If you believe the connecting pipes are also frozen, you can use a hairdryer to help the pipes thaw while your water heater is thawing. This may save you a decent amount of time.

When it comes to which pump to use to descale a tankless water heater, the type is more important than the size. In general, you want it to have a horsepower of 1/5 hp or 1/6 hp. As long as it meets these requirements, it doesn’t matter how large or small it is.
