"I cannot begin to tell you how happy I am with this contractor. The deck - naturally - took two days to complete...the first day to clean and strip, and the second to stain and seal. My deck has NEVER looked so beautiful! Craig Momberg, owner of Sealwize of E WI, arrived as promised; he is a professional and a man of his word, plus he went above and beyond what needed to be done. In addition to doing the work for which he quoted, he also reinstalled my spindle railing which involved going out for screws and grinding some of the spindles down (he took the spindles home to do this and will return next week to finish up. Highly recommend!"

"Arrived on time. Very friendly office staff and technician. Made sure I was happy with the job before he put everything away. The job was very thorough and the siding looks like new. Great job. Would hire them again."

"When they were here they worked all day. However there were many days when they had to go to other jobs and that caused delays on our project. Project took much longer than we thought it would. Had a hard time communicating, many times only got voice mail.Seemed to us the contractor had too many jobs going on at the same time. We did not feel our project was a high priority. Overall we are happy with the results but were quite frustrated at times"

Patios questions, answered by experts

A lanai is a covered patio with open walls, while a Florida room has sides made of mesh screens or windows, with or without partial low walls. In addition, lanais often use concrete or other patio flooring, while Florida rooms may have more indoor-style flooring like tile or wood. Both allow you to enjoy the outdoors without being in the direct sun, but a lanai doesn’t offer any barrier against insects or debris.

A Florida room doesn’t have insulation, nor is the space heated, so in most cases, the room won’t be comfortable enough to use during the winter months. A four-season room, which is like a Florida room that’s insulated, heated, and cooled, is a better option if you’re looking to enjoy your sunroom all year long.

If you want to hire a professional to build a screened-in porch, a local sunroom or porch contractor is your best bet. If you can't find a local sunroom builder, another option is to consider hiring a general contractor to perform the work.

If you're handy, you may consider building the porch yourself. Before you do so, make sure you understand the local permit requirements and building codes so that you don't have any problems with the safety or structure of the porch.

If you’re trying to decide between a sunroom and a screened-in porch, the right choice will depend on your priorities. A screened-in porch costs only a fraction of the price of a sunroom, but in exchange, it has much more limited use. A sunroom will add more value to your home, but at a much higher up-front cost and longer construction timeline.

An enclosed porch can be considered a living space if it meets certain criteria. For instance, it must be completely enclosed with solid walls and a roof. It should also have a heating and cooling source similar to the rest of the home. Finally, the porch should have direct access to and from the interior of your house.
