I have nothing but good things to report. We had had another company give us an estimate for the job, which consisted of tapping into a power line from an outlet near the range, and running a new line to the outlet to be installed in the cupboard over the range. That first company warned us that he would have to cut through the wallboard, and that hole would have to be repaired and repainted by someone other than their installer. The Allgood tech, Chris Schmidt, spent a good amount of time fishing for the wires through the holes cut for the old and new outlets, and completed the job with no damage to the wallboard, saving considerable expense and hassles. He was prompt, extremely courteous, professional, and efficient. He also cleaned up completely after himself. The only evidence that he had been there was the sparkling new outlet in our cupboard.
Description of Work: They installed an electrical outlet in a kitchen cabinet above our range, running a line from a nearby existing outlet.

The electrician was courteous, professional and extremely friendly. Initially, when he first came to give the quote, I was late arriving to my home. He waited for me and greeted me with kindness. He would have preformed the service the same day but it was about to storm. The of the service, he was approximately 30 minutes late due to traffic.

My experience with Dayn and Allgood Electric was excellent. Dayn promptly returned all calls, and was punctual on both visits. His workmanship was great, and it was clear he took pride in his work when removing the old box and installing the new. The materials used were of top quality, and no corners were cut. The price for all the work was very reasonable. The finiished product looks great, and everything was cleaned up. I will use Allgood Electric for future electrical work, and will not hesitate to recommend the company to my friends. Dayn is an asset to the company and a real professional.
Description of Work: We have had problems with lights flickering in various parts of the house. Our house was built in 1973 and Aluminum wiring was used. We had previously been told by an electrician from another company that some nodes on the main breaker box were going bad. This was causing the arcing/flickering. I called Allgood Electric based on reviews from Angie's list. Electrician Dayn from Allgood came to my house. He assessed the situation, made a temporary fix by moving and installing a new breaker. Based on safety concerns, Dayn recommended replacing the box. Dayn then gave me a bid on installing a new main load center breaker box, removing the old box and making sure everything was up to code. Dayn came back to my house at an agreed upon time and completed the work of installing the new breaker box.

Contacted Allgood on 7/6 and left a message; shortly after, the call was returned. The electrician was actually in the area and was able to come by within a few minutes. He assessed the situation and realized he would need to run new wiring and would need a helper. We scheduled a return visit for 7/10. I received a call on 7/10 that the work was finished for the amount we agreed upon. Was able to give them a credit card over the phone and all was good. The only issue is they didn't email me the receipt like they said they would but I haven't followed up on that either.

As part of a kitchen remodeling project, and based on Angie's List reviews, I called Allgood Electric for a quote. The electrical part of our kitchen remodeling project required an electrician to remove the fluorescent lighting under our kitchen cabinets and above the cooktop; then come back to re-install the lights, once the new granite and tile backsplash was installed. Chris came out to quote the job, and we found him to be personable and friendly. His quoted price was in the middle of other quotes that we received. While price was important to us, quality of work was even more important, so we went with Allgood Electric, based on previous Angie's List reviews. While Chris was giving the initial quote to re-install the fluorescent lighting, he asked if we had seen the latest options in under-cabinet lighting for kitchens, and he recommended a lighting store with a showroom, where we could view a display of new kinds of lighting, such as LED and Xenon lights, which could be dimmed. He explained that our fluorescent lights were not only out-dated (from 1982), but that they could not be dimmed - an enhanced feature for our new kitchen. We visited the lighting store that Chris recommended, and decided to go with the recommended LED dimmable lights, although the decision to do so raised the overall cost of our project. Due to unusual circumstances beyond anyone's control (ie: death in the family, need to be out-of-town during our project time-frame, etc.), things did not go according to plan nor schedule with our new light installation, so it took longer than planned to complete the electrical portion of our project. However, the electrical work has been completed, and we are VERY PLEASED with the final out-come. It is now just as we expected and were told that it would be. Again, we understand that things do not always go according to plan, but we have found Allgood Electric to be a highly reputable and honest company, and Troy (the owner) is of the highest level of integrity and ensures professional results. We are thankful to Chris for his recommendation on the change of lighting, which greatly enhanced the look of our new kitchen. We are also thankful to Chris for his workmanship and diligence in completing this project, despite unusual circumstances and delays. And we are appreciative of Troy's high level of responsibility, professionalism and integrity. It speaks volumes for his company. We hope to do business with Allgood Electric for other projects in the future, and we would highly recommend Allgood Electric to anyone needing electrical service or repair!

Allgood has done electrical work for us three times now, and we've never been less than completely satisfied. They're always courteous, professional, friendly, and competent. They're always on time, and finish work at or below estimate. They explain what they're doing as they do it, and you can tell from their enthusiasm that they truly enjoy their work. On this occasion, my A/C went out just as they were leaving. We didn't know it at the time, but the lightning strike had fried the electronics in the thermostat. Chris, the electrician on this visit, promptly volunteered to diagnose the electrical portion of the A/C system at no extra charge--and without me even having to ask. It's truly refreshing to have a skilled trade come to your house, do exactly what you ask, and make the upgrade/installation look like it's always been there. As long as they continue to perform at this exceptional level, I will NEVER hire anybody but Allgood to work on my electrical system.
Description of Work: We had a lightning strike to our house, which did a number on most of our electronics. In hopes of helping prevent another such occurrence, and having hired them twice before with great results, we decided to call on Allgood again to install a surge suppressor on the outside circuit box. Since they were coming anyway, we also had them install additional lighting in the house and garage, as well as a new outlet for our irrigation system control box.

Everything went smoothly and as promptly as could realistically be expected.
Description of Work: There was one day of "phone tag" setting up the appointment for the next day. Once on site, the tech needed about ten minuets to fix things. A GFI button was in a place I didn't know about. he found it right away. "Phone tag" with the dispatcher was not anybody's fault in a real world.

Once it was clear that we needed a replacement breaker panel, we solicited bids from three Angie's rated electricians. All good electric had already seen the situation; the other two came out but only one bid. Allgood had the low bid and scheduled very quickly for July 4. Chris came out a few days earlier to see if (contrary to the other techs) the wiring could be run through a very small ceiling space; he and his asst left the fish line in place to save time. On July 4 he was right on time. Ultimately he called in his assistant and a senior electrician to work on the panel while he worked on the external conduit and tried to consolidate all wiring into the new and shorter line. That was not possible but he showed us how it might be in the future, if we rewire the house. It was necessary to consolidate two small panels into a large one; they gave us one size up in case we wanted to add circuits in the future, or in case we rewired the whole house to grounded three-wire. They explained everything they were doing and were respectful of our solar system. One smoked, but not in the house. They cleaned up properly and were finished about when estimated. Everything works fine.
Description of Work: This is the second work this ALL GOOD ELECTRIC company did; the first time they discovered that the breaker panel inside our house was so old it was a fire hazard. Scheduled on July 4, which was actually convenient for us. Came out a few days earlier to see if they could run wires through a small crawl space. Later replaced panel properly; we are awaiting city inspection.

When Sears brought out our new dryer, the installer discovered that there was no power to the 220V plug, so we had to call an electrician. We called Allgood at 6 p.m. and arranged for a next morning service call. Chris arrived shortly after 8 a.m. and first checked the plug, then the outside connect box. To be thorough, he checked the inside breaker box and discovered that the breaker had tripped, thus turning off the power, although the breaker did not appear tripped from the outside switch control. He gave me further information: the type of breaker box installed is very old (about 50 years), hard to find very expensive replacement breakers, and sometimes does not trip when it should, therefore representing a fire hazard. He advised replacement of the two boxes, and merging them, a job that will cost over $1,000. We are considering this advice. Chris was respectful and applied the 25% discount coupon from Angies without any difficulty.
Description of Work: Check power at dryer plug, check outside connect box; check and reset inside breaker box. Advise on status of breakers.

AllGood were profesional and friendly, everything I would expect from electrical work. The estimator was knowledgable and the electrician was quick and professional.
Description of Work: They replaced a GFCI outlet & some florescent ballasts. We were pleasantly surprised when they were able to come out on a holiday to provide the quote. They sent out 4 electricians and augmented with others when they were available. All members of the crew were courteous. The work was done in less thn 2 days. We are very happy with the results.
Description of Work: We recently purchased an older home and needed to update a number of electrical issues. They rewired the fuse box and updated the outside electrical work. They brought a number of issues up to code. They updated the outlets for the range and dryer. They also changed out a number of light switches, outlets, and light fixtures.

When the Allgood electrician, Ronnie, arrived, he quickly surveyed the job requirements, gave me a very good estimate, and upon my acceptance, went right to work and finished up both projects very efficiently with no time wasted. I was impressed. He was thorough, professional, and finished the job just the way I'd wanted it done. I should point out that the actual cost of the two projects was $350. However I purchased an Angie's List "Big Deal" coupon for $99 which allowed for $200 of credit to be applied toward the bill, so my actual expenses were the $99 plus an additional $150. Had I not had a coupon, however, the cost of the two projects was well worth it -- they were done right and done professionally. I'll recommend Allgood to anyone I know who needs some electrical work done.

I purchased an Angie's List big Deal that I applied to this work. I paid $99 for $200 worth of work and ended up paying an additional $100 for the amount of work I wanted completed. Scheduling was easy and the electrician arrived promptly. He installed both the plug and light fixture in a reasonable amount of time and I am please with the results. This is the second time I have used Allgood Electric and was please with the work both times. I will continue to use them for my electrical needs in the future.

I was contacted within 24 hours after submitting my request through Angie's List. Chris promptly came out and provided me with an estimate. He was very courteous and knowledgeable. The service went well overall, but I believe the price was misleading. I purchased a Big Deal through the company, $99 for $200 worth of service. I was under the impression that the entire service was only going to cost me the $99, then they charged me an additional $100.

Response from Allgood Electric
This was a simple misunderstanding on the member’s part and while I apologize to her that she thought we over charged her, she got exactly what she paid for and what our coupon promised. The Angie’s list coupon clearly states, "$200 worth of service for $99 dollars-Purchase through Angie’s List, not the provider." We initially went to give a quote for removal and reinstallation of a cooktop. Besides the trip for the quote, we had to make two other trips, one to disconnect and one to reconnect. Please note that the cooktop is not an ordinary one and in addition to having an electrical connection, also has a downdraft vent which had to be disconnected and reattached. We gave her a quote, our standard practice in written form. Paraphrased, it says: "trip to disconnect, $150, trip to reconnect, $150 totaling $300, minus the Angie’s list coupon of $200, equals $100." When were finished we asked for the coupon we realized she did not even have the coupon but allowed her to purchase it online and collected the $100. She paid exactly what she was quoted.

I called and explained that I bought a new electric dryer and needed the socket changed out from a 50 amp to 30 and to verify that only 30 amps were going to that outlet. When my dryer was delivered they said they could not plug it in because it needed to be 30 amps and if I did the warranty would be void. I had just moved into the house and the dirty clothes were piling up as I'd been without a dryer for almost a week. (I had a gas dryer and this house was propane and electric so I had to buy a new dryer) They said someone would be calling me and a little while later I received a call from Chris saying that he could come out and take a look at it that day. I was so happy that he called the same day and was there within about an hour of my call as I called another electric company the week before and was told a technician would be calling me; I?m still waiting for that call! Not only was Chris able to fix the problem right away but it was even at an affordable price. Chris had someone he was training with him, Junior and he was very patient and thorough with him. Chris (Jr too) was very friendly and professional and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him or call Allgood for any future needs!
Description of Work: Socket changed in the wall (for my dryer) from a 50 amp to a 30 amp and checked that the amps going to that outlet from the circut breaker was indeed 30 amps and relabeled the breaker correctly.
