"Citronelle Lawn and Landscaping does excellent work! Shows up when scheduled, very conscientious and communicates with you every step of the way. My yard looks amazing!! I hired them for fall cleanup (lots of underbrush and overgrowth. They also power washed the concrete areas. it was a yard in much need of attention) and they are now maintaining the yard weekly. I found the pricing very reasonable and the customer service excellent! I am more than pleased with their work! Hire this company! You won't be disappointed!"

Leaf Removal questions, answered by experts

No. Standard homeowners insurance does not cover any kind of lead remediation, focusing instead on sudden, unpreventable events like fires and theft. Many insurance companies will specifically exclude lead paint removal, since it tends to be an expensive and unavoidable project. The exception is if the lead surface is damaged during a covered event (like a flood) and homeowners insurance pays its replacement.

Lead removal is crucial in older homes to eliminate risks of lead poisoning, which can severely affect health, particularly in children, by impacting development and cognitive functions.

If lead is detected in a property, steps should include arranging for professional removal or containment, notifying all occupants, and implementing interim safety measures to reduce exposure.

If your roof was constructed between 1930 and 1970, there’s a possibility that the shingles contain asbestos. If that’s the case, you should hire a professional for repairs and replacement, as they’ll have the necessary equipment to stay safe from such a hazardous and cancer-causing substance. If your home was constructed after this period, it’s unlikely that the shingles in place are toxic. In most cases, asbestos shingles are not recyclable, while standard asphalt shingles are recyclable.

Disposing of old paint, bleach, oil, and fertilizer should be handled by a company that specializes in this kind of waste. Many private junk removal companies do not dispose of these items. Because these materials are hazardous to the environment and dangerous to handle or dispose of improperly, you should confirm with your local municipality about places to take hazardous materials for safe disposal.
