"I needed to have my vinyl fence removed because it was damaged beyond repair thanks to Hurricane Ian. Rob came by and gave me a very fair price to take care of this for me. The gentleman who did the work was very nice and did a great job. I'm very pleased with the end result. I'll be calling on him again in the near future."

"We’re currently remodeling two bathrooms under the same contract. The first bathroom is complete, and the second one just started this week. While their bid wasn’t the lowest we received, it felt fair and, in hindsight, definitely worth it. The project manager was an excellent communicator—knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and never pressured us to accept the offer. We’re extremely pleased with the quality of work on the first bathroom and are confident the second will turn out just as well. A tip for future clients: make sure you have all the necessary materials on hand. We did, and the team completed the bathroom ahead of schedule. The space is narrow, so the photo angles don’t do it justice, but I hope they still give a sense of the high-quality work delivered."

"I put a 12' x 33' concrete slab at the back of my house in preparation for a sunroom and then got visits and bids from several installers in the Austin area. In a previous house some years ago I had had a moderately unpleasant experience with a nationally known sunroom installer because of leaks and maintenance and, this time, made careful plans in advance. I considered a wood framed structure but the cost would have been 1.5 - 2.5 time more. I chose Lone Star Patio. They installed a beautiful aluminum sunroom over the slab (11 windows + a cabana door) with electrical outlets/fan/light. Peter Garcia, the owner, had a personal hand in almost everything that got done. He is easy to communicate with and responds promptly to texts, emails and phone calls. The person who manually did the installation, Sean, is a perfectionist (and also a really nice fellow). The electricians - subcontractors - were so good that I will call them myself if I need electrical work. Peter knows how to choose good workers. There were some significant delays but these were due to weather and matters beyond Lone Star Patio's control. There is a 5 year labor warranty from Lone Star Patio + longer materials warranties from Norandex (for the windows) and PGT (for the door). Overall, we are very happy with results and I trust the company to provide maintenance, if it's needed during the warranty periods."

Awnings questions, answered by experts

When comparing quotes in Bryan, TX, watch for professionals who are unfamiliar with local building codes or wind load requirements. Other red flags include an unwillingness to provide local references, pressure to sign immediately, or demanding cash-only payments. A credible contractor will have a physical business address in the Bryan/College Station area and provide clear, written warranty information.

Helpful?

After completing an awning project, conduct seasonal maintenance to prepare for the Texas climate. This includes a pre-storm inspection in March and cleaning the fabric before summer heat sets in. Retract your awning during severe weather warnings, which are common in this region. Due to the humid climate, monitor for mildew and plan for fabric replacement every 7 to 10 years.

Helpful?

Before starting awning projects in Bryan, TX, contact the Development Services Department about permits, as applications can take weeks. You should also check your HOA rules in neighborhoods like Pebble Creek for any restrictions. To prevent surprises, schedule installation outside the May to September storm season and call Texas 811 to have underground utility lines marked on your property.

Helpful?

In Bryan, TX, prioritize awning projects if you have existing damage before the severe weather season, which starts in March. Addressing structural issues or seeking energy efficiency during the hot summers are also urgent needs. Purely aesthetic upgrades can often wait until the milder winter months, which is also Bryan's slower construction season, allowing you more time to plan.

Helpful?

Your Bryan, TX home is a strong candidate for an awning project if it has solid construction like brick or wood framing and sufficient roof overhang for support. Homes with southern or western exposure benefit most from sun protection. Also, ensure you have adequate yard space for retractable models and proper drainage to handle Bryan’s heavy rainfall, preventing water-related issues.
