We manufacture Advanced Energy Panels (AEPs). AEPs are a retrofit for historic windows or any window people can't afford or don’t wish to replace. AEPs are interior window insulating panels and can be installed in any building –office, home or industrial. AEPs have a higher insulation and air sealing rating and provide greater comfort than most replacement windows, yet they are a fraction of the cost. AEPs are custom made to fit over existing openings, protecting, preserving and improving your existing windows.

Stonewall Home Repair started in 2009 3 years after my father retired and sold his company. Being in the business for 15 years and growing up around the trades, I have a unique view. I am a college graduate with associates in computer science and a certification in Plumbing from Ashworth College. I am a small company and believe that your values are your most important commodity. Therefore offering you the best service at just the right price for any budget. In doing so, my rates are low in comparison to bigger companies because simply put, I don't have the overhead. Im in it to provide a great service and self satisfaction knowing that you, my customers and friends are happy and that is my reward. My family will tell you first hand that when it comes to my work, it has to be perfected each and every time and if its not, then thats on me. I do run a 24 hr emergency call and that will run you $85 minimum. I do contract pricing but also hourly as well. Depending on the job, if I need additional help I will run up to 2 employees, however its mostly myself, this is another reason my rates are most reasonable. Typically I require upon contract 1/2 the total bill up front and the remaining balance upon completion. I offer free estimates, $25 Service Fees, 100% satisfaction and a friend for life. So from my home to yours, god bless and I will hopefully hear from you soon. Thank You

Egress Windows questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can install a bay window in an existing house. You’ll need to have a structural engineer draw up plans to add the necessary support to your exterior load-bearing walls and a general contractor to make the changes to the framing around the new wall opening. This will cost an average of $3,000. After that work is done, a window installer can set the new bay window in place.

Egress windows are typically required for basements with habitable space or living quarters. Not all basements or lower levels require egress windows. However, egress windows are required in homes with living spaces such as bedrooms and living rooms in a basement. The International Residential Code and International Building Code require sleeping rooms to have a specific size egress window. Check your local building codes to confirm the requirements in your area.

Egress windows can significantly add value to your home. Adding an egress window allows you to market your basement as a living space, increasing your home’s value. In most cases, the increase in value will allow you to fully recover the installation cost, if not more, when it comes time to sell.

An egress window is similar to a regular window. However, this type of window opens fully to allow people to escape the home or rescue personnel to enter the home if an emergency occurs. Egress windows are required in all finished basements before they can be considered a living space.

A good U-factor for windows is 0.30 or lower, but they can range from 0.20 to 1.20. A general rule of thumb when it comes to the U-factor is that the lower, the better.
