Remodel “Robbed” I hired Eric Robb with Cortex Construction, located in Grapevine, TX, to remodel my master bathroom and install a new closet door with the understanding that completion must be no later than 7/8/21 due to my upcoming surgery. I had a horrible experience from beginning to end. Move It Yourself Robb tells me I don’t need to relocate or move anything out of my bedroom during the project. On day one, I come home and find a removed shower door on my dog beds in my bedroom and my wardrobe inaccessible because Robb’s workers moved my dresser in front of my wardrobe and stored their ladder, drill, nails, bolts, putty, and other items in front of my dresser when they left. When I call Robb, he asks if I can move the shower door. I drag it to my den. Thanks, Eric. Poor, Late, or No Show/Notice. Over my three-week project, which had to be done on time because of the scheduled abdominal surgery, Robb doesn’t tell me when he and his crew will work. They arrive hours later than they say. They never show up, or show up when they aren’t supposed to. When I ask Robb when he will complete my project, he tells me “Bear with me.” What does that mean? The “Should Be” Usable Shower. I ask Robb if my shower is usable. He says it “should be,” so I take a shower, but it doesn’t drain. Robb tells me his crew must have left the plug in. Nice. Progress Little, but Mess Large. I tell Robb he’s not making much progress. He tells me “I have calls to two crews to check on their progress.” He’s not at the project enough to get things done and I’m left with a big mess...large box that the bathtub came in filled with trash and poor/incomplete work. I had to hire and pay someone else to fix and complete the project. Lien On Me! Robb files a lien against my house and demands full payment. This is my Robb Remodel disaster! Don’t Get “Robbed!”

They ended up putting the deck too far way from house and the steps had to be cut in tiny pieces because the supports were screwed up and could. To support any long boards. Every piece uneven. Looked amateurish like Gilligans island. I didn't say anything because he doesn't listen anyway. Deck was good enough. We just tore it down for something better. I would not use him again though.

Cortex never asked for any money until the job was done. All of the employees including Eric, the President, was kind to us and did not use any dirty sales tactics to get more money out of us. I will highly recommend him to my co-workers and friends!

Eric Robb from Cortex Construction was extremely professional helping us out with a very difficult and tricky project. He helped to work out everything to bring down the cost finishing the project without the interior designer in a very efficient manner. I would highly recommend Eric and will absolutely be using him, again.

All employees of Cortex were clean, knowledgeable, friendly, and hard-working. It took 90 days instead of my hoped for 60 but they where responsive and working hard every day. They never requested a deposit or payment until the work was done. Quality is top-notch. The owner Eric was on top of everything and has lots of great ideas about maximizing your investment and the most effective ways to save money.

The owner, Eric Robb, was very professional throughout the process. This was a homeowners insurance claim and Eric was very helpful in dealing with the insurance company. The roofing crew were on time and prepared from the beginning of the job, and the supervisor was excellent in managing the crew and keeping us updated each step of the way. The work on the roof and the clean up upon completion were excellent. We highly recommend Cortex Construction!

In both the case of my mom's roof, and my own roof, the work went great. The work was completed, start to finish, in one day in both cases. I couldn't be more pleased.

It went great, they did it all in one day. They were professional the whole time. They removed the old roof by putting in a truck and hauling it away as they took it down. They didn't leave a huge mess in the yard which I appreciated, they were very neat. It took them less than a week to start the work once the insurance was cleared.
