"Red frog garage doors was awesome to work with. They installed a new motor on my garage door and now I can open and close my garage from my phone. They even set a timer on it so my garage door closes automatically after 10 minutes, I love it. It’s so convenient. Highly recommend this company!!!!"

"Excellent workmanship, but above all, I feel that the technician knew his work and went to the "root" of the problem, which allow us to understand what and why the work needed to be done and how to accomplish it. The prices he quoted and options laid out, allow us, the customers, to make a final decisions with understanding and finality. Thank you for having the integrity to inform us and do the work and repairs correctly the first time. I would highly recommend this company to any and all of my friends and family and anyone else seeking repairs on their garage door opener systems. Fran Christensen"

"My garage door spring broke on a Sunday. Dan called me discussed the issue and arrived first thing Monday morning. He did a comprehensive estimate that showed me what each part would cost and what needed the most attention. I appreciated the extra time as we talked through options on proper setup and what kinds of garage door openers would be available for my aging system. He also answered all my questions on a new door if needed. He was fast, clean and thorough. Experience paid off for sure, and the install went as expected with no issues."

"I called Advance Door and they scheduled Nick to come to my house on a Saturday. He did a fantastic job and really knew what he was doing. He fixed the springs on the garage door and then fixed several rollers that needed to be replaced as well. When we had some jolts the next week, Nick came back right away and fixed what was causing the Issue in less than five minutes. I would highly recommend Advanced Door and Nick who services our door!"

Garage Doors questions, answered by experts

Yes, garage cabinets are worth it to organize the tools, supplies, equipment, and gear you’ve been storing in the garage. Garage cabinets provide a great way to declutter your space while also preserving your valuables—keeping them free from dust, debris, and various weather elements. Not to mention, garage cabinets also elevate the look of your garage, which can prove beneficial when you’re looking to sell your home.

Ensures adherence to local building codes and customized designs to fit personal needs.

Garage door insulation can last anywhere from 20 to 100 years depending on the type of insulation. Cellulose has the shortest lifespan coming in at between 20 and 30 years, while spray foam, mineral wool, and fiberglass can last between 80 and 100 years with proper maintenance.

Humidity plays a role in how long more susceptible insulation materials—like fiberglass—last. Once fiberglass batts reach the 15-year mark, you'll need to routinely inspect your insulation to ensure that it is in mint order.

The difference between vinyl and rubber garage door bottom seals comes down to cost, flexibility, and climate. Vinyl is the budget-friendly option, lasting well in moderate climates and resisting wear and tear. In colder climates, it can get stiff and make installation more difficult. Alternatively, rubber offers more flexibility, even in freezing temperatures, and better sticks to uneven surfaces. Rubber is more expensive but tends to be more adaptable.

The best method for painting a garage door depends on the door's design and the finish you want to achieve. For the most professional-looking finish, especially on doors with panels or intricate details, a paint sprayer is an excellent choice. It can easily get into hard-to-reach places and provide a smooth, even coat.

If you don't have a sprayer, or if your door is flat, a combination of a roller and a brush is the most effective approach. Use a roller for the large, flat sections to cover the area quickly and efficiently. For the best results, experts recommend a roller with a nap between ⅜ and ¾ inches thick; natural fibers can also help ensure an even coat.

A brush is essential for handling the finer details. Use it to paint grooves, angles, small panels, and the edges of the door where you need more control.

Regardless of the tools you use, it's a good idea to step back after the main application to review your work and use a detail brush to touch up any missed spots.
