Family owner and operated since 1959, Richards Heating & Air Conditioning Co. has been designing, installing and servicing residential air conditioning and heating systems in the Washington Metropolitan area. We install “total comfort conditioning” systems to meet the unique configurations of individual homes, recommending systems that fit each customer’s needs. At Richards, we are proud of our work and are dedicated to maintaining a reputation in the industry and the community as reliable experts. Richards is a fully licensed and insured mechanical, gas fitting, and electrical contractor. We qualify in the installation and service of all aspects of heating & air conditioning systems. Our service department also offer three levels of service agreements to meet your needs.

Description of Work: They repaired a heat pump system in a very timely manner however I was gouged on the price. To be fair, they quoted a parts and labor price up front, and I agreed, however, once I learned what the part actually cost and the minimal amount of time it took for them to install, it was very clear that they took me for a ride. I called them three times to discuss the matter and never got a call back (thus the F for professionalism). I then disputed part of the cost on my credit card hoping that would trigger them to talk to me. But no, they did still would not engage. All I was looking for was a simple explanation to justify their price. Got nothing. Buyer beware. This company is now on my personal black list forever.

Description of Work: Install new HVAC System. Great teamwork and They will not try to oversell you on more than what you need. I had to ask them to upgrade to a higher model as I wanted some of the high-end features like Wi-Fi controls. I paid $7,500 originally but I received a $1,000 rebate from manufacturer. I have a rental unit that will need a new system soon and I will use Richards. Highly recommend.
