I couldn't believe this is happening right now with this roofer who claims in their ad they are the best roofer in West Washington. Four days before scheduled repair, I got a voice message from this roofing company saying the weather forecast didn't look good on the day of scheduled repair for my rental property. They would be watching out for the weather. One day before the scheduled appointment, when I called them trying to confirm the cloudy weather on the scheduled day looks great and that we should be to have the job done on time, I was told that I was already bumped to three days later because some other job was bumped to my day. When I insisted that the reasonable thing to do is to bump the other job to three days later instead of mine being bumped, I was told my only option other than being bumped is to cancel the job entirely. It is Denise that kept interrupting me on the phone and offered me this unfair, unreasonable and most rude solution. I have a tenant to coordinate the repair time with. The funny part is I called them to find out that I was bumped. Worst company to work with. Has no respect of customer.

My husband was on them with every detail, and they were very patient with him. It is a big relief to have that job done. It was a fair price for the job that was done. They were really good. They were always on time.

Estimation and proposal process was well executed. This is a good company, and they have done many roofs in the local area. The company does have higher overhead rates which made their proposal higher than many of the others we worked with. We didn't choose the company with lowest bid, but rather one we felt was reputable and reasonable. Valentine roofing is a reputable company, and I would consider using them in the future.

On time. Stayed till 6:00. Cleaned up everything. Explained everything.

Good inspection in and out. They caught some items in the attic that also need addressing. Good guys.

From the first phone call requesting a bid to the time the workers completed the job, Valentine Roofing was very professional in every aspect. Of the 3 bids we got, they were by far the most price competitive and professional. The workers were respectful of our property and schedules, and cleaned up every day. When the job was completed, our property was spotless. As an added note, we discovered a small leak in one of our hallways around 8 pm one rainy night during the replacement (caused by another contractor). I called the job foreman who had already worked 12 hours that day, and he responded within the hour and fixed the leak. This is a great testament to the quality of work they did for us. I would hire this company again in a heartbeat!

The work at the time generally went smoothly. However, about 2 years after installation the roof started to leak. We contacted the company and they sent someone out who applied a temporary fix. I asked if they were planning to do a better fix and he wouldn't commit to it, he said it wasn't up to him and that we should just see if his temporary fix would work. I'm not convinced that a little calking will last for the life of the roof. There was also damage to our ceiling and they were not willing to fix that either. I haven't fought this any more as I write this but I'm planning to. At the very least they should do a permanent fix to the trouble spot which their inspector indicated was not done well. At this point I'm not satisfied, hopefully I will be eventually.

Daniel the sales guy was great. He was knowledgeable, prompt, and professional. I felt that he had a lot of experience and knowledge and would have felt very comfortable hiring them. I got 8 bids for my 4000 sq. foot home with a very steep (12/12) pitch roof with 50 squares of roofing material. They came in tied for 2nd as far as pricing. I paid about $30k and they were $36k which was around the average quote. I would definitely recommend getting a bid from them. I think they would have done a very good job. Daniel gave me the quote on the spot which was the only person who did so. I think they do a lot of bids and jobs so he's very efficient with his time, which I like. I would have gone with Valentine if they were the low bid as I really liked the company I ended up going with. It would have been tough call if they both had the same bid.

Did a great job. I felt the price was unreasonable. He was only here about 45 minutes.

it took a while to get started, since they're a busy company. once started, they were punctual and did a great job! the roof looks great, like it's always been there! a very good choice.

It took valentine roofing three weeks to complete my job. But during that three weeks we had torrential rains and snow twice. The crew did an absolutely unbelievable job of keeping everything watertight . The crew is the absolutely most professional people I've ever dealt with and would hire him again in a split second. They cleaned up after themselves at the end of every day to the point of being a little to clean in a job progress. They kept me completely informed of everything that was going on during the entire reroof. It was well worth the wait to get valentine roofing to reroof my house. Get on their list early so you don't have to wait until December to get your House reroofed like I did. Shame on me. I couldn't be happier. The utmost and professionalism. Everything went just fine and within schedule.

I didn't find anyone else that I was comfortable with and our need wasn't immediate. So I tried contacting them again thru Angie's List -no response. After a few weeks I tried again thru their own website- again no response.

He was very good. He was never over powering. The only thing that bothered me was they didn't have enough supplies to start on the day they were suppose to and he said he couldn't start until the next day. They left the ladder against the side of my house overnight. Other than that, they did a good job. I don't know who didn't order the supplies in the first place. I feel like the business office couldn't get their act together. The workers themselves did well. When it was all said and done, they cleaned up as they went along, but the last day they pulled their trailer and left and I had to power wash the driveway because there was glass left from the trailer. The roof does look good and is not leaking. Someone did come out and did a final inspection a week later and that was good.

When soliciting bids for a new roof, Valentine Roofing (notably, John Anderson) had the most buttoned-up pitch. They were not going to be the cheapest bid, but pitched the best service/install (all employees are W-9, ie aren't picked up at Home Depot parking lot, etc.). Having had bad experiences with the integrity of contractors in the past, I was willing to pay more for quality service and honesty. I met with John in January of 2015 and after reviewing options/bids and a forecasted March install, sent in my 10% deposit cheque. Once they got 10%-down, I didn't hear from them for weeks. Everyone's busy, I get that, but usually when you cash a cheque to schedule an install appointment, you follow-up with your customer. Once I was able to get ahold of Valentine Roofing, the earliest install was May. Not a quick turnaround. That lapse in service would've been acceptable if everything else went smoothly. Come install date the roofers arrive, very professional and accommodating. They demo'd the roof and Stoneway roofing dropped off supplies via a crane-truck. I had told John Anderson during his pitch that a prior experience with another roofer in Skagit County resulted in paying for a certain quality of shingle while they had tried to install a cheaper version. I told him part of the reason I was going with a higher bid was because I trusted that Valentine would not try to play me like that. Well, materials dropped off, I check to make sure I got the 'CertainTeed Landmark Premium with Mountain Ridge' that I was paying for. Instead, on my roof was 'CertainTeed Landmark Pro', a cheaper option. I called John and asked why this happened and he blamed Stoneway Roofing (supply company) for the mix-up. Here's why I don't believe him or Valentine Roofing - the Landmark Pro option didn't come 'with Mountain Ridge' as one of Valentine's options. But, with the Landmark Pro, they delivered 'Mountain Ridge', clearly trying to install a cheaper shingle than I was paying for. The best part of all of this is the dumpster was delivered after the delivery of the incorrect materials, so when the truck came back to remove the 'Landmark Pro' and deliver the 'Landmark Premium', the crane couldn't reach the roof. So, they spent half-a-day sourcing a truck large enough to do-so, pushing completion into a 3rd day. That was mild solace for being lied to. Once Valentine was called on their bs, the crew that installed/cleaned-up did a fantastic job. I would hire them directly, if I could. Finally, to add insult to injury, we were told the dumpster would be removed the day after the roof was completed. That didn't happen, so we had a dumpster in front of our driveway for a weekend. Valentine blamed the dumpster-company, saying it was out of their hands. Moral of this story is: Valentine has a good crew that knows how to put on a roof. And John Anderson is a great frontman for them. But, you gotta protect yourself and against these guys who operate with zero integrity, as they know they're not going to get you back as a customer for 20-25 years, so why not try to scam a little more margin out of you?

Excellent! Everyone from the salesman and office staff to the gentleman that came out to do the work were very nice and professional. The roof and gutters look great!

Professional from the first phone call to my last invoice call. They were detail oriented in the bid and in their quality of work. I couldn’t be happier with my new roof and with my choice in roofing company.

We signed the contract in June and we were told that the job would be done in early September. They postponed a few times and finally came out to do the job in mid-October...two days before the impending stormageddon windstorm. The two guys that came out were courteous, hard-working and knocked the job out in a day and a half. We waited to remove the gutters until after the storm and then had them removed. We then had the house painted (which took a few weeks since October was one of the rainiest months on record) and then had the gutters installed. They were also courteous and professional. I talked regular with Natalie in the production department. She was on the ball and helpful with the changing schedules. The only reason i mention the schedule shift is that the plan to get the house painted after roofing and before gutters was in danger of being rained out entirely and caused a bit more stress than it could have.

Their quality was visible from our raised rear deck and from the street from the start of the project. Eddy and his crew cleared the old shingles on the back half of our home the first day on site. It rained non-stop for the next few days. I had absolutely no concerns as the top quality underlayment and other protective measures taken, secured the roof even before the shingles could be layed down. Their speciaized tacking prevented seepage onto the roof deck. Valentines' employees worked extremely hard at giving us the perfection we can only hope for in any endeavor of consequence undertaken in life. The Presidential shingle has a striking pattern when viewed from any angle. The quality of both the materials and the workmanship are unmistakable. The term '50 Year Warranty' is loosely spoken and thrown about. They have given us the best 50 year warranty on the market. That is a fact. Should we ever decide to sell transfer or bequeathe this home, I believe the next owner will remain secure in the perfection of this roof. We had the painters come in after you finished. They complained that they should have painted before we re-roofed. I explained that the roofing could be critical come winter, but that the painting at this time was not essential to the well-being of the home. I told the painters that their work needed to match the quality of the roof. Also, I told them that they were to tape all of the new top-quality metal before painting, and not to drop paint on the roof. They complied. We could only paint two thirds of the house during good weather, but those two thirds painted, add to and high-light the job Valentine Roofing has done, while this roof highlights the job the painters have done! Perfection begets perfection. Therefore, we have recommended Valentine Roofing anytime, any one, mentions that they need a roof. The bid was comparable to others I received. I felt confident because the estimator explained what was going to be done and he followed through on every thing that I was told would be done. I will call Valentine Roofing, Inc. when I am ready for a new roof.
