I had to call twice. The first time I called was the end of the week before Labor Day. They said they would come out the following week to do an estimate, but that did not happen. So I called the first of the following week and Brian, one of their estimators came out to take a look. He emailed the estimate to me.

Wanted $800 for what I eventually did by myself in 3 hours. I didn't know these folks made $270 per hour.

The crew arrived on schedule, worked diligently and cleaned up very well after themselves. They were knowledgeable and careful not to damage any of our other plantings. A positive experience from our perspective.

Mike, the owner was able to come out quickly and give me an estimate. Within 3 days he personally came out and ground up my stump, and the chipper came out later that same day. The work performed was excellent and the price was cheaper than other quotes I had recieved for the same work. I will not go anywhere else for my tree work.

The work was done well and in a timely manner. We hardly noticed that they were at the house; everything was cleaned up when we got home. Mike had previously come out to measure our gate to see if the stump grinder could make it though & told us he thought it wouldn't be a problem. However, when the person came a few days later to try to get it in, it was too narrow. They had to cut the stumps out by hand (or with a chainsaw?). I assumed that would be more expensive, but the total was less than the estimate ($475-$525).

I was very pleased with the efficient and friendly manner in which I was served. The cost was reasonable and the job was completed to my satisfaction. I would certainly recommend Emerald Tree Service.

I made an appointment with Mike for 8am and he never showed. When I called to ask about it he said he would be there in an hour, no apology. He didn't show or call and that was the last I heard from him.

The estimator came out right away and gave me a price on the spot. They were able to schedule me in the next week. The day came and they very quickly and neatly took down all the trees, which were located in a small backyard and close to fences and outbuildings. Since I was having the area excavated anyway, I didn't have them grind the stumps or haul the wood away. They were non-invasive to the property and cleaned up chips and debris that flew over to my adjacent property. UPDATE: I've had Evergreen come out on two other occasions (in 2008 and 2009) after this initial visit to prune trees and have come to the conclusion that while they excel at taking trees down, they very much need direction for aesthetic pruning. You should be on hand to oversee the work if you hire them to do this kind of pruning. Also, they failed miserably when asked to transplant a young Arbutus 'Marina'. Arbutus is tricky to transplant anyway, but the transplantation job Evergreen did was awful. The root ball was extremely small and the tree wasn't secured into the shallow hole that was dug. Consequently the tree fell down with roots exposed, twice. They came out and tried to fix it but the tree died about a month later. Not recommended for transplantation.

I was very pleased with the work. Owner and crew were competent.

Fully removed a deeply established apple tree that was dropping hundreds of apples in our and our neighbors' yards. Ground down the stump and removed all large pieces. They did a great job and did not damage the nearby fences. The holly bush was also trimmed significantly and looks great.

The estimated price was $420. It was done within a few days of the estimate. Everyone was polite. They cleaned up adequately. The job took about an hour, at most, and required three people plus equipment.

Mike and his team were great. They did a very professional job. There was one bad thing. We agreed to a $400 price on the phone, but when I got the bill, it was $450. I talked to them on the phone, but they wouldn't change the price back. Get everything in writing!

THE PRICE WAS REASONABLE, ESPECIALLY FOR THE BIG TREE THAT THEY TOOK OUT, IT WAS INLINE WITH WHAT EVERYONE ELSE WAS CHARGING. WE WERE PLEASANTLY SURPRISED WITH THE PRICE FOR THE FRONT TREES. THEY WERE VERY PROFESSIONAL AND DID OUTSTANDING WORK. THEY CLEANED UP AFTER THEY LEFT.

WELL IT WAS A PRETTY BRIEF INTERACTION. I HAD A COUPLE BIDS AND THEY WERE THE BEST BID. THEY CAME OUT AND DID THE JOB AND IT WAS OVER.
