"Although I could not afford their services I wish I could have gone with the company to help me out. Very respectful and responsive and arrived on time to give me an estimate. I was not aware of average cost of my project they gave me a more than fair bid that I can not pay for at this time. Thank you."

"Ben and his crew did a GREAT job felling and removing 4 dead post oak trees from our property. He dug out the stumps versus grinding them, giving us a perfectly clean slate, was on time, pleasant to work with and did what he said he would do. The quote was very reasonable too. We are very happy with the work and would use BTJ again."

"Highly Recommend BlueMoon Home! I recently hired BlueMoon Home for a major tree and bush trimming project, and I couldn't be happier with the results! Over the years, our yard had become completely overgrown, with branches crowding the roof and bushes looking wild and shapeless. The team from BlueMoon Home arrived right on time, walked the property with me to confirm exactly what I wanted, and went straight to work. Their attention to detail was incredible. They didn't just blindly cut away; they carefully shaped our trees to ensure they stay healthy and structurally sound, and sculpted our bushes into clean, beautiful features."

"Exceptional professional service. I was skeptical this company could deliver all that they promised, as I was still smarting from a $10,500 chip seal done by another company that was a complete failure. They made a driveway 20' wide spanning to 40' wide and over 100' long. Also fixed 600' existing driveway. They also leveled pad site for the new home. Mr. Sardis Sr has over 40 years experience in building roads, and his son about 20 years. It shows in the quality of work. They own all equipment and trucks. I have NEVER seen a crew work harder. Quality caliche base from almost 100 miles away and pea sized millings. Each haul ranged 18 tons to 21 tons. Leveled a layer of base and sprayed with water. Then, a skid steer on rubber tracks compacted with a heavy roller. Another layer of base and more compacting. Then millings and compacting again. Mr. Sardis came back next day and rolled entire drive one more time. Left saying they would return to fix anything I wasn't happy about."

Excavating questions, answered by experts

Most residential basements are 8 to 10 feet deep. You can dig deeper depending on building codes, but it does become more difficult. You’ll likely need to install stronger foundation walls and additional supports to handle the increased load. Depending on the water table, you may also need a water management system. Clay soil can support a deeper foundation than sandy soil. A structural engineer will be able to tell you the maximum, feasible depth.

If you have a broken sprinkler pipe underground, there will be some signs you can easily spot to locate it and take action. These include leaks, water spouts, flooding, consistently damp areas on your lawn, low water pressure, and grass around the sprinkler head that’s taller and darker than anywhere else in the yard.

If there are no obvious signs of a broken pipe, you can use tools such as water leak mics, leak noise loggers, audio devices that record leaks, and acoustic testing links.

Broken pipes can lead to uneven watering, plant damage, and higher utility bills. The longer you wait to fix them the more the repair cost may be.

Underground downspouts refer to the sections of downspout extensions that lead away from your home and gutter system. While they cost more than traditional extensions, they can provide several benefits, such as less frequent damage and no need to move them for lawn care tasks. Whether they're worth it or not depends on your budget at installation time and how much convenience they'll add to your situation.

You should dig 3 to 6 inches deep for plastic edging. Dig as wide as you need to fit your plastic edging into it—2 inches is usually sufficient.

You can bury underground electrical wire six inches deep—but only if you use a rigid metal electrical conduit. For rigid, non-metallic conduits, bury the wire at least 12 inches deep. If using an underground feeder cable rated for direct burial, you'll need to place it at least 18 inches deep, as it has no conduit for extra protection.
