Concrete Concepts is a small business with only two full time employees and owner who is onsite of every job keeping the cost as low as possible without letting the craftsmanship suffer in the smallest way. Our most important duty day after day is to insure the satisfaction of the customer. Payments are never due prior to completion of said job

"I found Kevin’s name through Angie’s list, and while he had many great reviews, I was still uneasy because I had read that there are a variety of factors that affect the quality of masonry work: the primary one being the expertise of the concrete installer. I called three people and two got back to me. In fact, Kevin called me immediately after I emailed asking for information. Once we agreed on the work, he updated me on the plans through regular phone contact. He was punctual and brought workers who were friendly and respectful of us and our property. Throughout the whole process, Kevin kept us informed and invited us to ask questions. Kevin uses high quality concrete that is not purchased from big box stores. Furthermore, it was evident throughout that he is knowledgeable about the work and strives to maintain his reputation for excellence. He repaired various holes in our basement floor including one that was large and deep. Paying strong attention to detail, the repaired concrete is level and free of depressions. It’s an old floor that could not be skim-coated, but Kevin truly restored the floors functionality. AND, he and his workers left it cleaner than they found it! (He also found a creative use for the concrete he had left over!) I will definitely be keeping his business card."

Concrete Repair questions, answered by experts

Yes, foundation problems can cause ceilings to collapse or even your whole house to crumble. Left unaddressed, natural sinking can build up and eventually harm your home’s supporting structure, such as walls, beams, and frames. Your basement ceiling may be the first place to look for signs of a ceiling collapse caused by foundation problems.

You could DIY the work, but unless you have plumber’s knowledge for identifying and fixing a slab leak and specialized equipment in your tool shed, attempting to DIY your slab leak repair isn’t a good idea. It’s simply not something that the average homeowner can take on themselves, regardless of how many successful DIY projects they’ve got under their belt. You could, however, do something simple like foundation waterproofing yourself to save some money on the post-repair work.

Regular inspections, proper drainage management, and ensuring soil stability help prevent future settlement issues.

The best way to determine if ceiling cracks are structural is to hire a ceiling contractor to inspect the cracks and provide a professional opinion. That said, you might be able to make an educated guess based on the size and appearance of the crack. Larger cracks, cracks accompanied by sagging or discoloration, and cracks that travel from the ceiling down the walls are all signs of structural issues.

Most houses are expected to settle over time, but foundation sinking of more than a few inches or uneven sinking of more than an inch for every 20 feet is cause for concern. Any significant or uneven sinking should be assessed by a professional to determine the cause and perform any necessary repairs.
