"Tri-County did a great job fixing sheet rock which had been cut out for plumbing and electrical work. Before the repairs, the wall looked like a jigsaw puzzle with substantial, uneven pieces missing. The workman from Tri-County cut and placed new sheet rock to fill the gaps, finishing with paint which perfectly matched the rest of the wall. There were no visible seams or other trace of just how torn up the wall had been before the repairs. Many thanks!!!"

"HIGHLY recommend Hall Masonry for any home repair needs! Brandon was punctual, professional, worked harder than anyone else we’ve ever hired, and paid close attention to detail while redoing our porch and ensuring he stained it to the right color. His prices are super reasonable for the great work he does and he completed our project in an expedited manner. We will continue hiring him for any other home repairs we need in the near future! Once again, amazing work and extremely pleased with Brandon!"

"Yes. He went over and above to get the job done. He came to my house to look at the job, he didn't text asking questions. He gave a bid and that's what he stuck to. No increase."

Deck Maintenance questions, answered by experts

The best way to clean your decking is to clear debris from the gaps between the boards, sweep the surface, rinse it, apply cleaner, rinse again, and let it dry fully. A homemade deck cleaner made of two gallons of warm water and 1/2 cup vinegar is a simple cleaning solution for both wood and composite decking. You can sprinkle baking soda on any spots with mold or mildew, then scrub the area and rinse clean.

Because adding a deck will yield a higher property value, you may have higher insurance costs. It’s important to follow the codes and regulations set by your local and state governments, so your insurance rates can be properly calculated. You may need an insurance revaluation after your deck is completed. The best course of action is to speak with an insurance professional to understand how adding a deck will impact your home’s insurance costs before you begin.

The cost to repair a deck is between $900 and $3,500, depending on the cause and extent of the damage. For example, fixing a sinking deck caused by pest damage can cost between $200 and $600, while replacing sinking boards costs between $500 and $4,000.

A deck doesn’t have to be perfectly level. Many pros even recommend a gentle slope to ensure proper drainage and increase longevity. The ideal gentle slope is about 1/8 to 1/4 inch per foot away from the property, leading water away from the home to prevent pooling and reduce the risk of damage. It also minimizes rot, mold, and other moisture-related problems.

Yes, you can attach a deck to a mobile home, but it’s important that the work be done correctly to avoid the potential for major damage to your home. Many building codes require that any additions to mobile homes—including decks—be either freestanding or have their own support structures. Getting permits may require submitting the home's original floor plan, the proposed floor plan, framing details, and more.
