Small jobs welcome

"LTC Brick and Stone created a beautiful fireplace for me. Everyone who sees it takes a moment to just stand and appreciate how pretty it is. The best part, though, of working with LTC Brick and Stone was the people. They were friendly and kind, and thoroughly professional. Rare today! If I could, I would add fireplaces in every room, just to see what else they would create! A wonderful company to work with, I would recommend them in an instant."

"I called Mucks just days before a major winter storm because I was having issues with an odor in my fireplace. I recently moved into the home and was unaware of the condition of the fireplace. Despite his busy schedule with an upcoming storm He was able to fit me in within two days. He was prompt, professional, and friendly. I would highly recommend him to anyone in need of chimney work."

Family Owned, Family First.\nWe started our company after spending years contracting under other builders and general contractors. After a while, we realized our small family needed greater structure and a stronger foundation than what we were providing with those hour-packed work schedules. \n\nSo, we took a huge risk, trusting that our Father would always take care of our family (whether we succeeded on our own or not), and began our LLC. We have put together a network of professionals that continues to grow all across East Texas, allowing our company to provide a wide range of services to our valued customer base.\n\nSince this move, we are happy to say that our family grows closer and stronger every day! And our hope is that each and every client we have the pleasure to work with will recognize these family values and carry them home, to a home they truly love again!\n

"This gentleman fixed my problem, but he left the job unfinished. He left the chimney screen off of my chimney and I now have birds nesting in my chimney. I ve even came home and found a bird in my house. I will have to hire someone to climb on my roof to put the screen back up on the chimney. I won t hire him again."

Fireplace Cleaners questions, answered by experts

The main difference between limewash and German schmear is their core ingredient. Limewash is made from crushed limestone, while German schmear uses a mortar base. This affects their application, appearance, and longevity. German schmear involves applying a thin layer of mortar to brick or stone and then partially wiping it off. In contrast, limewash is a type of paint. German schmear is essentially permanent, lasting one to two decades with minimal maintenance, whereas limewash has a shorter lifespan of five to seven years. Cost-wise, German schmear is about $1 to $4 per square foot and is typically only available in white or gray.

Cracks in the chimney can be very serious, depending on their location and size. Even small cracks can become serious over time if left unrepaired. Cracks allow heat and moisture to deteriorate your chimney and harmful carbon monoxide gas to seep into your home. Small cracks can often be caulked, while large cracked sections may require full replacement.

Regular HVAC filter changes, deep cleaning, and air quality monitoring help maintain a healthy environment.

When it comes to painting your bricks, you’ve got a few options. Traditionally, lime wash (a mix of aged, burned, and crushed lime and water) was used to whitewash brick or stone. You can also find premixed brick whitewash paint that cuts out a few steps and lets you get started faster. However, for the best results, we recommend using a DIY whitewash (white acrylic paint mixed with water).

Yes, brick should be clean before staining to ensure the best results. Dirt, dust, mold, mildew, and other substances on the brick can prevent the stain from properly adhering to it. Thoroughly cleaning the brick allows the stain to penetrate and bond to the surface more effectively. Cleaning typically involves using a pressure washer or a stiff brush with mild detergent. However, stubborn residue may require a specialized masonry cleaner.
