It could not have gone better. They knew exactly how to get an oversized sofa out of my small apartment and down 4 flights of stairs. They were fast and highly professional. They had to improvise a few times because the halls and doors were not wide enough and they didn't scratch the walls or floors doing it

We used Danny for 3 projects. One was removing and hauling away some large items from my basement, another was a small demolition project in my basement and a larger exterior demolition project. Estimate was quick, scheduling was easy, price was fair, work was done efficiently and professionally, and site was left clean. I would use Danny again and highly recommend his services. I'm a happy repeat customer

Scheduled pick up for Monday. Had people who put down payment on furniture to be picked up on Friday but canceled. Called Carla to add items for pick up for Monday after explaining my situation Carla sent out her crew that Friday and removed all of the items. Thanks to Carla my family and I were able to leave two days earlier. It was a great working with Junk Bee Gone especially Carl

  • Ace Handyman Services Chicagoland

I bought an IKEA Kitchen with counter and had a great quote for an IKEA recommended company to put together and install both. Struggled to find someone to demo my existing kitchen, tear the 1950s plaster walls out, fix the electrical and drywall and mud it all back up. I did the sanding and prime/paint myself because it isn't rocket science. No one would touch an IKEA job, all general contractors want all or nothing so I turned to the handyman service. Anyone attempting to do this type of job on their own needs Handyman Matters. Yes, you have to be at home while they work and answer questions they have as things come up (what a contractor would do). They got me a dumpster, planned the guys (Ruben and Raul) who were awesome. They showed up early and worked hard all day. Very knowledgeable, knew plumbing, knew electric, knew how to do the best job. They gave me options, fight the plaster with chicken wire, only cut out half the walls, and patch together (lose on time, save on materials) or rip out most (8x12 area so not that big of a difference), save on time lose on materials. I have several jobs coming for them soon, remove fan/put in light, remove window/ put in new window, install under lights in my new cabinets, all the plumbing to get a sink/dishwasher working and install the backsplash. Note, as contractor you order and have on hand most of the materials. I have the new window, new light fixture, any plugs you need, under lights ,new sink and faucet (for the counter guys not HMM), backsplash and grout all here for install. You have to understand what you need and when you need it. They are the perfect fit if you are looking to kind of do it yourself but mostly hire out for the heavy lift stuff. Very confident in my Kitchen Remodel and from the estimates I got from contractors, will save about 10k. So a $35k kitchen remodel for under $26K with all new appliances (except dishwasher which I bought last year). Just need to be aware you will need to be at home (with HMM and other installs and such) for 10-11 days. If you can work from home go for it. Oh and if you go IKEA please note that your cabinets will come in about 126 + flat boxes that have to be housed in an adjacent room so count on losing access to a few rooms (no Kitchen room, No adjacent room, no new dining - now scary kitchen room) for a couple of months. Worth it!!! The best advice I can give to the next who decides to save $9-10K on a kitchen is you need to walk into it as the General Contractor. So you're sitting at home and they disconnect the dishwasher to move it. There are water in the lines that spill on the floor. Know that it is your job to get the materials to clean the spill. Your workers are hired to do a job and they do it well but they can't account for water in the appliance lines, chicken wire in your walls and the last person that owned your home to do something stupid like glue tiles directly to a garden window that won't even chip off without hours of labor. Go with what this madness throws you and you will walk out the other side better and saving a lot of money with Handyman Matters. Seriously, I don't work for them. And as for expensive, $88 per man hour +40 for the trip out. Bundle your jobs, if you have 2 jobs requiring 2 men, put them together
