"Brandon, Tg,were excellent. They were on time, worked well together, let us give feedback, cleaned up as they went along, made sure we knew what was happening during each step. I could not be happier, our shower was 30+ yrs. Pretty bad shape... I am so excited to have a new shower, that I didn't have to wait 2 to 3 weeks for... Cost was very affordable... "Getting a walk in tub is expensive no matter who you use. My experience thus far is with installation only and I must say my install went great. It has been over a month and no issues with my tub so I cannot comment on repair process with American Standard."

"Aaron Paxton did a good job of installing grab bars in my bathroom shower and by the toilet. He found that the screws which I had that had come with the grab bars were not reliable. He used his own sturdy ones in place of the ones I had. He lined them up with the studs on one end and used anchors on the other end. He was familiar with the task at hand."

A bathroom without a bathtub is called a half bath or powder room. This type of bathroom commonly contains a toilet and a sink and is smaller than a standard bathroom that includes a bathtub or shower. Half baths or powder rooms are commonplace on the first story of a home and are ideal as a guest toilet.

How long shower valves last depends on the type you have, how much use it gets, the hardness of your water, and whether the valve was installed correctly. Good-quality brass shower valves are sturdy and last around 20 years, while lower-quality plastic valves last 4 to 5 years. Since shower valves wear out over time, you can proactively replace yours after 15 years or whenever you update your showerhead.

Signs that your shower valve has gone bad include a variety of issues with water flow and temperature. Common symptoms are low water pressure, inconsistent water temperature, and dripping or leaking from the handle or showerhead when the water is off. You might also notice that the knob is difficult to turn or won't turn at all. Another key indicator of a bad diverter valve is water coming from both the tub spout and the showerhead simultaneously, or being unable to switch the water flow between the two fixtures. In advanced cases, the water may not turn on at all. These are all signs that the valve may need to be replaced.

A hard-to-turn shower handle is usually caused by corrosion or mineral buildup, which clogs the assembly and creates friction inside the valve. Remove the handle and look for signs of corrosion—rust-colored build-up—or mineral accumulation—white build-up. For corrosion, replacing the shower handle is your best bet. For mineral build-up, soak the handle in a solution of water and white vinegar (2:1) for an hour before reinstalling it.

If you don’t replace your shower cartridge, it will eventually fail. As a shower cartridge starts to wear down, your showerhead will leak. This can foster the growth of mold and mildew. It can also corrode the inside of the shower valve. You may start having temperature and water pressure issues with your shower. Luckily, a replacement is relatively straightforward for a pro.
