"I hired Ben through Thumbtack and I couldn't be happier with Ben's work so I thought I would spread the word. I am so grateful for the quality of work he performed in replacing my sink and faucet. He was skillful, meticulous, punctuation and fast. He is professional and understands the art of great customer service and is passionate about his work. I feel as if I found a treasure in Ben and I will hire him for future projects and other work I need to get done."

"THIS IS THE COMPANY TO HIRE. The facia of our home had a curved molding throughout and had to be removed and replaced with a straight facia in order to attach the gutters. As it turned out various parts of our home required 2 and 3 long wood heavy boards. The company sent out 3 teams and these hard working gentlemen did a PROFESSIONAL, PERFECT JOB. MY neighbors were so impressed, stating they observed this team working non stop. Very professional, courteous, knowledgeable, HARD WORKING. Left our property as they found it - CLEAN. Also important is that they're competitively priced."

With over a dozen different methods of installation, Worth's can custom fit almost any building with an installation best suited for durability and appearance. Worth's provides year-round installations to suit year-round conditions. All installations are designed and installed to withstand New England winters. Worth's takes pride in providing customers with clear, accurate and easy to understand quotes.

"We had Worth[less] install snow guards on our standing seam roof in Dec. of 2018 (13 months/1 season ago). A large section has just fallen off and appears to be pulling off other sections while also causing damage to our expensive standing seam roof and seamless gutters, both of which are new within the last 2 years. I assumed they would be very responsive and quick to remedy the problem but at first they said, "we can get someone there in the spring" followed by, "we don't really have anyone working right now" then, "there is snow and rain in the forecast, so maybe next week but probably later" and finally, "that shouldn't happen and never does, can you send some pictures and we can get back to you tomorrow?". Apart from our own safety concerns, our tenants, guests, mailmen/women, and pets would come into harm's way for a few more months if left to Worth[less]. For those considering Worth[less] for any work because the price seems appealing just remember this: good work isn't cheap and cheap work isn't good! Find someone who stands by their work or, at the very least, fixes things when they fail."

Snow Removal questions, answered by experts

DIY snow removal is entirely free, except for the cost of a shovel. However, it may not always be the best option for large driveways and areas with heavy snowfall; it’s strenuous work and can take a long time. Other wallet-friendly ways to remove snow include rock salt, hot water, a de-icing agent, or a leaf blower.

Before firing up your snowblower, ensure that essential switches are in the correct starting position. Take a moment to double-check the throttle, fuel shut-off, and choke, ensuring they're firmly set to the "on" position. Precision in verifying each switch's alignment is crucial, so don't rush through this critical step.

When starting the engine, you typically leave the choke on a snowblower in the "choke" or "closed" position. After starting, let the engine run for a few minutes to warm up. Then, gradually open the choke, moving it to the "open" or "run" position, allowing more air into the engine and transitioning to a normal fuel-air mixture. The exact duration varies based on the snowblower model and ambient temperature, but as a general rule, you should open the choke once the engine has stabilized and runs smoothly, typically within a few minutes.

Yes, but it works best with lightweight snowblowers, the single-stage models or electric versions. Also, you need to have a rubberized intake edge on the ground and preferably rubberized auger paddles, not a metal version. Otherwise you may chip or damage the surface as you work. When it doubt, let the snow lie.

You can also use a snow blower on leveled gravel, but only if you carefully adjust the intake height so it doesn’t kick up the gravel and turn it into flying missiles.

While it is possible to remove snow from your roof without a professional, we don’t recommend it. Accessing your roof can be a dangerous task; pair that with slippery ice and snow that can be heavy to move, and you have a very risky problem on your hands. This dangerous situation becomes more high-risk when there’s a snowstorm or your roof has a steep pitch. To ensure that everyone stays safe, be sure to call a roof snow removal specialist to complete this job with the proper tools and equipment.
