"Most people only go mattress shopping once every ten years or so, and it is not fun trying to buy something that you're going to use almost everyday for the next ten years, but the only true way to test it out is to have it in your home.
I spent 3-4 hours over several days in their show room trying and re-trying different mattresses.  Darby Hiott, the owner, was very helpful.  He answered all of my questions, but did not hover while I spent all of this time in his show room.  He knew his products intimately and could easily explain the differences between all of the mattresses and why they were priced the way they were.  All of the members of his staff were polite and helpful.
It was a very relaxed and stress free buying experience.  I feel that I got a very good price on my purchase and will be back in the future for other furniture purchases.  I have been very happy and satisfied with my purchase.

"I have an expensive leather sofa and matching chair that were in desperate need of new padding. I was contacted right away and given a quote that was acceptable. Kerry came to my home the next day and performed the service ... no hauling furniture back and forth! My couch and chair are just like new! I highly recommend Professional Furniture Services!"

Upholstering questions, answered by experts

You should consider the time needed to clean and prepare your bedroom set for transit. A few days before moving, vacuum, dust, and clean your furniture with a mild cleaning solution. Depending on the movers and the services you pick, you might need to pre-pack the mattress and box spring in boxes designed for beds and disassemble some furniture by removing doors and hardware. Finally, don’t forget to take plenty of pictures documenting the pre-move condition in case you need to file a claim.

DIY upholstery is feasible for simple pieces with the right tools and skills, though intricate jobs typically require professional expertise for the best results.

Craftsmanship begins with detailed design followed by skilled artisans shaping high-quality materials into the desired furniture, ensuring durability and uniqueness.

Furniture made from materials resistant to sun fading includes metals like aluminum, stainless steel, and wrought iron, as well as certain synthetic materials like polyethylene (commonly used in outdoor wicker furniture) and resin-based products. Glass tables and accents are also sun resistant. These materials inherently withstand UV rays and are less prone to fading or discoloration. Furniture with UV-resistant coatings or finishes, such as powder-coated metal or UV-protected plastics, offers enhanced protection against sun-induced fading.

As with any project, weighing the pros and cons of upholstery can help determine if that is the right choice for you. The ultimate question is whether it’s worth reupholstering instead of buying new furniture. Here are a few of the benefits and disadvantages of reupholstering a piece of furniture.

Pros:

  • Preserving a family heirloom

  • Maintaining high-quality furniture in good condition

  • Reinventing an old piece of furniture

  • Keeping a piece of furniture from going to a landfill

Cons:

  • Spending (possibly) more than to buy a new piece of furniture

  • Finding out the frame is beyond repair

  • Waiting for the reupholstery work to be done
