They were very efficient and did the job well. Their price was competitive and the crew was excellent. It was a big job and they did the job quickly and cleaned up very well. They were easy to work with and showed up on time.

I couldn't be more pleased with this company. The estimator, Alan, came promptly and thoroughly explained what they were going to do and how much it would cost (estimate was spot on). They sent me a long list of local customers so I could drive around and look at roofs, to help me decide on exactly what I wanted. The crew was professional and quick and paid attention to details. It rained on day two so they waited until it stopped at noon and then worked until 7 to finish the job in the two days promised. I was not here much when they were actually working so I did not interact much with the crew. They left no mess, and no plants harmed. Other than the beautiful new roof, you couldn't tell they had been there. I did not pay until the owner came a few days later for a final walk through to make sure I was satisfied. He answered all my questions about roofs. He is very knowledgeable and takes great pride in his company. I mentioned a missing vent that I had not been clear about wanting, and he said they would come back and put it in for me, no charge, and they did. I reviewed their website to help me decide what company to go with; I was especially impressed with their business model. This company knows what it's doing.

After two proprosals I went with A Better Roofing Company. The representative was very professional, patient with questions and gave thorough answers. After the usual inspection of the roof he gave his proprosal which was better than the first two. After completion the manager came out and did a final inspection including popping his head into the attic to make sure all was o.k.

It went great. The crew showed up on time and worked hard all day. My wife works at home so it was noisy for her, but they were as considerate of her as they could be.From start to finish the job took two full days. We had a leakage issue a few days later where some flashing was installed improperly, failing to properly direct the rain away from the wall. They were out the first thin in the morning after I called and fixed the problem quickly. My new roof is sound and look wonderful.

They were fantastic. They had to come in 4 times, they were here the day after we called them each time and they finally fixed it. They did this for free. They are timely, always very professional and told us what they were doing. They asked us to call them if we had any problems.

I received three bids from highly rated companies on Angies list. All bids were similar in scope (see exception below) but A Better Roofing Company came in with the lowest price. They offered a $1500 incentive for a quick decision, which may have reflected an opening in their schedule. I was prepared to make a quick decision so the incentive went a long way toward making the decision. We signed the contract on Friday. The material was delivered on Monday. Work began on Tuesday (with a crew of four). The job was completed satisfactorily by Thursday. They have obviously done this type of work before. Unlike the competing bids, A Better Roofing Company did NOT include the installation on downspouts to go with the new gutter system. They explained that this type of work can vary significantly from job to job in unforseen difficulties and lies outside of their core competency. So even though I need to resolve the downspout issue outside of the base contract, I feel that the lower cost of the project will allow me to do that with money to spare.

It was an excellent experience from the start to finish. The estimator, Alan was sincere and helpful. The crew of three worked really hard from 8am to 5pm for two days to finish the job. We appreciated them taking such a long time to clean up after the roof was done, making sure there was no debris or nails behind. The roof is beautiful!

The estimator Alan was great. Was there on time, detailed what I did and did not need, was very informative and answered all my follow up questions very well. I was working so just saw the installers at the end of the 2 day process, they were very polite and hard working. When they were done the place was spotless. After the roof was finished I needed electrical mast work done. Michael has even offered to come back and make sure the electricians sealed the mast and guide wires correctly to prevent leaks. Would not hesitate to recommend them to others.

Excellent work from start to finish. The start was "flexible" because of the weather, but that's understandable. The work was completed in one day. The price was competitive, but not the lowest bid. We chose the company based on reputation, Angie's List and BBB reports. We also called references.

A Better Roofing Company did an excellent job. They were on time and they did quality work. They came back after the job was finished to double check and make sure that everything was correct.

It was a very professional job. I was satisfied with the quality of job. They could have done a better job communicating the schedule and progress.

They were nice, hard working fellows. Only one spoke English to me, but he was well spoken and polite. The supervisor checked the work at the end before asking for any money. One fan vent had been put in the wrong place (right measure instead of left), so they came back the next morning and fixed that. They left the place very clean and neat. I have only found one scrap of old shingle on the ground, under a bush. Really appreciate their efficient process.

They were prompt, cleaned everything up. They did not disturb plants. Came when they said they would. It was excellent - one of the best experiences I've ever had with a contractor.

After 2 different bids from other companies I had almost given up. That?s when I found a better roofing company. The rep came by and talked about what they offered and reviewed my expectations of the project. After 5 minutes it was obvious this was ?a better roofing company?.

It went great. I had been anxious since I bought my house that I needed a new roof (that was 8.5 years ago) and moss was growing on my roof (I took that to be a further sign that that was so.) So, I gathered my courage to ask for an estimate. Alan came exactly on the appointed day and time. Took a few minutes to assess my needs and then rang my bell to give me his assessment. I held my breath. Alan (an upright and engaging man) began . . . "the economy is not good as you know . . . I'd love to sell you a roof now, but I can't . . . you don't need one for another 7-8 years." Was I happy? Yes! He could have told me otherwise, but didn't. He did recommend that I get the moss off my roof and that would extend its life (gosh, that didn't help him either). I got the moss off and the gutters cleaned that afternon and slept better that night. (PS, used another "Angie's List" company that same day to clean the moss and my gutters. I've reported favorably on "Capital Cleaning" as well.)

They were very responsive during the inspection and estimate. They made the lowest bid by 15-20%. It was raining on Monday the first day of scheduled work, so they postponed, which was expected. The next few days were sunny, but they didn't start the work until Thursday or Friday, when I would have expected it to start on the first nice day after the original start day. That was our only complaint. Once the work started, they finished pretty quickly and were extremely professional. Our skylight broke during the project, probably due to vibrations on the roof. They cleaned it up completely, sealed it up and then replaced it quickly and with no charge. We were very happy with the company and the work. Would absolutely work with them again.

The salesman (AL) was great, they worked very hard, and their workmanship was great. I would highly recommend them.

We were very pleased with this company. They were the lowest estimate we received. They also had an "A" rating on Angie's List, so I felt confident. Their estimator really helped with understanding the material. We had picked it out in advance, but we got their help getting substantial color samples. They used a crew of 3 people. This is the only issue I had with them. It felt like it could have gone faster with a larger crew and I had a pregnant wife who really needed her sleep. The crew was very polite and courteous. They recognized that the original peak shingles they were going to use would not work and they used a more expensive peak shingle while keeping to the original estimate. The only unintended damage was due to material that fell from the skylights when they were being removed. I wish we had been advised to remove all breakables from the area. All of their other precautions were sensible and we followed them. They did not advise us about the potential of things falling from the skylight when the old ones were removed. It took about 12 days in total. They worked all day, starting early and working till dusk. Their foreman came by every other day to inspect and deliver extra needed parts. They did things that I would not have thought of such as positioning all the vents on the roof so that they cannot be seen from the street. The inspector walked the roof with me and gave me set of maintenance recommendations. Unlike other companies, this company did not bring a portable toilet. We asked them if they'd like to use our facilities and they did this very, very seldom. It was a nice job and I would be glad to hire or recommend this company again.

They bid and completed the job in the professional way one would hope to expect from everyone. The name, albeit a bit cheesy, is descriptive. The literature they handed out with the estimate was a nice package that leaned toward instructional more than promotional, which was appreciated. The project also included a wrap-up visit to go over the roof and with me and point out all the features of the finished product first-hand.

An appointment was made for an estimate. They were punctual for that appointment. A second appointment was made to finalize the contract. They kept that appointment as well. They asked if they could start a little early and told me they would finish in a day. They came in two days early, and indeed finished in a day. They protected the landscaping, suggested that I remove wall hangings, and cleaned up after they were done. They also said that any rotted plywood would be replaced as an extra to the contract. I agreed to this. They replaced a single piece of plywood. An appointment was made a few days later for a walk through and payment. They said that that if ever another contractor needed to modify the roof for any additions, I should call them up so they can make sure that the roof isn't compromised, free of charge. It's raining as I write this, and so far...so good.

Every aspect of this transaction was positive. Great communication, skilled workers, and no surprises. Re-roofing our large house took less than 2 days. The workers left the area cleaner than when they arrived, right down to the pleasant tow-truck operator who hauled away the dumpster at the end of the job (then scanned the driveway with a metal detector for nails before he departed). We are 100% happy with A Better Roofing's work.

Overall, I am pretty happy and glad I went with them for my roof. The crew was good about sticking to their work time and cleaned up the premises everyday before they left. When working around the skylight, a tiny strip of metal fell into the house and they were prompt in calling me and giving me a heads up -- really important when you have a little kid in the house. The roof was finished on schedule. Through the whole process, everyone in the company I talked to was professional and courteous. No upselling at any point and were good about working through any issues I brought up. One small nitpick -- I wish they had warned me about the debris falling into my garage. I had a bunch of uncovered things which ended up with wood chips and nails on it. The crew did clean up most of the garage so I can't complain, but a little advanced warning would have helped. Other than that smooth execution overall and well worth the money.

The company performed the roof and skylight replacement in a very professional and punctual manner. The project took one working day longer than the original estimate because one of the new skylights was too small and had to be re-ordered. The crew cleaned up thoroughly after the work was completed. There was no damage to the house or to the mature landscaping surrounding the house.
