"While installing the fence Tyler suggested that the patio would be the perfect place for a pergola. I had never thought about it before. I had him put in a covered pergola and i love it! He also did a great job on some landscaping for me. Excellent work and they show up as promised. Highly recommend."

"I was quoted a reasonable price. All materials high quality, and as you can tell by the pictures installed better than most if not all fences in my neighborhood. The job turned out better than expected."

"Mr Hernandez and his son are rare in the contractor world. They were on time each time we met and started/finished the project when they said they would. They were receptive to my design ideas and executed flawlessly. The job was to replace a brick mailbox destroyed by an unknown vehicle. They cleaned up the rubble and rebuilt the structure in one day. They provided status photos during the construction and in my opinion, overbuilt the structure with future impact in mind. They also left a clean work space. The finished product is above my expectations, reasonably priced and I highly recommend them for any brick/masonry work."

Patios questions, answered by experts

In almost all cases, you will need permits if you plan on building a sunroom over your patio, but regulations and requirements will depend on your municipality. Permits to enclose your patio will usually cost between $300 and $1,000. Since navigating local building codes and zoning requirements is challenging—and the consequences of not following them can be extremely expensive—we strongly recommend hiring a sunroom builder to complete the work and pull the permits for you.

Yes, you can build a sunroom addition to your home despite living in a cold climate. Make sure to use high-quality insulation and windows and to supplement with sufficient heating from your HVAC system. The windows in the sunroom allow enough natural light into the room to help heat it most times without having to use the furnace. Even a small electric fireplace can heat the sunroom well enough.

A Florida room is a home addition that has finished walls with windows lining the perimeter, while a screened-in porch, also known as an Arizona room, lacks windows and instead has screens to maintain constant ventilation. Florida rooms provide longer enjoyment throughout the year because they’re closed off and will naturally get heated from the sun, while a screened-in porch will just be the same temperature as the ambient air.

The life span of your solarium will depend on the materials used and how much wear and tear the room experiences from the inside and from the outside due to weather. On average, you can expect your solarium to last anywhere from 10 years to 50 or more. In rare cases, such as with old estates, solariums can last over 100 years.

When designing an attached greenhouse, several factors should be considered. These include the orientation and positioning of the greenhouse to maximize sunlight exposure, the structural integrity of the connection to the house, sufficient insulation to regulate temperature, proper ventilation for airflow, and adequate space for plants and pathways. If you’re restricted because of your budget, go with a simpler design to maximize the use of your money.
