Allgood Electric

As I remember the tech showed up on time and got right to work. He completed everything in a timely manner and we have had no additional problems with our refrig. in the garage that was previously blowing the fuse. The additional work I hired the tech to do was a quality job and we are enjoying it now that we have decorations out for the holidays.

Great from start to finish....technician was on time; installed 4 cans lighting as well as dimmer switch; cleaned up afterwards...fantastic job all around!

The overall job was excellent for the price.

Work performed included removing old flourescent tube lights and wooden frame for recessed portion of ceiling, installing proper wiring for new pot lights, and installing a new dimmer switch. Electricians had to climb into attic space above the kitchen to do part of the work. Ron and Jessie were very professional and worked quickly (they were done in about 2 1/2 hours); they also did a fairly good job cleaning up afterwards. I was also impressed with their promptness...they showed up exactly when they said they would, something that is not as common as I would like. My only negatives are that they wouldn't dispose of the old lights for me, and they did some minor damage to the ceiling when they removed the old light fixtures. Fortunately I was able to patch the ceiling and we now have a beautiful tray ceiling in our kitchen, with the pot lights being much more attractive than the old flourescent lights. Overall i was pretty impressed with Allgood Electric...I would certainly use them again!

Our garage was getting stuck and wasn't functioning properly. We made a phone call to Allgood and they were here within the day fixing the problem quickly and efficiently. Price was very fair and competitive. Would definitely use them again!

They were able to schedule a time that was convenient to me and not too far out in the calendar. Others that I had called were about a week before they could do the work, but they were able to be there that week. They showed up on time and wore their footies each time they entered the home from the outside. They gave some recommendations of where to put the outlets and they seemed reasonable to me. They were able to problem-solve how to get the wiring to the new spaces as these were retrofits into existing construction. The color of the outlets is a less-common color, so instead of slapping in the color they had that was close, they went to get the more unique color and put that in, even though it was in the closet. All in all, the work was done well and everything is functioning as designed and they promised.

The office person was so nice on the phone when I called and found that I had purchased a Big Deal before and had all of my information on her computer screen. She seemed very much concerned to get me service as soon as possible and promised a call the next afternoon. At 6:00 pm she called back to say that due to a cancelled service she could have some one here at 8:00 am the next morning. At 8:00 am or a minute or two later, Chris rang the doorbell and went to work. He checked the breakers and followed the wiring around until he found that one of the breakers was, in fact, the cause of the problem with the lights and plugs that were not operative. All the while we chatted and talked about electrical stuff and some general conversation. Chris was extremely careful to do a good job and had the problem corrected in a reasonable amount of time/. The price for his work was satisfactory and in line with other services I have used for other problems with things that have gone wrong in my house. I was very impressed with his manner and courtesy and found him to be generally a very pleasant person to work with. I really appreciate the office staff at Allgood and their service people.

Ronnie, the electrician arrived in a timely manner, listened carefully to what we wanted accomplished, and made some good suggestions around the placement of the lighting. He got right to work, was careful to minimize mess, and accomplished the installation quickly and efficiently. Ronnie was friendly, professional and knowledgeable. He knows his craft well. We're delighted with the results, and will defintely contact the company again for any electrical needs.

It was my daughter's 1st birthday party on Saturday around 3 o clock and the circuits blew due to an overload and we were expecting 50 people within an hour with no electricity. I called and this company was wiilling to come over at a moments noice which is very rare for n electriction. Fortunately my husband was able to get the power back on, however, I am saving his number in case anything happens in the future. He was very professional and quoted a reasonable price .

I have used Allgood in the past and was not hesitant to use him again. The panel is the original on a house built in the 70's. This all started when my air conditioning went out and the breaker kept tripping. AC repair person said he was very worried about how hot the breaker was. I called Allgood and someone was at my house within the hour to replace the breaker! He told me I should consider replacing the box because there were signs that it was "arcing". I asked for a quote, and the next day Angie's List came out with a special offer from Allgood to replace the panel and add a surge protector (great timing!!). Scheduled the service and they were prompt and efficient as always.

It went OK. The installer had an issue with one of the ceiling fans that I had purchased not working with the remote control. I had to leave the house to return the fan at the store where I purchased it. The installer waited in his truck while I did this. When I returned the fan and remote to the store, the customer service rep pointed out to me that there was nothing wrong with the fan or the remote. They were programmed differently. The customer service rep changed the programming code on the remote to match the fan and told me that they should work fine now. I returned with the same fan and remote and they did indeed work fine. I feel like this is something that the installer should have known about without having me return back to the store.

Appointment was at 8:00am .... my wife and I were up and at it promptly waiting for Allgood to arrive. At 8:39am , the electrician called to see if it was ok for him to show up in 15 to 20 minutes (that turned into 30 minutes). I took off work so I could discuss what needed to be done with the Allgood when they arrived (which was supposed to be 8:00am !!!!). When the young electrician arrived, we went to the kitchen to look at where the recessed cans would go. Out home is a two story house. He said he didn't think we needed 2 more cans. We discussed the possibility of installing pendant lights over the island in the center of the kitchen. After several minutes, I determined this project was going to be too intrusive and would probably require damaging the ceiling sheetrock, etc. No work was done. He indicated that we could attempt to use LED lights rather than the incandescents ... he had one in the truck so he brought it in and had it installed in about 4-5 minutes. My wife looked at it and didn't like the color or effect and so he took the LED back out and reinstalled the regular bulb. This all took about 10-15 minutes. We then looked at the dimmer switches. He said that to change out the full kitchen dimmer, we needed a 1000W dimmer (he didn't have one on the truck so would need to go get one). Before he leaves, he tells us that to replace both dimmers it would be $317.00. FOR 2 DIMMER SWITCHES!! He stated that the 1000W dimmer was about $60 bucks. I choked at the $317 price but he was here, had demonstrated the LED light and I had taken time off .... soooooo, I said ok (even though I thought we were now in a poor situation). Off he went to pick up the dimmers. Came back, installed both, but the 1000w one was faulty, so he had to go back and get another one. When all was said and done, I spent $317 and HAD 2 NEW DIMMER SWITCHES??!!! Seems pretty expensive to me ..... I work hard for my money too!. Had no real complaints abou the young electrician .... seemed like a nice fellow. Guess we need to be more careful in the future about who we hire. We're trusting and reasonable people .... in this case too trusting and maybe too reasonable! We trusted Angie's list and this time feel we were overcharged for the work that was done. We have, however, had a lot of success with other contractors we've found on Angie's List. We'll chalk this up to being partially our fault ... when contractors see where you live, there's a tendency on their part to "charge up" for the neighborhood ... be careful about that. Yes, it's happened to us before on estimates ... fortunately, in those cases we avoided hiring the contractors.

We are very pleased with the new lighting.

They were very throurgh and professional. They were not the cheapest but I was pleased with the quality of service. They were able to isolate the problem quickly and re-route some wires to solve the problem.

Called for a repair for a bad circuit breaker. The receptionist/dispatcher (Sylvia) was very nice but they had no available appointments for at least a week. It may be that this firm is more oriented to building/remodeling than to emergency service work. The "A" rating is because a rating is required to review a vendor and I did not want to penalize the vendor in order to provide my observation/experience to others.

We had previously contracted to have a ceiling fan installed in my husband's office, and a new lighting fixture installed above the kitchen sink. We bought both the ceiling fan and the light fixture but the contractor never completed the job. We contacted Allgood Electric, they came out and gave an estimate for the job. Their price was reasonable. We contracted with them to have the installations done. Allgood Electric showed up promptly on the date scheduled. They installed the ceiling fan and the new lighting strip above the kitchen sink. The job was done quicly and professionally. We would recommend Allgood Electric for any electrical work.

Took about a week for and appointment for the estimate and install. Electrician was punctual, professional and friendly. A credit to his company. The install was pretty simple; however, since US homes are poorly built (no outlets were grounded in a year 2006 home and wires were all black), I wasn't able to find the ground wire (bare wire was sprayed with paint). I decided to leave it to a pro. I thought that for the services performed, the price was a bit high and unfortunately their $99 coupon wasn't available until he was already onsite.en

Probably the best $300 I've ever spent. It looks great!

Service rep was prompt and efficient. Definitely felt I got my money's worth.

We had Allgood Electric out before. This time they looked at an outdoor outlet that stopped working. They discovered a faulty GFI circuit and since they installed it only 18 mos ago agreed to replace it free of charge. They then did a analysis of the house and discovered two circuit breakers that were incorrect. they replaced these as well. Finally, we had a light switch that occasionally "popped" when we turned the lights on and they replaced that as well. The electrician was courteous, professional and even allowed me to tag along while he worked. Overall we are pleased with the worked performed, but gosh electricians sure are expensive! Regardless, we would not hesitate to call Allgood again.

Highly recommend Allgood Electric. I called this morning and was told they would make arrangements for same day service. Later I got a call from Dayn Barrett that he would be out to see me as soon as possible and would call me again when he was on his way. Dayn is a personable and very knowledgeable technician. He answered all my questions and gave me a fair estimate. I know have light in my kitchen as well as some new switches...not to mention an upgraded fluorescent light. Next time i need electrical work I will call Allgood Electric and definitely ask for Dayn.

On time; reasonably priced; polite; professional.

The installers of the whole house surge protector were on time and worked efficiently. The device was installed in less than 30 minutes. Not being familiar with such a device, I cannot say the price was good or bad. I simply wanted all my appliances to stop blinking during a thunderstorm. So far so good.

They were on time, very polite, and went right to work. The problem has been eliminated.
