"Couldn't afford to pay for an AC system, and labor, so I contacted Tom Martin of MMG and he was kind enough to send 5 star rated Senior HVAC Technician Dennis Canterbury out to tell me everything needed to have a fully functional AC system, allow me to purchase my own parts and do my own labor and then have them come back out and hook it up. Now that's top notch service!!!! 5 out of 5? More like 10 out of 10!!! I'll quote you this "If you're in need of HVAC, plumbing or electrical services, residential or commercial, from a company you can trust to go out of their way to make sure that you're sitting pretty in hard times. THEN YOU NEED MMG.""

Small jobs welcome

"Mr. Workman installed a bathroom fan/light/heater in my home. I cannot say enough good things about this gentleman. He works nonstop, is knowledgeable on so many levels, and his workmanship is very impressive. He is neat and a complete professional. Cecil has painted several bedrooms and installed ceiling fans for me. He also put a heat resistant film on my storm door which required an exceptional amount of patience. A better worker you will not find!"

I have multiple years experience in home organization and housekeeping, I can provide services on a flexible but reasonable schedule. I take great pride in my work ethic, and I complete every job/task I start. And you as my future clients/costumers, can rest assured that you will be be put right there and I will aim to make your home/space as clean, comforting, and relaxing as I possibly can for you. After all a clean home is a happy home and a happy home creates comfort for us all. I thoroughly look forward to meeting you as my new clients/customers and hope to be able to make you happy with my work.\nAlso, I have 2 specific rules. 1 be honest on condition of home,2 be kind

"First off, AMAZING SERVICE!!! The primary technician introduced himself right off (unfortunately I don't remember his name). He and the other tech were very courteous and professional. Job being performed: Central AC repair. Professionalism: This is very important to me, and these guys were spot on!!! Great representatives for the company. Communication: Amazing!!! Got a text the morning of to ensure we were still a go for the appt. Received another text stating that they were running 20 mins late. I was informed about the steps and processes they were performing and given status updates. After the work had been completed, I was told of other issues w/ the system and given a list of parts if I wished to do it myself. Also received a text later giving me their price if I wanted them to complete the work, I will use them for this task!!! Timeliness: Ok, giving an honest review, this is the only area I dinged them on. They ended up being 40 mins late. My day was free so it really didn't bother me, but if I took time out of work and was losing money, I could see where that would have been aggravating. BOTTOM LINE: These guys will be my go to HVAC mechanics for here on out, and I will refer them to everyone. Other companies (regardless of industry) should follow Wilson Mechnical's lead."

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

To extend your HVAC system’s lifespan, it’s crucial to keep up with maintenance. This includes changing filters and thermostat batteries, keeping the outside unit clean and clear of clutter, and lubricating moving parts. Watch out for leaks, mold buildup, and blockages to ensure your unit stays in good working order. Spotting these issues early can be the difference between a simple, wallet-friendly repair and an expensive replacement.

Yes, mini-split or ductless AC systems add value to a home and do not devalue it. They are an attractive feature for potential buyers, especially in older homes without existing ductwork, as they provide a practical air conditioning solution without the significant expense and hassle of installing traditional ducts. Ductless systems also eliminate issues associated with conventional ductwork, such as noise and the potential for pests. Furthermore, homeowners value energy-efficient solutions, and mini-splits offer high efficiency for both heating and cooling, plus zoned temperature control. This leads to lower energy consumption and reduced electric bills, which is a major selling point.

Yes, you can clean your air conditioner filter as a temporary fix for cleaning up dirt, but you’ll eventually need to replace it once the dust starts to accumulate. Use a vacuum with a hose attachment to clean your air filter at least once per year or more often if you have pets.

The best way to reduce heat upstairs is to release it by opening a window. Hot air rises, and if you can create some airflow by opening a window upstairs and also one on a lower level, the hot air should be pushed out of the home. Remember that fans pointing out the window do a much better job of circulating air than fans pointing into the home.

Not if you have a standard unit. Because portable AC units actually work to dehumidify the room, you’ll likely need to drain the unit from time to time—but you won’t have to put water into it. There is, however, another type of air conditioner called a swamp cooler that requires water to operate. If you have a swamp cooler, you may need to fill a reservoir with water and potentially ice. But a swamp cooler is different from a standard portable AC unit.
