He bought and picked up the materials, relieving me of that extra chore. He also was to replace a few boards on my deck but very quickly discovered that the damage was much more extensive. As I have a bigger problem on my hands I halted the deck project. I did not get bids on this small work, but the price seemed reasonable, given the going rate for labor.
