Working with Greg Allman and staff at Greenbrier Real Estate Service in Lewisburg has been a great experience. Professional staff and very knowledgeable about the area.

Overall, Tom Veltri is a great realtor and we cannot brag enough about him. We've been house hunting since November 2011 and here we are in September 2012 and hoping to close at the end of the month. In this time, we have gone through bank issues, financial decisions, 5 other houses we made offers on that fell through and sellers that just couldn't make decisions. One house seemed to be sold right from under us after a contract had been penned. Tom was there going to the mat for us when he found out. We had 1 bank that just sat on our loan application until time ran out and our lease was up on our apartment. If you live in WV, you know finding an apartment to rent in central WV during this natural gas boom is near to impossible and then trying to find one in a week . . .Impossible. Tom drove around all weekend to the apartment complexes he sold previously to see if there were any rentals available. He found one for us. He is a life saver. So we were able to move into another apartment, build back up our savings and start looking again. We went to another local bank to get a pre-approval to have in hand and found a great house with the first one on the list. Well, the bank really didn't have authorization to give a pre-approval because they go through a 3rd party, which we were unaware of. The seller's realtor was still showing the house, even though it was under contract with us. Apparently, another buyer came in and offered cash. At this point, we were still going through the second pre-approval with this local bank's 3rd party and the contract financial dead line expired. Tom went back to the seller's realtor and argued for us and how unethical it was to take offers while under contract. So the seller changed the details of the contract to completely contradict the first one (no home inspection, close in 15 days, etc). His realtor said he was provoked. By this time, Tom had got us in front of a another local bank that is just pretty awesome. Well, we were provoked by this shady dealing by the seller and their realtor. So we refused. Tom never waivered. So after looking at a few more houses, we found another house and made an offer. We just couldn't come to an agreement with the seller. He was in MD and his grandma lived in the house and it was just . . .a mess. We were all very aggitated by the whole dealing. The seller ended up taking the house off the market. 10 houses after that one, we are now hopefully closing at the end of the month. Not without pain though. Tom really had to go to the mat on this one also. The seller's realtor seemed out of touch so to speak. When the seller counter offered our offer, they came back with that they didn't understand their counter offer. How does that happen? Tom had a very serious conversation with this other realtor and smoothed things out. We had our inspection and some things need fixing, which the seller doesn't want to fix. Hopefully, the appraisal will rectify this. Tom even went the extra mile to help find someone that does chimney repairs. For some reason, you can't find anyone out here that does those. But he found one. He's just a great realtor. You cannot ask for a better one.

very well, There were a few cases that I did not have contact with her for some time, but in the end she was able to sell my home for me.

We dealt with Linda Mcdonald who was knowledgeable, experienced, very helpful with helping us find and buy our first home. We always had constant contact during the process, she made sure we were updated and informed throughout the entire home buying process. We will use them in the future if we decide to sell/buy again.

She was recommended to us by someone and she started working with us when we were still in Florida; she worked with us for a long time and got us what we wanted. She is great; she goes out of her way to find what we want. She just keeps looking until she finds what we want. She is definitely a professional but she has also become a friend. This lady that we were talking about is in her 70’s; she just knows everyone in town and everyone about the town. I think that is what I like about her the most; it was not just looking for a house but she also showed us areas and told us about it.

Nick Perperas was very thorough in examining the property and in providing an estimate of what would be a reasonable asking price for the real estate. It was about what was expected and in line with others in the area. It was a pleasure dealing with Nick and he certainly is a credit to Venture Realty.

  • Homefinders Plus Real Estate
We worked with Jim Archer at Homefinders Plus is Bridgeport to find a home in town. He has been amazing to work with - easy to get in touch with and responsive to messages, patient with our ups and downs and mind changing, knowledgable, and willing to be our advocate and even research extra information for us about flood insurance. We would wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone!

Gary was the best agent I have ever worked with. I have bought and sold houses in the past, never with a good experience. Gary changed how I feel about real estate agents.

Miss Kay who is the local manager is wonderful! She is a true advocate of the tenants who live in the building. She always goes above and beyond to make sure that the property is maintained to the best of her ability. However the corporate management leaves much to be desired. I have written to them expressing my concerns and never received a response. There about the lack of security that is in our building, the secure keypad code is given to every tenant and all of the caretakers who need to go in and check on some of the disabled residents. This code is never changed after staffing or resident changes. There are no cameras on the doors to see if persons are propping doors open, or what vandalism may be going on. Recently we have had break-ins with thieves stealing Christmas decor, and a flat screen TV that was bolted to the wall. Last week our mail boxes were vandalized and we have heard nothing from management about what is being done to correct it leaving Miss Kay hand delivering all the mail for the three floor building on top of all her other tasks. Due to the poor pay and benefits the company offers a super or maintenance man is nearly impossible to keep on staff. There is standing water outside due to broken waterspouts, water collecting in the elevator shaft, and grounds that are in constant need of being mowed and trimmed. If it weren't for Miss Kay being a constant advocate for us I would have moved our long ago.

The auctioneer took advantage of a little old lady the normal fees would have been much less especially if she was paying for the advertising. To ad insult to injury he failed to properly prepare all items in the house for sale leaving a score of household possessions that were not sold at auction, when confronted Mr. Herbaugh said those items were not worth his time. He was clearly only worried about the real property. Of the personal items he got paid almost half of the take for advertising and "labor" charges that were not discussed before hand. Never Use this man we should have refused payment but my Grandmother just wanted the matter closed and over with. You may say well my grandmother should have negotiated the deal better... there was no negotiation. In fact she was coerced into setting a low reserve price on the real estate because The auctioneer said he would not perform the service of the personal property if she didn't set a low reserve price on the real property. He was not a trustworthy professional auctioneer.
