Once we settled on a date and time for service, it went very smoothly. He arrived on time, finished a little faster than expected, and the work quality was good.

Couldn't be better. I contacted Jay to discuss my dream of acquiring a whole house generator but had not really done my homework before calling him. Jay's patience answering all of my questions and helping me understand my options was far above and beyond the call of duty! Throughout the discussions when I was leaning towards making a decision he always provided the information I needed helping me to understand how my decision would play out in the years to come. He never pressured me to make any decisions, instead he simply offered his knowledge as I needed it. Once I chose my generator he identified a great website to purchase from saving me $$$$. When it arrived he came to the house to place it where I wanted it installed and then coordinated the entire installation process including bringing in a great plumber to hook the generator to my natural grid gas line. After the installation was complete he stayed with me helping me understand how the system runs and simulated a series of power outages so I would have first hand knowledge of a power loss. Absolute top shelf businessman.

Asked to inspect for outdated electrical wiring in the attic so that insulation could be installed, Jay visited our house, went to the attic and stated that there was none to be found there. In response to that information, our energy auditor emailed a picture of the outdated wiring (knob and tube) within 2 feet of the attic entrance.

Jay is the only electrician I'll ever use. I had multiple bids on some large projects on a newly purchased fixer upper and his was the most reasonable bid by far. He has been extremely flexible on when he can do the work, is knowledgeable and is a pleasure to deal with. We hired him for small projects, from installing fans to bringing electricity to the garage. He is now working on our kitchen project. I needed a last minute wiring job done before the kitchen got started and he was kind enough to accommodate me, even with short notice. After our multiple encounters, I have come to trust his recommendations and feel confident I am getting quality work at a fair price. I don't plan on looking elsewhere should I need more work done in the future. Can't recommend Positive Energy Electric enough.

Jay responded quickly to my request for an appointment to get an estimate, and he showed up at the scheduled time to take a look at the knob and tube, as well as some other small electrical issues that I was having. I found him to be knowledgable, professional and easy to talk to on this initial visit. He had an estimate to me within two days (a quite reasonable one given the amount of work and potential problems that he could encounter once the work began), and then worked around my complicated schedule to find a time that worked for both of us to complete the work. On the days we had scheduled, he and his colleague showed up on time and worked hard and behaved professionally. They checked in with me before making any extra holes in my ceiling, problem solved efficiently and effectively with each new problem they encountered once they accessed the wiring, and took extra time to be sure that they returned my furniture to its original location and that my floors were swept and everything was tidy before leaving. The work was completed in the time that Jay had estimated, and the price he charged me was exactly what he had estimated as well, in spite of the unexpected challenges of the job. I felt comfortable asking Jay and his colleague questions, and they both took the time to explain things to me fully. It was an overall great experience working with Positive Energy. I will hire Positive Energy in the future if/when I need electrical work, and I will recommend them to my friends.

Our home was damaged in a storm on 8/4/15. A tree had fallen and pulled our power lines off of the house. National grid was not able to reconnect service until damages were repaired from electrician. I called Positive Energy the next morning to see if they could come do repairs. They were wonderful and came out for same day service! Jay Laury and his partner did all the necessary repairs and were able to get permit for us allowing national grid to reconnect service. I have already recommended this company to one family and would highly recommend to others.

Jay was awesome! Our smoke detectors started going off intermittently (every 30 minutes or so for 3-4 minutes at a time, with no way to silence them) at 11 p.m. on 7/20 (needless to say, we didn't get much sleep). On 7/21, I called many electricians and Jay was the only one who could commit to coming that day. The smoke detectors haven't made a peep since he installed the new ones. Our home is peaceful once again! We would definitely call him again!

After I purchased the Angies Deal, I did not hear back from the company for a week. I then got in touch with them and asked if I was available that day for them to come. On such short notice I was not available and suggested 3 other days. I never heard back from the company. I ended up requesting a refund for services and will use a different company in the future.

When we lost half our electricity in our home we turned to Angie's list for reliable, trustworthy electricians. We chose Positive Energy from the list because of all the wonderful reviews. They did not disappoint. Two electricians, Jay (owner) and Dave showed up on time, did a first-rate job of replacing our 86-year old electrical panel and fixing our other electrical problems. They were very professional and conscientious in their work. They finished ahead of schedule and did not leave until everything had been checked, cleaned up and explained to us. They even made sure our plant light will continue producing beautiful orchids. We heartily recommend this service to our family and neighbors. It was a pleasure to do business with such hard working electricians.

Our old house has a mix of old and newer wiring throughout like a maze. Jay, his partner and their associate arrived early in the morning, untangled it all, saw what was needed and suggested the best solutions. They went at it and worked hard all day to get it all done so that we could have insulation blown into the attic the next day. They have a great team and had to coordinate and communicate with each other from the basement to the first floor and second floors up to the attic to get everything just right. We can't say enough good things about them, they are hard working, conscientious and more than fair and square in their price, they are great guys too!

I am in the process of having my home vinyl sided. I need to hire an electrician to rewire the outside lights. I contacted Jay because of his positive reviews on Angie's list. When I called him he was very responsive and polite. He said he'd be by that day to take a look. He didn't show up but he called and told me he could come on the following Monday. On Monday when he didn't come I called him and he said he was nearby and would be right over. He arrived when he said he would and took a look at what I needed. He seemed very knowledgeable and indicated that he could do the work before my siding contractor would be back to install the siding. He promised to email me with an estimate later that week. When I hadn't received anything, I called him the following week. He got right back to me and assured me he would send something before the end of the day. As promised I received the estimate. I had a question which he answered promptly. I decided to hire him and asked him to put us on his schedule. I have not heard from him since. I tried calling this week because my siding contractor is ready to begin but he is not returning my calls. I am confused and disappointed. Up until this point he had been responsive and professional. I don't understand why he gave me an estimate and indicated that he'd be able to do the work within the time frame that was required and then left me in the dark. Unfortunately I've wasted weeks on the electrician and now I am left to scramble to find someone to come at the last minute to complete the work. I don't even know where to begin. I do know that I will not be consulting Angie's List because the professionals that I've contacted through here have been extremely disappointing.

This job ran through the fall and winter because of all the work other trades people had to do. In addition to the quality work, Jay and his crew were very responsive to the uneven scheduling he had to work around.

The inspection was thorough and the work was performed quickly,efficiently and very neatly. We were very happy with the quality of the work and have hired them to come back and remove the old wiring from our attic.

Excellent experience with Positive Energy. I would recommend them highly.

Showed up on time, he quoted me 4 hours at 120/hr before the job was done. Thats exactly what he charged me. I'm very happy with the work.

Jay delivered services as promised. He was professional, polite, friendly and left without making any mess. I could not ask for more. I would recommend him and would hire him again.

How ever i will say that they are not the best finishing guys on the market. I've had to go through the house an tighten some screws on some of the outlets when left a mess in the side of the yard.

The inspection was for safety checking in order to restore the electric meter. The bad tenant have stolen electric by not setting up their own electric account but manipulate the meter themselves and later caught by National Grid. National Grid removed the meter. Positive energy electric Inc have done the inspection for me quick, they arrived on time, charged a reasonable price. I am satisfied with the result.

I have known the owner of Positive Electrical for years. If you hire him you will not regret it. He is very good at what he does. he has done work for many of my friends and they have all been happy with him and his crew. They are punctual, neat workers and stay within the bid. No surprise extra cost's here. I highly recommend Jay and his crew!!

Excellent and worth the money

We had just moved a couple weeks earlier & our dryer's plug did not match the current type of outlet. I called a couple different electricians & left messages but I believe when you say you just need one outlet installed it's not worth their time, so I never got a call back. Fast forward to Positive Energy, I accepted the first appointment offered which meant waiting another 2+ weeks but when they realized we could not do laundry it was quickly changed to accommodate us. I had also bought a new dining room chandelier that needed to be installed. Within the week I had both items taken care of! Jay was professional and his company was friendly to communicate with. We WILL definitely be calling Positive Energy in the very near future.

Phenominal! I wouldnt have anyone else come to the house now. Jay was proficient, on time and got to work right away. Also discussed next steps for some other work I need to do.

Jay and Dave arrived as scheduled. It was a very cold day and they worked diligently to make sure that the power was off for the shortest period of time possible. They worked quickly and efficiently. Everything was cleaned up after the job was finished. Jay took the time to talk with me about the job, which I appreciated. Through the entire process, estimate to the end of the job, Jay kept in touch with me. This is a provider I feel I can heartily recommend to my friends. I plan to call Jay again for the next electrical project around my house and recommend him to the Angie's list community as well. Very happy with the service.

Jay was an absolute pleasure to deal with. He was polite, punctual , and fair. He installed a ceiling fan in my sons room. The job turned out to be much more detailed then he had expected due to structural issues with my house. He never tried to charge me more or take any short cuts. The fan looks great and works as expected. We are very happy we found Jay, and will use him again in the future.
