"Mr. Mendez and his crew were excellent! Communication was great! They took all the old tile flooring up in the kitchen, laundry room, and 1 bathroom then applied a leveling mud. After this they installed all new Laminate water proof flooring in the living room, dining room, kitchen, laundry room, 1 bathroom, and 2 bedrooms. And then they installed quarter round in all these areas. They did a great job of moving big pieces of furniture or appliances around to complete the install. And, they cleaned everything up! They did all of this in 1 1/2 days. Their price was far below any competing contractors. I would hire them again! Outstanding!"

Dust mites feed on dead skin cells, which means your bed is a haven for them. They also like the warmth and humidity in your mattress because that is the climate required for them to survive. No subflooring is perfectly level, but you should never ignore any noticeable floor sagging. Most contractors deem a floor that slopes by a 1/2 inch to 1 inch per 20 feet of floor acceptable. Further investigation is required when the slope or sag is more than one and a half inches.

There are a few different types of finishes to choose from for the final step of the project. 

Water-based polyurethane sealants emit fewer odors and fumes but dry quickly, which can pose a challenge when trying to get a smooth coat. Oil-based polyurethane sealants let out more odors and fumes into the air (it’s especially important to wear a respirator if you choose this type), but they take longer to dry, which can be more forgiving during the finishing step. 

Some may prefer wood oil to polyurethane because rather than creating a layer, it becomes part of the wood. Wood oil takes longer to dry, and is less resistant to wear and tear; however, it creates a natural-looking result by enhancing the grain of the wood. 

Carpet installation costs include carpet type (material, weave), room size, subfloor preparation, and labor costs. Getting multiple quotes provides a clearer picture of expected expenses.

Start by removing any debris, nails, or staples left behind from the old carpet. Next, thoroughly vacuum the subfloor to eliminate dust, dirt, and loose particles. If adhesive residue remains, consider using an adhesive remover or scraper to lift it off gently. You can also use a sander. Finally, wipe down the subfloor using a damp rag to ensure all remaining dirt and residue is gone.
