"I found Reds above-ground pools and decks By Word of Mouth. I wanted a 12 x 24 x54 oval pool semi in-ground. When I called the company they said that they would have to excavate the ground for the pool. The day they arrived the excavator came and they excavated the hole in one day. No rocks just hard heavy clay soil. Due to rain and whether filling the hole every day we had to wait till the hole dried get the pool put in. When the pool erection started, red and his team did an amazing job to get it up and filled so that my family could cool off the hot humid Tennessee weather. I recommend you call reds above ground pools and decks for your next big or small swimming pool job. Highly recommended."

Deck Repair questions, answered by experts

Yes, it’s definitely possible to build a pergola on an existing deck. All you need to do is attach the pergola support beams to the deck’s joists and build up from there. Beware that mistakes can damage your deck, so if you’re at all unsure of the process, play it safe and hire a pro for your custom build.

Yes, pressure washing a wood deck can be a good idea as it effectively lifts ingrained dirt, mold, and mildew, improving the deck's appearance and longevity. However, it must be done carefully, as it's easy to damage the wood, especially softwoods. To pressure wash safely, use a lower pressure setting and a wide, 40-degree fan pattern nozzle (often white). Keep the nozzle at least a foot away from the wood surface and maintain constant motion, avoiding hovering in one spot to prevent gouging.

Because adding a deck will yield a higher property value, you may have higher insurance costs. It’s important to follow the codes and regulations set by your local and state governments, so your insurance rates can be properly calculated. You may need an insurance revaluation after your deck is completed. The best course of action is to speak with an insurance professional to understand how adding a deck will impact your home’s insurance costs before you begin.

Yes, and in some cases, frozen ground may improve the digging process for footings due to sturdier conditions. It’s easier than working in muddy conditions, which are more common in the spring. Contractors may use machinery that makes this step a breeze, so harder ground shouldn’t affect the building process.

The “best” material is in the eye of the beholder, as each common decking material boasts its pros and cons. Poured concrete is the best budget-friendly option, but composite wood brings high-grade aesthetics without breaking the bank. Wood is the most traditional material, but it requires more maintenance than some other materials. In other words, do your research before settling on a deck material to find the one that’s best for your pool.
