up with window maintenance.   

Bifold windows work by using a track that allows panels to slide to the side and "stack" so they take up minimal space, leaving the largest opening. The sashes connect to each other with butt hinges or concealed hinges and to the window frame with the same type of hinges you’d find on a casement window. Some manual bifold windows also have casement stays or another piece of hardware to keep your windows in place when they’re open.

Most manufacturers have their name imprinted somewhere on the window, such as the spacer bar, hardware, or frame. Other manufacturers will include an identification number printed on the glass itself. If you’re unable to find either of these, then your window was manufactured locally (oftentimes called a “shop window”). 

With a manufacturer name (or even better, the identification number) you can attempt to research the information to find out when the product was made. Keep in mind this won’t tell you when the window was installed on your home, but can get you close.

While plywood will keep winds and debris from shattering your windows from the outside, window film can help protect your windows from the inside. Window film can keep a window from shattering. If your windows break, the film can hold the shards of glass in place, reducing the risk of cuts.

While you may sometimes see window film marketed as "hurricane window film," note that it doesn't provide sufficient hurricane protection on its own. It's no substitute for plywood, storm windows, or hurricane shutters.
