I had a breaker that kept tripping when anything was plugged into it. Allgood tech came out to give me an estimate and troubleshoot the issue. He figured out that it was a bad 20amp breaker and replace and tested it on the spot. Very good experience.

An outdoor electrical outlet had failed and this outlet powered my cable TV. Also, the landscape lighting in my backyard had stopped working and a couple of the lights were not working. Allgood did a good job fixing the outdoor electric outlet and located the electric control box for the backyard landscape but seemed to lose interest in troubleshooting the landscape lighting, which is low voltage (12vdc) and the wires are buried in the ground. Maybe I should have hired a different kind of business for landscape lighting but, if this is the case, they should have told me when I hired them to do the work. If you are looking for someone to do regular electrical work, Allgood will do a good job. If you are looking for someone to repair your landscape lighting, I would look elsewhere.

I decided to install new shelves in our kitchen pantry for Valentine's Day for my wife. As fate would have it, the next day our kitchen breaker kept popping the outside electrical panel until I turned off the inside kitchen circuit. With the kitchen circuit off, our refrigerator no longer worked so I had to run an extension cord from the garage to keep it powered. I called Allgood Electric the next morning based on their Angie's list reviews. I spoke to someone at 8am and James arrived by 9am. I explained what was happening to James. He asked great questions, understood quickly and provided a few theories. The prognosis did not look good for me. When we went outside to check the outside panel for him to hook up his test equipment, we found that the outside panel was in really, really bad shape. The plastic breakers were melted in places and barely holding on. This wasn't caused by my shelving installation but just deterioration over the years. He confirmed the main feeder cable was intact (whew!) but that the outside box had to be delt with before he could complete the diagnosis. I authorized replacing the outside panel, upgrading the panel from 125A to 200A, and adding whole house surge protection (which I've wanted for a long time). He went to get the parts and then started the work. Troy (the owner) delivered other parts and tools in the afternoon, and to review the situation. James and Troy obviously work well together, and I appreciated their attention to detail and professionalism throughout. Troy even fixed my kitchen LED can lights which I upgraded last fall - I could never get the spring clips to fit correctly. He fixed all 8 lights for me in a matter of minutes. After the outside panel was installed they retested the circuits and the kitchen breaker was no longer popping. That was great news, but they still had to confirm visually the damage to the inside wire for our safety. They agreed to come out the next day to finish. The next day James came with an assistant and they opened up a space in the ceiling of my garage to visually inspect the main feeder lines. They found the compromised wire and repaired it. All in all I was very "lucky" in that I barely nicked a single wire to my kitchen. I feel good knowing the actual problem was solved and that my electrical system had the necessary attention to bring it back inline for my family and home's safety. I asked for a dedicated circuit to be put in for the fridge. With so many kitchen electronics multiplying we already deal with overloading the circuit. Moving the fridge to its own breaker would probably alleviate a lot of that frustration and keep the fridge powered as long as we have main power. They minimized drywall cutting and did a professional job of running this circuit from my garage to the outside, and then back into my kitchen. While it's clear this is an add-on circuit, the work is clean and professional. I had been planing to call an electrician for months to take care of various odds and ends jobs throughout my home. Replace switches with dimmers, fix ceiling fan light kits, etc. Since they were here I asked them to take care of these honey-do items. Due to the time it took to resolve my main issue they were not able to finish the other items on my list, but scheduled to come back. With already two full days into my home I completely understood they had other scheduled jobs to take care of, and all of my critical issues had been resolved. James and his assistant (I didn't get his name) were very professional, knowledgeable, and have a great work ethic. Troy was also great and he clearly has a great working relationship with his people. I look forward to working with them again and into the future. Highly recommended.

I felt the price Allgood Electric was going to charge me was way over what should have been charged. I felt they were making up for the difference that I got the big deal for. I told him exactly what was wrong with them before he came in, but he had to pull them apart and confirm what I had said. He wanted to charge an astronomical amount to fix them and I just said no. I disliked the fact that they were gouging and trying to make back the money from the big deal. The office was very nice and they were very cooperative so I wouldn't give them a horrible rating. I just felt they were trying to gouge the price. The response time was not real good. Evidently the lady who handles that had a death in the family and was out all week. Someone did called me back 3 or 4 days after I called to set up the estimate, because there was no one in the office who could give me one over the phone. They guy showed up on time. Once we set up the appointment everything was on time. The office was good and very professional. I guess the guy who came out was too.
Description of Work: I did call Allgood Electric. They came over to give me a quote to rewire a ceiling fan, because one of the switches originally went to one of the hot spots in the room. The previous owner had wired the switch from the hot spot to the lights on the ceiling fan and it wasn't working properly. So they had to rewire that. Then in the laundry room had an exhaust fan that worked, but the light didn't. If you turned on one switch both turned on, but there were 2 switches so they were supposed to work separately. He needed to fix that as well.

Hired Allgood on a deal to look at some outlets not working in my kitchen. They properly diagnosed the issue, replaced the outlet to get it working again, and gave me some great ideas on some other projects around the house. I was very pleased with the service and the results and feel like I've finally found a group I can trust for future work.

BUYER BEWARE!! I needed a bid for an outlet installed. They came out and quoted me $718! I got two other bids, one for $275 and one for $145. I took the bid for $145 and the company had the job completed in less than 30 minutes!! Something is drastically wrong with Allgood.

1/17/13: Emailed Allgood through Angie's List requesting an estimate to have four ceiling fans installed. 1/18/13: Received an email from Troy asking when could they come out to do the estimate. I replied Monday, 1/21/13 from noon to 4:00pm would be perfect. No reply, no confirmation, no follow-up, no visit, no estimate. No response at all. 1/27/13: Emailed Allgood again, asking if it usually took a week and a half to get an estimate from them. Troy replied indicating he didn't have my phone number and apologized for not asking for it. He also indicated I was supposed to have gotten an email from someone at his company, which, obviously, I had not. 1/28/13: Replied with my phone number and attempted to schedule another estimate. The times I was available were apparently too late in the day. Troy replied, offering to come out Wednesday 1/30/13 between 5:30 and 7:30pm, and I agreed. 1/29/13: Emailed Troy letting him know I would be available at 4:30pm on 1/30/13 and to please text or call me when he was on the way; he replied, "Will do." No one ever came out, no one ever called, no one ever texted, no one ever emailed. I waited another three days before writing this review to make sure I gave them every chance possible to follow up, show up, or make any attempt at contact. Nothing at all. I will select another company to do this work.
Description of Work: No services were performed. I have tried, unsuccessfully, for two and a half weeks to get an estimate from them.

After paying a G.C. (not on Angie's list) to update the kitchen including adding GFCI's, none of the outlets in this kitchen worked! He was paid so of course it was hard to get him back out. When he did it was going to be an exorbitant charge as he said his electrician had to rewire from the attic! I found Allgood Electric on Angie's list and was even able to use a coupon. They came out, spent about 30 minutes found the GFCI's were wired wrong from "that" electrician, corrected the problem with no need to go in the attic! Simple, painless and now safe! Thank you Allgood! I will call you first next time and use GC's on Angies list from now on.

Initially contacted Allgood based on an Angie's deal that I received via e-mail. The deal was for a simple exhaust fan. Turned out the cutout in the ceiling (previous unit was fan/heater combo) was too large for simple exhaust fan. Technician came out and provided an estimate for replacing the existing fan/heater combo. He was very polite and explained our choices and left it to us to make a decision. We gave it a couple of days and then scheduled for them to come out and install the fan/heater combo. The technician arrived right on schedule (after having called to let us know he was on his way), was prompt, polite and very neat. Will definitely use for future electrical work.

We purchased (2) Big Deals for bathroom fan installations at 2 of our homes. Both were scheduled on the same date; the crew arrived one hour early at the first site (8a rather than the scheduled 9a). Admittedly, some customers would appreciate the early start. Unfortunately, having worked a late shift the night before, I was not in a position to accomodate an earlier work crew. They returned when I was ready - still earlier than the scheduled 9a, and were apologetic and polite at this time. After looking at site #1, they wanted to see site #2, before going to purchase the respective fans. The installation at site 2 was an initial install, as no vent fan was built into that bathroom. The crew wired the new fan and installed the fan and the switch. My better half was supervising the work at this site, and he voiced some concerns during the install, including the installation hole being cut off-kilter. When the installed fan didn't cover the odd cut, we looked closer at the entire installation, and were very unhappy with several aspects of it. Imagine our delight, then, when we called Troy, the owner, and he agreed to come look at the job. He arrived when he said he would, looked at the installation, and immediately agreed to remedy the issues. Troy worked with my partner and all was resolved, and we are now absolutely tickled with the fantastic exhaust fan. The areas I rated "B" above are due to me rating the entire experience, which started out a bit rough, but ended up great, due to Troy's receptiveness to our concerns, and his committment to making things right. We ended up getting a refund on the Deal for home #1 due to a change of plans for work at that site, though I will not hesitate to call Allgood, should the change require an electrician. Single-handedly, Troy transformed our experience from unhappy, to ecstatic. We are pleased with his professionalism and genuine concern that his customers are happy.

Purchased coupon for LED installation on Angie's List. Allgood technician came to determine scope of work and made recommendation for additional service. Price quoted of additional work was reasonable. They honored my request for specific day or service and completed LED light installation on day requested. Technician asked for input on placement of lights and did a great job with installation. Final invoice was for the amount of estimate. They moved furniture and cleaned the floors. I would use Allgood Electric again.

I had a great experience with Allgood Electric. They changed out a light fixture that was years old to a new, modern fixture. Angie's List Coupon used, so final total was very low. Work done: 1. Outdoor light sensitive light installed. 2. Old motion light on side of the house removed, wires capped off and covered. 3. Check out wiring - overhead light not working in garage-room. The two little jobs went well and were completed quickly. Then the technician spent some time checking out the wiring and found that it was working, but weak. He looked in the attic briefly and suggested that some wires be replaced/updated. He also suggested one old fuse box be updated. What we liked: We appreciated his thoroughness in checking out the wiring, and the suggestions he made. He also gave us a rough estimate of how much the re-wiring and fuse box replacement would costs. This is work we do feel should be done, as it is an older house. What we did not like: Too much "up-selling". It was very clear the tech was trying to 'up-sell' us by appealing to our fear of a possible fire. He told us a story about someone's house that burned down who didn't have this work done in a timely manner...etc, which we thought was unnecessary. It felt like we were being pressured, and if that wasn't the intent, it's still how it came across. This is the reason the review is not a solid "A". We MAY use this company again; it depends on the other estimates we get.
