Customers say: Super punctual

"Excellent! Mr Gordon and his coworker were well organized and did every job exactly as requested. Mr. Gordon did the tree cutting on the roof himself. All debris was raked and removed plus the large pile I had been accumulating...all for a small disposal fee. Mr Lorenzo Gordon is a fine gentleman! You can tell he really cares about his customers and doing the job right. He was flexible with scheduling and made sure I knew exactly when he would be here. I will hire him again for ANY lawn service."

"Both individuals I have dealt with are professional and willing to work with you.
They provide landscaping and weed/feed control.
I will add more information after the application but I expect it will go well.  I think they are a little expensive but I am a little out of their area and they have to drive further, so I guess it makes sense.
After the rain finally stopped, they came and did a complete weed and feed on my front and back yard.  I took my dog out of the house so she would not be exposed.
They were very helpful in telling my son all the necessary information;  how long to stay off the grass, to spray the grass the next day, etc.

My yard was a mess---like a total wreck---all weeds.   I liked the father/son team and I would recommend them."

"Mr. Cade arrived on schedule as promised. His work was fine. Unfortunately, we reviewed him based on what he fixed and not on what he broke (since we didn't know about it at the time). However, and this is the part you need to be careful with him about...when he was finished only after the fact did we find out that he did fix the problem with our system but in doing so he fouled up another part of it. Upon contacting him regarding this mess-up his reply was essentially to live with it. He had no suggestions/resolutions on how to fix his mistake. So, that being said, DO NOT REVIEW THIS PERSON UNTIL YOU HAVE CHECKED OUT EVERY TINY DETAIL OF WHAT HE HAS DONE."

Our History Our land clearing and forestry mulching services is a single step process by which undesirable vegetation – trees, brush and stumps – is cut and ground into mulch by mobile machinery. The mulch is spread as evenly as possible over the entire cutting area to retard initial re-growth, prevent erosion, and replenish the topsoil base. Unlike other clearing methods, forestry mulching leaves no brush piles, and there is no burning or scarred land. Damage to “keeper” trees is greatly reduced because forestry mulching protects the vital topsoil layer and delicate “feeder” roots. Additional erosion control is almost never required. The landowner is left with a fresh carpet of mulch, which naturally decomposes into rich topsoil. South Alabama Land Clearing and Forestry Mulching also offers Forestry Tilling (Subsoiling) in addition to Mulching. Forestry Tilling transforms clear cuts etc. into ready to plant farm land. This method is unlike traditional types of land clearing. It grinds up everything beneath the surface using it as fertilizer rather than digging it up and burning it. Our company strongly believes in being environmentally friendly. Our debris is never burned or hauled to dumps or left lying around. We put the nutrients back into the ground. At North Alabama Land Clearing and Forestry Mulching our company guarantees satisfaction to all our customers and our continued success is based on our commitment, expertise, and attention to detail on our projects. This results in the level of quality you expect. Lawn Care questions, answered by experts

Signs of an overwatered lawn can be visual, physical, or related to pests and weeds. Visually, the grass may appear yellow, wilted, patchy, or thin instead of green and lush. You might also notice the presence of mushrooms, other fungal growths, or an increase in weeds like crabgrass. Physically, the soil may be waterlogged, soggy, and perpetually damp. An overwatered lawn often feels mushy or makes a squishing sound underfoot, even several hours after watering. Additionally, you may see an increase in pests such as grubs. To prevent overwatering, ensure your lawn has proper drainage through periodic aeration and adjust your watering schedule to meet its actual needs.

Yes, watering after you level a lawn is essential. Water helps settle the soil, eliminating air pockets and encouraging the newly-applied topdressing to bond with the existing surface. Adequate watering aids in achieving a smoother and more even lawn surface. However, be sure to avoid overwatering, which could lead to soil erosion or compaction issues.

No, you don’t need to edge your lawn every time you mow it, but you can if that’s your preference. Some homeowners edge their lawns weekly, every other week, monthly, or at the start of a new season (more likely for those with landscaping material like brick, plastic, or metal edging). It’s up to you how often you edge, and it depends on how quickly your grass grows and how crisp you want your edge lines to be.

The best times to mow your lawn are mid-morning or early evening. Mowing in the mid-morning, around 10 a.m., allows any dew to evaporate so the grass is dry. Cutting dry grass is easier on both the lawn and the mower, and this timing gives the grass blades time to recover in the sunlight before the peak afternoon heat. Alternatively, you can mow in the late afternoon or early evening once the heat of the day has passed. Avoid mowing too early in the morning when the grass is still wet with dew, and try not to mow during the hottest part of the day, as high temperatures and harsh sunlight can put extra stress on the grass.

The best hardiness zones for St. Augustine grass are USDA growing zones 8, 9, and 10. However, with a bit of extra attention, it'll also grow well in zones 7, 11, and 12.
