EVERGREEN CONTRACTING SERVICES LLC
Dave's team was fantastic! We had some issues with the product we bought...some of the stone tiles crumbled when they were picked up. We got the defective tiles replaced and Dave was very patient with us as we were understandably nervous about whether these stone tiles could be installed adequately. With the new tiles in hand, Dave's team did an amazing job of laying them. They were very, very meticulous in the work and they were very glad to work with us to lay them out exactly as we wanted (we had tiles with many different colors in them and wanted them laid out in a particular way). All three members of Dave's team were very professional and affable as well. I enjoyed chatting with them as they worked. PS I put that this work was done at the provider's location but it was obviously done in our home. I just wanted to keep our address private.

Mill Direct Floor Coverings
I would LIKE to have recommended Mill Direct Flooring, 7508 Richmond Hwy, (703) 765-1900. They have good samples and salesmen. The work was excellent and we are please with our new carpeting, flooring, and especially the front hall tiling. However, despite the store's assurances that the installation would be completely safe, their carpet installers two weeks ago wore ONLY surgical masks, and those, not always covering the nose. We had provided several N-95 and KN-95 masks for the team, but they declined to wear them. At one point, I saw an installer wearing NO MASK AT ALL. Although I quickly made him put on one of ours, my husband contracted COVID a week after the installation—despite our both having been vaccinated and boosted. Please note that surgical masks are NOT effective against the Omicron variant. Servicemen MUST wear a N-95 or KN-95 mask during their entire workday in a customer's house.

We visited Marble Systems to look at granite. They have a vast selection and knowledgable staff. They also have a large selection of tile and natural stone. Great place for gathering ideas.

Collins Tile & Stone
Pete and Carlos arrived on time and took care to use drop cloths to prevent any carpet damage. They installed the tile perfectly (I'm very picky) and were beyond pleasant to work with. They had to remove the toilets and a pedestal sink to do the tile work and reinstalled new toilets and even replaced the faucet in the sink at no extra charge. Overall this was a GREAT experience from start to finish. The only "surprise" was that they do not take credit cards. Cash/check only. The owner told me this is posted on their Angie's List profile but admittedly I did not pay attention. Just surprised I had to write a $3K check. With that said, I would use them for future jobs because Pete and Carlos were that good.

American Deck & Patio
My boss once said, "Home additions are one of the few things in life that are as bad as everyone says they are." Well, not with Steve Schultze. Steve is a RARE contractor, and I've worked with quite a few. He is responsive, polite, and patient. I originally hired Steve to just do our patio and deck. When I shared the whole vision for the back yard (including the home office), he said he wanted to offer up a design and an estimate. Not only were his designs better than others I'd received, but his all-inclusive estimate - concrete foundation, electrical, HVAC, flooring, etc. - was considerably less than a prefab manufacturer who should have been cheaper. Were there hiccups? Sure there were. But if I've learned one thing, it's this - mistakes and unexpected issues always happen, even with the best contractors. What makes Steve special is his kindness and responsiveness. If you go through these Angies List reviews, you will find that everyone says the same things about Steve, and that consistency is absolutely remarkable. I'll end with this - I spent $50,000 with Steve, and I'd easily spend $50,000 more. I have VERY high expectations of contractors, and Steve met and exceeded all of them. Steve is a gem. When you call American Deck & Patio, ask for him by name.

Ventura Construction Inc
Ventura Construction is a great all-around contractor. He is fair and up-front with estimates. He has good suggestions, and works with the client to arrive at a common vision. He gets to know you and know your preferences and sensibilities. His suggestions have always been spot on in size, scope, materials, and design for our house. We have used them for bath and kitchen remodeling and other general work. For our patio , he came out and evaluated our backyard. We had a sloping backyard and he described how he could build a small wall which he backfilled and concreted. Nice flagstone topping. Wrought iron rail. All work done as promised. Great crew!

Abbey Design + Remodel
Abbey Floors recently installed stone tile in our foyer and hardwoods in the first floor of our home. From the moment we walked in to the showroom we felt welcomed by the staff. They gave us the privacy to look at Show Room at our own pace but were very responsive to our questions. I was having a hard time deciding on the selection of hardwood color. Zied graciously set up a time to come to our home. Zied brought three samples for the hardwood. He was patient, but offered suggestions when needed. I am so glade that we decided to go with Abbey. Great customer service. I like to describe the stone tile crew as artists. They meticulously placed the varied sized tile in a design that truly complimented our foyer space. Very patient with me when I asked to see a test area of the grout I had initially selected. I was not pleased with my selection and asked could we change before completing the job. I sent an email to Zied and Nick requesting the change. Both responded in such a timely manner. I was able to change grout and Zied even made another trip to our house to review the job. We have the second floor of our home to update and I will be coming to Abbey Floors to assist us in this job.

PriceCo Floors Inc
The transaction was smooth. Ash and his wife were very cordial. Ash recommended an alternative to ceramic tile, which is more durable and looks like stone. The day to the installation went well.. The work was done in one day. My floors look great.

The President, Buck was exceptional...was involved and followed up through the entire process. The craftsmen were professional, timeliness, awesome!

The man from Stone Painting's price is reasonable, he's been very good, and I like him a lot but there has been a little bit of difficulty with communication because I don't speak Spanish which is challenging at times. He is available all the time.

This was expensive at other companies I looked at going with ($12.99/square foot). I found this very stone on the internet. I ordered from Stuart Ginsburg for the cost of $6.89/sq ft x 379 sf= $2,611.31 plus $417.31 for shipping charge totaling $3.028.62 --a fraction of what the local companies would have charged. The company they arranged our delivery with was also excellent, not one stone was broken or damaged on the long drive to Virginia. I had never ordered anything on the internet before, and the thought of paying a "stranger" in another state $3,028.62 (this amount includes the shipping charge) was pretty daunting and seemed unreasonably risky!! All's well that ends well, and yes, I would order from Stuart Ginsburg again, much more relaxed the next time, for sure!!

Dj Floors LLC
It cost a bit more than normal due to stone being used rather than ceramic tile, don't know if this is normal. However, I used this company regardless of price concerns (not sure of normal market price in this area) due to the good feeling I got when meeting the owner and due to the rave reviews on Angie's List. The company did not disappoint; it took a long time for the project to get from plan to implementation, but that wasn't their fault as I had much red tape and unexpected complications to deal with. But once we finally started, they did a great job. It took them about twice as long as planned, but the price remained the same. They did a better job even on patching the seam between wall and flooring, which had concerned me prior to that part being completed. Overall, I'm extremely happy with this company. I like to think that you get what you pay for. Every time I walk into my kitchen or bathroom I smile at how beautiful it is, which of course is not only due to the stone itself but the way it's laid: perfect grout, perfectly flat, great bordering, etc. etc. Highly recommended company.

First off, Marty was the first person to respond to our inquiry for an estimate. He was also the first to show up and the first to provide complete documentation. The good news kept coming from those experiences. His crew was very professional and the work they did was excellent. We have already recommended Floorcraft to our family and would recommend to all Angies list users.

Unique Floor Design Center
I almost feel like I waited too long to write a review, but it's been 4 months and we still LOVE our new floors! We had a good experience from the start. Jason came out to our house and showed us a few samples, and was very friendly and knowledgable. We also went to the store in Burke to look at a broader set of samples to confirm our choice. The installation also went well. We asked that they fix a lot of squeaks in the underfloor after they removed the old carpet, and it is so nice to have them gone now! Both the hardwood floors and the stone tile look great, and we haven't noticed any problems since the installation in December.

Bay Country Floors LLC
We remodeled our kitchen and replaced our flooring in our kitchen, eating area, and family room. We worked with Scot at Bay County and he was professional, patient , and helpful. The process went well from the purchase through the installation. Scot coordinated the install with the Cabinet Discounters team. We will use Bay County again.

Griffin's Flooring America
Jim from Flooring America came out and did a quote. He came out during my lunch to be able to facilitate my schedule. After my wife and I chose what flooring types we were considering he provided full estimates and we decided on the tile mentioned above. We put half down and paid the rest after the installation was complete. Jim was very knowledgable and couldn't have been better at assisting us as we decided which floor to have installed. He was exactly the type of person that I like to deal with when choosing a service. In order to save on the cost of labor I removed our toilet, molding, and the preexisting floor down to the plywood. His company would have had this completed, but I also wanted to remove the vanity as we were planning on getting a pedestal sink. The installation crew arrived on time, looked and acted professional, and were very cordial. I asked several questions during the installation and they were able to answer each of my questions easily. I couldn't believe it but my entire bathroom floor was done in just a few hours. Once they completed the floor it looked amazing. They installed the new tile with grout as well as molding to go around the walls. I have to say that these polymer tiles look just like real tiles and the texture looks and feels to be of very high quality. After the new floor was completed I paid the rest and the new floor was available for use within hours. I cannot express how great it looks, just stunning! Overall I was extremely impressed with this company. I am already having Jim come back out to provide a quote for our kitchen and den. In addition, their labor is under warranty for life and the tiles have a lifetime residential warranty. If you are in the market for a new floor I suggest that you give these guys the opportunity to show you what they have, it was that good.

America's Best Home Improvement
The work, from beginning to end, was absolutely professional, timely, and accurate to cost estimate. The attention to detail by all of the workers was particularly impressive. As unforeseen problems arose, the solutions were always done he right way rather than the fast way and many tasks were accomplished with no addition to the bill. The tile workers were extremely talented and hardworking. A fun group of guys who enjoyed their work. They cleaned up every day as much as possible and took extra care to cover and isolate rooms and furniture. When all was finished, a professional cleaner came in and finished the job. I couldn't be happier with any company. I already have a few future projects lined up with them. Just a heads up -- if you are looking to use them, book early. They are very busy.

CHEVY CHASE REMODELING
Steve was great to work with, he had a lot of ideas to share with us when discussing what we wanted done and provided great pricing for the job. The crew was flexible with their work hours and made accommodations to squeeze us into their schedule and get the job done.

I had my upstairs bath renovated by Magnus Improvements, with new floor and tub tile, an Estate brand vanity from a home improvement store, and topped off with a stone sink/countertop from another home improvement store. Magnus got the job done on time (less than 10 days), on budget and his eye for design convinced me to add recessed lighting and a design on the tub's tile area that is fabulous.

NVS Kitchen and Bath
NVS is a wonderful company to work with. They have been exceptionally responsive and professional. Although the project took longer than expected they continued to work until is was completed to our satisfaction. The project manager was onsite almost every day. If he wasn't here, he was just a text message or phone call away. The owner of the company was out several times and even cleaned up after the work crew one day! The kitchen and laundry/pantry addition part of the project went very smoothly. NVS correctly insisted that all of our cabinets were in their warehouse; appliances; counter tops; backsplash and flooring all be ordered before starting so there was no delay waiting for anything. There was a direct plan from the beginning. Alison the designer was a tremendous help. Due to the addition, the patio below needed to be removed. This required the removal of 13 dump trucks of dirt! The original subcontractor for the patio backed out before the job was started and a replacement was found. This 2nd subcontractor was the only negative in the entire job. (NVS will not use this contractor again). He left equipment and trash on the job site and worked sporadically. NVS finally had to give him a 48 hour deadline to finish the job and remove his equipment. He did. The patio turned out nicely overall. NVS completed this project in November 2014 but has returned several times for minor repairs. The original kitchen was 9' x 9', where there was room for one person. The remodel changed the whole style of our home! It is now a place our whole family enjoys gathering. I actually enjoy cooking, entertaining and sharing the kitchen with others for the first time in 20 years! I still love the kitchen and whole remodel. I wouldn't change a thing! Thank you NVS!! We would work happily with NVS again.
