Edward Robinson did our home and inspection and throughout the entire process he encouraged questions and would point things out as we went along. Edward was thorough not only during the actual inspection, but he was extremely thorough in his final report (which was nothing short of excellent). Would I recommend Professional Engineering Inspections to anyone? Absolutely.

This is the second time we used the services of Professional Engineering Inspections. We used them first 8+ years ago when we purchased our first home in The Woodlands - they were outstanding then, and were outstanding once again when we used them recently to inspect the home we are about to buy (also in The Woodlands). Both times they were prompt, very courteous and extremely professional (the first inspection was completed by the father, and the second by his son - both were fantastic). The report they generated (although non-standard as I was told by my real-estate agent) was extremely detailed and clear, and provide both written details as well as images taken during the inspection. I feel very comfortable knowing the status of the house we are buying - and that is good with such a large investment. And I will use Prof. Eng. Inspectors again, when and if we move into another house in the Houston area.

Edward Robinson was outstanding from start to finish. We chose PEI on a recommendation from a Realtor. We wanted an engineer (P.E.) to perform the inspection because of the age of the house and concerns about the structural integrity. Edward Robinson arrived promptly at 2PM and finished in a little under 3 hours. All along the way he let us ask questions, and pointed out important issues that he discovered. The report he provided was of extremely high quality. Additionally he gave us a very comprehensive verbal report immediately upon completion of the inspection where he walked us around and showed us the areas of concern. My overall experience with PEI was A+. The next time I buy a home I will definitely use PEI for the inspection.

I actually used them twice and did a great job on both houses they inspected. Fortunately the inspections caused us not to purchase the houses. On the house we did purchase an inspection was provided and we wish we would have had them inspect it anyway. Unfortunately we did not. I would recommend this inspection service every time.

Mr. Robinson came in with a fine tooth comb and a camera. He inspected our (soon-to-be) home. Keep in mind it was built in 1958 and little has been done in the way of updating. He showed up 10 minutes early and immediately started the inspection. He had no issue with me following him around asking questions. He was more than happy to let me know what he was doing at every step. I actually found the whole experience to be rather educational and pleasant. The only thing that really topped it was the receipt of the inspection. Talk about getting your money's worth. He put together a report filled with all of the findings, suggestions, estimates, and pictures. It was incredibly detailed AND I received it the next afternoon.

We purchased an old house as first time home buyers, and the inspector did a very thorough job finding all sorts of issues. The report was extensive. We went ahead with the purchase, but thankfully we knew exactly what we were getting into. We've been fixing the issues one by one. Overall, the service was more expensive by a few hundred dollars than others we looked at, but I felt like it was worth every dollar on such an important purchase. We'll be using them again if the need ever arises.

I've used PEI twice before, and referred them to many friends. They came out to the house on time. They got right to it, with Edward inspecting the major elements of the building, and Brian inspecting the mechanical and electrical systems. They took about 3 hours to finish the inspection, and Edward pointed out many things to be concerned about as he walked me around the property. Edward is licensed professional engineer in the state of Texas. He inspected the structure, foundation, and roof. Because he is a licensed PE and stamps/signs it, his report on these major aspects of the house is actually an engineering report on the condition of the property. The report is very well organized with a approx. 2 page summary of the major points, and then 10-20 pages of detailed report with color pictures to illustrate problems identified. In addition to observations of the condition of the house, the report also includes his professional opinions on the severity of the problems and possible outcomes. Brian's mechanical/electrical report uses the standard (required) state form. Brian is also very thorough in evaluating the performance of the appliances, heating/cooling systems, and condition of plumbing, electrical, etc. His report also includes detailed comments on the various systems he inspects, and it serves as a useful checklist for going through the house to fix all the little things. The report points out all of the problems, and also indicates estimated repair costs where appropriate. Overall, these guys are extremely knowledgeable, thorough, and professional. I would not consider using anyone else for a home inspection. They are more expensive than the average inspector, but you get what you pay for. They will give you a much better picture of the condition of the house than anyone else, and you will have thorough documentation to prove to the seller that there are repairs needed. We negotiates a reduction of $4000 based on their findings. For a $650 inspection, that is a great return on investment. If it stops you from buying a poorly built/maintained house, you will save much more.

They were so great! They arrived on time, and were even earlier. They come with a service person for each individual system in the house. They do everything from checking the level of the home and even check pools. They reports are so extensive we can use them for the next 10 years to budget what would be needed in the home in the future. The inspections took about 8 hours and they were great for negotiations in the price of the home. They kept us from buying two or three homes that would have been a financial disaster. It was money well spent. These people are professional engineers and they are just excellent. Price is per home, but they were quite large homes.
