  The bathroom remodel was not planned to happen for a couple of years, but because of some extensive plumbing repairs that had to be done immediately we decided to proceed since we knew we would be relocating the sink, shower, and toilet. It was very important to us that whichever contractor we chose would be willing to work with the plumber to coordinate those repairs with the remodel. I contacted 3 contractors who specialize in bath remodel, all from Angie's List. One company I did not actually meet with because they explained I would have to use materials supplied by their vendors and I didn't want to be limited in my selection of materials. I met with the 2nd contractor and shared with her what I wanted, my many pictures, my rough drawing, and my thoughts. She told me she would be my contact throughout the job and then also shared with me she was a full-time student. That concerned me because I knew we would need to be in close contact throughout the project and I wasn't sure what her availability would be. Shortly after we met she provided me a one-page proposal listing what would be done and a price- $18,020 - no drawings and not a lot of detail. Last, I met with Kevin from Clear Creek Home Improvements. I walked him through what I wanted and shared my pictures, my rough drawing, and my thoughts. He had some good suggestions for the project as well. He spent quite a bit of time with me and I felt like he had a good understanding of what I wanted (and our dog approved of him). He was also willing to coordinate with our plumber during the project. After our meeting he provided me with a 15-page Scope of Work which included, in detail, what would be done. The Scope of Work also included drawings of the existing areas to be worked on and renderings of the remodel. After reviewing the Scope of Work and making a few changes/adjustments, Kevin returned a bid of $19,908. Once we got started, Kevin was on the job every day, sometimes all day and sometimes he would come by in the morning to check in with me. He did a great job of keeping in touch with me and I always knew by the end of the day what would be done the next day and who would be doing it. There were, of course, unexpected challenges along the way. Changes/additions that I wanted along the way of course added to the overall cost which is why the final cost is more than the original estimate. All the workers that Kevin brought in were courteous and respectful of our space and our dog (which was important to us). I was pleased to find that Kevin was as particular about the quality of the work as I was. Anything I wasn't happy with he worked on until I was happy with it. I am overjoyed with everything that was done. I especially love my new big shower! It is beautiful! Kevin Gwyn is passionate about people and he is passionate about his work. We will definitely be calling him in the future when we do more remodelingshow more

  I was preparing my house for sale and called Ruben De La Rosa for an estimate on some interior wall painting. Ruben showed up that afternoon and we talked a bit about what I wanted. We walked through the house and I showed him the rooms to be painted. He offered a few suggestions, and then made me an offer for the entire interior of the house (living room, dining room, kitchen, hallway, ceilings, and 4 bedrooms (to include the walk-in closet in the master bedroom). The estimate was very fair, and I asked how much more to refinish the kitchen cabinets and again, a very fair estimate. Ruben went on to fully explain how the job would be done, to include repairing a number of holes in the walls (I have 2 dogs and a number of young grandchildren). Ruben is a very personable and friendly guy and I accepted his offer. He showed up the next morning right on time and got to work. He worked on the house for a total of 4 days (he works alone) and I was amazed at the work he did. The color that he recommended was spot on, the paint was seamless, flawless, and when he finished he went along the baseboards of the entire house and laid a small bead of caulk so there was no small gap between the baseboards and wall. Something I had never seen before and to me, made a great look. The kitchen cabinets came out amazing. I was extremely pleased with how they turned out. Whenever he saw a little something that needed repair, he fixed it. I had a couple of small sections of baseboard missing and he got out his miter saw and cut and replaced the missing baseboards. Ruben definitely knows his job and I would not hesitate to recommend him to friends and family for any painting needsshow more

  Luis called me back and when I explained what I was looking for, he stated that he only does new cabinets, not refacing/refurbishing of old cabinets. Just not a fit for what I was looking for, otherwise no issues with Pineda's.

  I am 90 years old and not to knowledgly about remodeling-so I had a expert to help me. I put no money up front.He furnished a statement of work done and materials at the end of every week.He was on time and did outstanding work. I checked out several contractors- he wasent the lowest bid but he had done work for a retired Col a friend of mine and he told me he would hire him again if needed. That rep was good enough for me. After closing he told me if there was any thing that came up wrong to call him.Its a good feeling to know there are still people out there that are fare and honestshow more

  I have heard many horror stories associated with contractors and home improvement work. This lead me to interview and get quotes from 9 different contractors. The only one of the 9 that 1) responded promptly, 2) arrived on time, 3) gave a professionally written quote and 4) was courteous and pleasant to speak with was Ed. I knew that I wanted Nutec to do the job immediately. Ed and his crew are very busy and it did take a while to get the job scheduled to start due to very large projects they were working on. I assure you that if you wait you will not be disappointed with the work done. The job only took 3 days total. Keith and Jr. arrived in the morning early (yes early) and got to work right away. They even let my 5 year old son be their helper! They truly did an incredible job and I am so glad I waited for them. Do not get discouraged if it takes a while to book a job with them. Keep in contact with Ed and they will take care of you. You truly can't go wrong hiring this companyshow more

  Ruben arrived on time. He looked over the kitchen cabinets I had and gave me a price to paint all of them using a Rust-Oleum product called "Cabinet Transformations". I wanted to either reface or refurbish my cabinets rather than replace them because of the expense involved in replacing. The product is said to make cabinets look new instead of having to replace them.   He was real good and I highly recommend him. It turned out well. He works real hard, he had to juggle jobs and he wasn’t able get to me right away but he did a good job and finished when he said he would. He travels all the way from the east side to the west side of town and worked at night to finish his work. He sanded it and re-stained them. So it looks new and shiny. I am very impressed. It saved me a lot of money. It would have been over $5000 to buy new doors and he re-finished the boxes and the doors. I thought it was reasonableshow more

  The owners are the most professional and talented I've encountered. Waiting for them, was well worth it. They work on one home at a time and thus you have their full attention. An owner shows up with workers every day. They are always on time, their estimates are accurate and they complete their work on time...actually, they were so good that I kept adding things for them to do (tiling, painting other rooms, adding skylights, adding lights to my large skylight, etc.). Their ideas are terrific and although I hired a professional designer, I also followed many of their ideas. They worked well with my designer. Both owners are extremely talented and a joy to work with. Their staff cleaned up each day. They also fixed a number of things in our home that they didn't charge me for. They are so nice! What started out as a bathroom remodeling job ended up extending to multiple rooms. Since Ed & Keith (the owners) are so focused on pleasing their customer, sometimes the time frame gets extended (with additional jobs). Therefore, sometimes they are "late" for the next client's job. Believe me, as I said, they are worth the wait!! This past year (2010) they came back and fixed a problem that my landscape contractor caused. It was a big problem, but Ed & Keith were great. They replace a 15 foot beam on our pergula and stopped water from seeping into my neighbor's home (caused by improper sealing of the raised flower bed by our common wall). Ed & Keith seem to be experts of many many things! This is my 6th home and I've done remodeling on all six. This was my first time to use Nutec. I will NEVER use anyone else!! They rate an A++show more
