When my dishwasher broke, I called Complete Appliance Protection, as I was fairly confident from reading my policy that my dishwasher was covered, although I was still hesitant having purchased home warranties before and the outcome for service calls was that the particular issue was never covered. Complete Appliance Protection referred me to G.& W. Whims Appliance promptly who was able to schedule an appointment within a few days. Although it required a part to be ordered and the repairman had to return several days later to finish the job, I was pleasantly surprised that what would have been a $185 repair was fully covered and directly billed to Complete Appliance Protection

Both incidents went very well. What I like is the fact that I can call my own contractor and don't have to wait around for someone that may not have been available for a few days, or even weeks. Once the contractor was on site, they discussed with the claims rep what the issue was and then the claims rep called me right away to discuss coverage based on the information received from my contractor. I did not have to wait days to hear back from someone especially since the issue needed addressed right away. I had great experience both times. I knew what was covered and what was not covered and was kept in the loop the entire time

My range went out. Sears was supposed to come out, and they gave me a confirmation number, they contacted a Sears technician, they tech was supposed to come out. We were out of a range for about a week and a half because the technicians schedule was booked up. They eyes on the gas stove worked, but the oven was out. There was a lot of confusion. This company had no record of me contacting them. They were unorganized during this process. They did find me another company, but the guy from Sears did not get the message that we were going through another company and came out. When he got here he just pulled the stove out and unplugged it and plugged it back in. This is the first time that has ever happened, so if it happens again, I will just try that. This company did all they could to clear up the confusion

It went very well. It's easier that the technician explains to Complete Appliance whats required and the cost, which he did. In this case the furnace broke in the evening, I was happy that Complete Appliance is open 24 hours to take my call. Once you have an item repaired you cannot remove it from your insurance package but otherwise they are very good to work with, explained things well in the beginning

The plan costs $390 with a deductible of $100 for your one year warranty. It is a typical home warranty. They basically cover nothing. The house has to kind of implode for them to cover anything. There are all kinds of caveats like they will pay for this, but only if A and B happen. It is not a great warranty plan. We haven't been able to use it at all

I have a warranty with them for parts and labor for the central air conditioner. I feel they are charging people unfairly because they are charging for a warranty on the parts even though they are already on the factory warranty. I do not see the reason to pay Sears for parts when the factory already has them covered. As far as the installation, I felt the pricing was worth the cost to install the unit; it was reasonable. I would not recommend it. No matter what we wanted to do with the house, they wouldn't cover it. We tried to do things with our roof as well and it was the same story. It's just not the worth the money you end up spending to get the warranty every year. I will not use them in the future.

"The slate put on my brick fire place by Marks Building Company, looks like a work of art. Mr. Marks from Marks Building Company does gorgeous work. He makes his own woodwork. He is very talented and responsive. He did a very nice job. I have no complains with him and his work. I recently had a mishap. When somebody was delivering something, they broke the basement stairs and put a hole in the wall. I asked Mr. Marks to come over. He fixed everything even before my husband came to know about the mishap. He is really great. When I wanted the cedar taken off from the walls and ceiling, another company quoted $4000 for the job. However, Mr. Marks took it off and put in dry wall for much lesser cost than the other company.

"They do not replace for like kind. They put the cheapest brand name in regardless of the brand or model number being replaced. This was not explained to me at the time of purchase. When I called and inquired they just said Sorry there is nothing we can do. They charge you 49.99 per month plus a service fee of 55.00 at the time of service. This was not told to me at the time of purchase. Although I had a disagreement with the Company most Home warranty Companies don't even cover the garbage disposal. So all in all I guess this company isn't as bad as I thought. My cost is in line with the other Companies. The biggest issue for these home warranty Companies is hiring a quality Company to do the work to be Contracted.

"We have an insurance. So when we call the insurance they will give a name of whom to contact. It works like that. If we have any issues with electronics they will give a contact number to contact. We called them and they gave us the plumbers number. We called him and made an appointment and he fixed it. If it exceeds $70 your plans have a limit. The deductible we have to pay. "When the oven broke, Hi Tech got a technician out with a couple hours to look at things. The tech was unable to fix it within a time frame that Hi Tech felt was fast enough so to make sure I wasn't without an oven they simply ordered me a new one. What more can you ask for? There was no "we need to order parts" or "we need to get another tech out who maybe knows more about this model." None of that. They couldn't fix it on the first trip so let's order a new one, take care of the customer, and the contractor can refurbish the original oven on his own time and do with it as he needs. Every time I've contacted Hi Tech they have moved mountains to make sure I'm taken care of...even in cases where their warranty didn't cover whatever was going on they have helped negotiate lower prices and have helped coordinate routine maintenance. This is a big issue that I think a lot of people take for granted. Hi Tech, like any home warranty company, is NOT responsible for routine maintenance. We as homeowners have to take care of our homes, appliances, water heaters, HVAC systems etc. We can't expect Hi Tech to fix issues that are a result of our own lack of maintenance. We have to do our part and I have been incredibly grateful for Hi Tech's willingness to help coordinate that routine service. When it's time to have my HVAC system looked at, I call Hi Tech and they coordinate a service visit. I pay a preferred rate to the contractor and I know that I'm doing my part under the warranty to ensure that if issues do arise I'm covered. There was one issue that was not covered under the warranty because I had not had my HVAC inspected in over a year. In that case, Hi Tech worked with the contractor to 1. get out to my house IMMEDIATELY to address the major issue 2. work with me and the contractor to ensure I was paying the lowest possible price. I've never had a warranty company advocate for me in this way. Most of the time if something isn't covered you get a "sorry we can't help you" kind of response and that's the end of that. Then we're on our own to find a repairman and deal with whatever comes. Not so with Hi Tech. They are with me every step of the way, on the phone coordinating everything between me and the contractors. Of all the companies out there I have found Hi Tech to be the easiest to deal with, the most straightforward and professional, and who have the nicest, hardworking contractors. They even provide a plan that includes basic issues related to the exterior of the home, another plus that distinguishes them from other companies. Again though, don't expect them to replace your roof for you. That's not what they do but if you're maintaining things and you have a covered issue, there will be no problems in working with Hi Tech to address whatever is going on. If it's not covered, expect them to go the extra mile to make sure you get what you need done by honest people you can trust.
