I had a problem with flying squirrels getting into my attic. Once all of the insulation was removed from the attic, we discovered a gap ranging from 1" to 2" between the roof boards and the soffit board. I called Dick's Roof Repair, and within 24 hours they had come out to the house and provided me with a fair quote for installing the apron along all gutter lines (two rooflines on each side of the house). I accepted the quote of $1,200 and authorized the work. The crew came out the next day, and once they removed the gutters, they realized that only a portion of the roof required the gutter aprons. We had an addition built onto the house ten years ago, and the new part was fine, only the original roofline required the gutter aprons. I was pleasantly surprised when they told me they had completed the work (that same day), and that the cost would only be $500. I would definitely use them again, and would recommend them to others. P.S. It is two and a half weeks later, and no more squirrels sneaking into the attic.

Outstanding! From the intial call to final service check Dick's Roofing was very professional, clean, and did a fantastic job. The entire job was complete in a day - with not a single nail found in the yard. Attention to detail was impeccable and the new roof looks amazing. Going above and beyond - one of the managers stopped by months later to make sure we were satified with the job.

It leaked immediately. There was nothing wrong with the roof before. It was just getting older They cut the boards and wrap around the flashing, as we found out later. They refused to fix it, refused to redo, etc. They admitted that they improperly installed the shingles (racking), etc., but said that they have been doing that for 25 years. We took them to small claims court but they lied and won --they had a lawyer and we didn't. We had to tear off their roof and put on a new one. We wasted so much money because of them.

THEY ABANDONED THE PROJECT ONCE IT STARTED TO RAIN. DID NOT COVER THE EXPOSED ROOF, RESULTING IN WATER ENTERING THE HOUSE CASCADING THROUGH THE INTERIOR OF THE WALLS AND RUINING THE 1ST FLOOR LIVING ROOM CEILING AND FLOOR. CONTRACTOR OWNER, WHO WAS NOT SUPERVISING AT THE SITE, WAS CONTACTED DURING THE RAIN STORM BUT HE WAS INCREDULOUS THAT HIS WORKMEN WOULD ABANDON THE SITE WITHOUT COVERING IT. AFTER INSISTING THAT HE COME TO WITNESS THE WATER CASCADING INTO OUR HOUSE FROM THE UNCOVERED ROOF, HE CAME AND IMMEDIATELY REALIZED THE EXTENT OF THE DAMAGE AND WENT TO THE HARDWARE STORE TO BUY SOME PLASTIC TARPS TO COVER THE ROOF. HE INSTALLED THE TARPS DURING THE HEIGHT OF THE RAINSTORM, BUT THE DAMAGE HAD ALREADY BEEN DONE. WHEN I ASKED WHAT HE WAS GOING TO DO ABOUT THE DAMAGES, HE RESPONDED "THE INSULATION WILL DRY IN A FEW DAYS AND THE WET CEILING WILL ALSO DRY, YOU CAN MOP THE FLOORS," "HE IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE RAIN". I AGREED THAT HE WAS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE RAIN, BUT HE WAS CERTAINLY RESPONSIBLE FOR ABANDONING THE ROOF AS SOON AS IT STARTED TO RAIN. I EVENTUALLY HAD TO TAKE HIM TO COURT IN ORDER TO GET JUSTICE DONE.

When the original estimate was done, I was called when they were on site, and we walked through the problem, what they saw, what I had observed happening with the leak over time, and the solutions. The estimate was left in my mailbox that day. After the work had started, I got a call telling me that there was more rotted wood than originally suspected, and that work would be done on time and materials basis. They were very fair in calculating the extra costs for the time and materials work, and did not try to tack on a lot of extras to raise the bill. Now that the work is completed, I am quite satisfied with the overall quality and workmanship. They even did more gutter and downspout than I had expected. Also, the job was left clean of debris, nails, and garbage.

Dick's was very professional. They called after getting to the house to tell me the existing rubber roof was in good shape and they were hesitant to replace it. I knew, however, that it was 15+ years old and we had just remodeled the room under it so for peace of mind. I had them go ahead with the work. They did an excellent job and cleaned up the area very well.
