Heverly Hardwood Flooring
Did exactly what he said he would do and in the amount of time it would take. Floor looks like it was just installed new. Could not have asked for a better job.

Jeffrey g Sychterz
His motto is "the floor guy". It's just him and a helper. It's not a big company. Everything went really well. He came out right away. It's actually a smaller job for he normally does, so he squeezed me in. They have to come back. They have to sand it and then wait a little while. He puts 3 coats of oil based polyurethane finish on it. He had to come out consecutive days to put another coat on. He was always prompt. He did a real good job. He is very conscientious. The job came out really nice.

Pure Hardwood Floors
What a pleasure working with Mr. Tran and his company! When I contacted him about my floors, he arrived within a day, gave me a bid and instead of quoting me a price to install hardwood flooring, he suggested that I first try refinishing the pine flooring I had. He was right! My floors look great, and the price was much less than installing hardwoods! Who does that nowadays?? His work crew arrived on time every day, worked hard all day and left the place spotless at the end of each day. Five stars for Pure Hardwood Floors!

East Penn Hardwood Flooring
East Penn did a wonderful job refinishing wide pine floors, some of which were warped from water damage. They controlled the dust from sanding very well. We had an electrical problem with a GFI outlet: although they did not cause the problem they spent several hours tracking it down and repairing it at no extra cost. Would definitely recommend them to anyone looking to install or refinish wood floors.

Ideal Hardwood Floors Inc
Fantastic. No complaints. He is very busy so it might take a day or two for him to call you back. He is worth the wait. He is from Viet Nam. Sometimes I could not understand what he said, unless I asked him to repeat it, but he understands all we/I say. His answer phone at times was full, but I figured that must mean he is very much in demand because he is good. His flooring partner is also very good.

East Penn Hardwood Flooring
East Penn was very professional from day one. From the estimate to the refinishing there was constant communication and they were able to work around our schedule. The crew that came was very professional and the floors are beautiful. The price was very fair for the job that they performed and in one case was almost half of one of the other estimates we received. Our floors were original to our 1940s house and were in pretty rough shape. They are now beautiful and we couldn't be happier, it looks like a brand new house. We would recommend them to anyone for hardwood floor refinishing.

This company is excellent in every aspect. We had a wonderful customer service experience and consultation prior to selecting them as our contractor and they far outdid other flooring competitors in pricing fairness, quality of product/craftsmanship, professionalism, and communication. Our job included a 1928 full home install including new wood vents, a re-finished staircase. and differing wood types and stains in different rooms of the home. The end result is immaculate! The floors are the most noticed and complimented part of our home and completely increased the value of our property. We would recommend Lehigh Valley Hardwood Flooring to anyone looking to re-finish or install hardwood. From start to finish their management, scheduling, contractors, and overall service and quality was top notch and unbeatable!

I called the company for an estimate to refinish my hardwood floors. I was called back the same day and an appointment was scheduled to come to the house for an estimate. Jay didn't show up and never called to explain or reschedule.

Mendez Flooring Inc
Excellent. Owner Chris Mendez provided excellent service, was professional, friendly and always on time. The refinished oak floor and flagstone both look wonderful and we have had many positive comments from all who have come into our home. I highly recommend Mendez Flooring.

Work was sloppy and unprofessional. The staircase in particular proved to be a problem. They did not tape anything when staining steps and had to come back and re-paint. When the crew finished (the first time), the only notification I received was an email, subject line 'Final Invoice'. No message. Just an invoice attached with pay within a week or face interest stamped on it. And it contained a line item not on the original bid. If it had been they would not have gotten the job. No one ever even offered to return the key to the house. I guess they thought they were doing me a favor by refinishing my floors. They only graded as high as they did because the floors did turn out fairly well, and they did a nice job repairing some damaged boards. I would not recommend them to anyone.

Aidan's Hardwood Floor's
They came and stated that the floors looked very good and would only need polyurethane and not to refinish the entire floor and I was glad because it would be less expensive. I removed the furniture and left but when I came back in the afternoon the floors looked horrible, much worse than how it looked before. He said it was because he did not realize that it was not polyurethane that was on it but a wax finish. He had then try to buff it and re-wax it. He did not want to do a customer stain because we wanted the stain to match the stairs so we had to use the shelf stains. In general, it looks okay but it is not a perfect job. They were very rushed because they did not anticipate redoing the floor and I had painters coming. The worker that Aiden has with him, she was excellent. She seemed to be very professional.

TJ Hardwood Floors Inc
My preferred choice was not available, so I rolled the dice with TJ. His prices are very fair. He showed up on time and works fast. The refinished hardwood floors looked fine. It was a big improvement. That is not the problem. The issue is that while he was sanding the floors, he bumped into my white trim molding in many spots with the sander. It rubbed off the paint in many places, exposing the older red color underneath. I have to fill in the gaps and repaint my molding now. It's hard to match the color for each room, since most of the rooms were repainted before I bought the home. I specifically asked him if he would protect the trim or remove it, he said it would be fine. Most refinishers would either take the trim off, or protect it with a layer of foam tape. His actual refinishing of hardwood floors is fine and he is the cheapest around. Just keep an eye on things and make sure he tapes everything off.

Robert Horne Contracting
Bob was very professional, communicated well, performed the work on time and with a great result, and was very reasonably priced

East Penn Hardwood Flooring
They were able to get out stains from the previous owners that several other companies said that mostly likely would not have been able to remove. Reasonable timeframe to schedule with. Easy to contact. The guys were very patient with me in selecting a stain color from the samples they had applied to the flooring. Very happy with the finished product.

Wood Floor Refinishing Near You

We were unable to find pros for your Wood Floor Refinishing project in Reading, PA

However, we may have pros in another category that can help with your project.

Few materials add warmth and style to your home like hardwood floors. They are durable and elegant, but they may need to be refinished so as to appear as good as new.

Hardwood floor refinishing involves sanding of the wooden panels and adding a fresh protective layer. Refinishing extends the life of your hardwood and may even increase the resale value of your home.

How much does hardwood floor refinishing near me cost?

The hardwood floor refinishing cost will depend on the overall size of your home. A room of about 225 square feet will cost between $125 to $250 to refinish, with many homeowners spending an average of $1,000 to $2,400 to refinish their entire homes.

In most cases, refinishing a room of between 250 to 300 square feet costs about $630 per room. The cost can vary between $525 to $725, depending on the amount of work that needs to be done. More damaged floors will often drive up the overall wood floor refinishing cost. If you’re looking to refinish a wooden floor kitchen of about 300 square feet, be prepared to spend $950 to $1250.

You can also calculate the cost of refinishing by square footage. Most rooms of about 15 by 15 feet will cost between $1.5 to $4 per square foot to refinish.

What factors affect the cost of wood floor refinishing?

Successfully refinishing a floor will depend on many different materials being used. Basic tools such as sandpaper, nails, edgers, and claw hammers may cost a total of $100 to rent or purchase (edgers may be rented on a daily basis). Some contractors include the cost of materials in their overall quote.

Another important material cost is the coating being used. Oil-based polyurethane coatings cost about $25 per gallon, while water-based finishing products cost about $40 per gallon. Water-based finishes are more expensive because they dry faster and you get to enjoy the results sooner than with oil-based finishes.

You should also keep labor costs in mind. Having your floors professionally refinished increases resale value, maintains water resistance, and improves structural integrity..
