"Sales process was good, courteous and helpful. Installation instructions were easy to follow. Did have a small issue with one sensor which was easily solved with a call. Control panel is easy to use and well constructed. Phone app is the best part. Not a big fan of a 2 year contract and the monthly rate feels a little high, but definitely a decent system. I had emailed them a question pertaining installing on double hung windows and never received a reply, but other than that their phone support prior to that was good."

Weatherizing a home or building can involve many products or services one of the most common being window replacement. However, new windows are expensive, and when budgets are tight, weatherization projects may end right there. Many people dont know that proven energy savings are easily achieved at a fraction of window replacement costs by installing a quality window film product on existing serviceable (properly sealed, etc.) windows leaving the homeowner or building manager with a lot more money to add other weatherization products, and increase savings. Typically window film can save on the air conditioning portion of your electric bill; and when piggybacked with other energy-saving products can substantially reduce utility bills and carbon footprints. Call Hot Tint Window Tinting today.

Window Tinting questions, answered by experts

Most installations take 1-3 days, depending on the number and size of windows.

No, it isn’t necessary to have energy-efficient windows. However, if you care about your energy bill and making your windows more energy efficient, fixing any heat, UV, or air transfer issues is an excellent way to lower your bills and keep your house cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter.

The most energy-efficient windows are double—or triple-pane windows with low-emissivity (Low-E) coatings and gas fills between the panes. These windows reduce heat transfer, prevent drafts, and help maintain a consistent indoor temperature. But if replacing windows isn’t in your budget, pairing your existing windows with insulating window treatments can still make a noticeable difference in home comfort and monthly bills.

If your window film doesn’t come with an installation kit and its own application solution, you can make your own—but don’t use soap! Instead, use 1 teaspoon of baby shampoo mixed with a gallon of bottled water. Make sure the bucket in which you mix this solution is completely clean.

Replacing a window frame will improve your home’s energy efficiency if the old frame is cracked or damaged in a way that allows unconditioned air from the outside into your living space or if you upgrade to a more energy-efficient window frame material. Aluminum is the least energy-efficient window frame material, followed by vinyl and wood. Fiberglass and composite frames are the most energy-efficient.
