"Hero Window Cleaner did my outside windows on my two story home. The job was done ok with Adam as the manager. After the crew left, we discovered they had taken all the window screens off and put them on the side of the house. My husband is in his eighties and cannot put them back on!! Some are so high only a professional could do them!!! We have called the company 4times. My husband spoke to the manager, but no one has come to the rescue!!! Very disappointed!!! PLEASE HELP US!!!!"

Window Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Use of harnesses and ladders ensures safe roof access.

A handy hair dryer will quickly remove condensation from your window, but it’s only a temporary fix. The hair dryer maneuver will not repair the root of the window fogging problem, which is likely a broken window seal. If you need to defog the window quickly, such as if guests are coming over, use the hair dryer. However, for a permanent solution, defogging the window or replacing it are the only options.

The best thing to clean windows with is a mixture of white vinegar, warm water, and dish soap. This will remove dirt, pollen, and grime without destroying any tints or protective films on your glass. You can also use a commercial window cleaner, but make sure to choose one that doesn’t have ammonia in it, as this can damage window coverings and frame materials over time.

For a standard 1,000-square-foot home, you should expect your window cleaner to take between 1 and 3 hours to clean all of your windows. Of course, the size of your home and the number and size of the windows you have will play a role in the timeline. Certain styles of windows—like picture windows, which have no moving parts—also take less time to clean.

Pros offer comprehensive cleaning that addresses areas you might overlook, ensuring an immaculate home.
