"This is a review of an exterior gas line installation, approx. 60 feet of poly Line and 40 feet of black iron pipe, performed by Chris Freer 6/29/19. The gas line is for a fire pit that will be situated on my backyard patio. Chris ran the black iron pipe from the gas meter on an exterior wall of my house, 40* to a steel riser that transitions 18 inches underground to IPS poly gas pipe, 60 feet to the backyard patio concrete slab. The riser coming up through the patio slab is stubbed off for later installation of the fire pit. I highly recommend Chris Freer for the following reasons: 1) The workmanship was excellent. The finished job looks perfect, holds pressure and passed inspection with praise from the inspector. 2) Chris provided me professional advice toward the design of the system at no charge, also loaned me his demolition hammer / blade to dig the 18 inch deep trench, loaned me his compressor to facilitate the inspection of the system, and let me work along with him to learn as we went, yet charged only half of the next closest bid I received from other contractors. 3) Chris is competent, professional, good natured and great to work with."

Pool Table Assembly questions, answered by experts

It’s a good idea to wait at least 24 hours after opening your pool before you swim in it. Pool opening often involves shocking the water, and the chemical levels need to come down a bit before it’s safe to swim. You can continue testing your water pH and chlorine levels if you’re in a rush. It’s wise to wait until your chlorine levels drop to under four parts per million (ppm) and you have a water pH of between 7.2 and 7.8. You can artificially lower your water pH to speed up the process.

These pools are cost-effective, customizable, and offer smooth, non-abrasive surfaces.

Generally, you do not need to drain your pool to convert it to a saltwater system. The main exception is if you have used an antibacterial agent containing polyhexamethylene biguanide to sanitize your pool, as these sanitation products do not mix well with saltwater systems. If this is the case, you will need to start fresh. You can either drain the pool or treat the existing water with a high dose of chlorine to remove the antibacterial agent. If you choose the chlorine treatment, wait several days to allow the chlorine to work before proceeding with the conversion. If you are unsure whether this applies to your pool, consult a pool technician.

Pool lights are designed to be safe by protecting swimmers from electrocution. These lights are made with waterproof fixtures and seals to prevent contact with the water.

Electrocution from pool lights is still possible, but rare. Faulty wiring or broken lighting equipment can make lights unsafe, so it’s important to replace lights as needed and have an electrician inspect and upgrade the wiring.

While you shouldn’t notice water that has an appropriate amount of chlorine in it (less than 4 parts per million), you could feel sick from drinking overly chlorinated water. Chlorine exposure can cause nausea, vomiting, coughing, and dizziness. Chronic chlorine exposure (meaning multiple or repeated instances) can make you feel like you have the flu, according to the CDC.
