"It went swimmingly well the consultant was very helpful her advice was very agreeable to both my pocket and backyard. Her suggestion to plant trees at the bottom of the slope in my backyard never occurred to me. The trees are both beautiful and functional they provide a natural curtain of privacy between my backyard and my neighbor's yard while holding the slope in place. The workers were punctual and went right to work finishing within the short time the consultant promised. Very pleased very relieved. No more weeds on the hill and a beautiful backdrop of gorgeous cypress trees."

Customers say: True professional

"It was an excellent experience with Premium Drainage from start to finish. After receiving a few quotes/ideas to manage flowing and pooling water in our backyard, it was obvious to us that Premium Drainage offered the best solution. During the time before the work started (they were scheduling about 6 months out when we booked), we contacted Premium Drainage about additional work we wanted to include in the project. They were very helpful and communicative with this and we were able to do all of the work at the same time! Adrian and his team were very professional, punctual, organized, and responsive. Rene and the crew that completed our project were fantastic! They disturbed as little of the yard as possible (which is impressive considering they needed to dig across the entire thing!), laid topsoil and planted grass seed after completion. Everything is working exactly as Adrian said it would. We are very pleased with the outcome and have already recommended Premium Drainage to friends and family! "

Delaware River Jack stone filling in bare dirt areas. Forming a stone bed.
In this project, we transformed a bare dirt area by using Blue Ice stone in the corner. Along the patio border, we added Delaware River Jack to seamlessly connect the entire stone bed around the pool.

"This is a second time I hired Lazaro because he did a superb job on pavement. This time, a bit hesitating to call him because it's landscaping work rather than hardscaping. However they did a great job removing weeds, adding top soil and planting sod and bushes with mulch on front yard. On side yard, they removed weeds, added top soil and planted seeds. I like his prompt response, reliability and commitment. They have a solid work habit. Strongly recommend."

"After reading several reviews online from various companies, I decided to call ET General Contractor Inc to get a quote for work in our backyard. Our backyard was in dire need of help. It had a slight steep slope with ground vines, random bushes, tree roots and weeds. Julio came by and assessed the yard. He gave us options on what he could do to make it more habitable and prices with each option. I found his prices to be fair, so we went with him. His team cleared mostly every thing with a bobcat and regraded my backyard. The team then installed sod and laid down river rock on one side of my house. They completed the work in 2 days. All in all, I'd say the work Julio and his team did was great. Our yard has been transformed and has never looked better!"

"Purchased deal - $99 for 4 hours of landscaping. Had to ask Angies to get in touch with Benitez as didn't receive response from service provider in more than a week since I purchased the deal and after that received a call from Benitez where he suggested that $99 wasn't enough for much. Received a quote for $380 for small front and backyard (maybe total of ~100 sq ft of weeding and mulching) and went ahead with it. Not sure if $380 is fair but initially felt like bait and switch. Quality of work is good.

FAQs for weed maintenance projects in Hamilton, VA

The cost to reseed or overseed a lawn is about $1,050 on average, ranging from $450 to $1,700, depending on lawn size, seed type, and location. Popular seed types for residential lawns include bahia, fescue, and Bermuda. Keep in mind that it costs $0.10 to $0.20 per square foot to seed or overseed a lawn. Additional cost factors may include:

  • Fertilization: $80–$400

  • Soil testing: $700–$2,100

  • Yard cleanup and leaf removal: $200–$560

  • Treating weeds: $110–$325

  • Mowing: $50–$210

On average, the cost of lawn fertilization is $250, ranging from $80 to $400, depending on the size of the lawn, its current condition, additional treatments, number of applications, fertilizer type, and location. Keep in mind that labor, tools, and equipment make up 80% to 90% of the total cost of lawn fertilization. Additional lawn treatment options include:

  • Lime treatment: $100–$150 per 1,000 square feet

  • Crabgrass treatment: $30–$80

  • Grub treatment: $30–$80

  • Mulching: $150–$400

  • Dethatching: $265–$295

Landscapers typically charge $25 to $50 per person per hour, which equals around $50 to $100 per hour for a two-person crew. These rates can vary depending on your location, the size of staff needed for the job, and overall job type. For example, a larger crew will be needed for structural additions and hardscaping versus planting flowers.

When it comes to landscapers, licensing laws vary. Landscaping architects are required to be licensed in all 50 states, whereas traditional landscaping contractors are not typically required to hold a certification. You’ll likely be working with a landscaping contractor for most residential projects. If you are redesigning your whole yard or adding in hardscape features, you will work with a landscaping architect at some point during the project. Be sure to check our state licensing tool to review the local landscaper guidelines.

As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:

  • The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check

  • Required to have applicable state and local licenses

  • Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review

  • Paying to advertise their services

  • Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi

Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.

Landscaping costs around $3,500 but varies widely from $200 to $14,000. Factors that play a part in your final landscaping price tag include:

  • Location

  • Yard size

  • Project size

  • Materials

  • Land preparation

  • Type of landscaping

Considering so many factors, it’s not surprising that the overall costs can differ. A typical landscaping project is flower bed installation, which averages between $800 and $3,000. However, landscape lighting installation is a higher-end project, with a price tag of $2,000 to $6,000
