Jay did an excellent job. I live in an old historic house that needed an outlet near the back door. Jay was very resourceful in his efforts to install the outlet. I plan on having Jay back for more electrical work.

Positive Energy Electric, Inc. is owned by Jay Laury master electrician. I have been dealing with Jay for approximately six months and he said he will do a job and he does complete the job. I hired Jay for three different jobs over six months and he has come through again and again. Jay has completed two jobs for my in-laws and they are very pleased with him. Jay's work is professional and he has good customer service skills. Today, it is difficult to find a good contractor in any area of home improvement. However, you will see that Jay is an excellent electrician with good troubleshooting skills. I would recommend him to anyone seeking a good electrician.

Jay is the definition of professional. He returns calls, shows up when scheduled, and completes work as promised. We will use him for all of our electrical work in the future!

We recently hired Jay and he was very professional. He installed two outdoor security lights, fixed our bar lights, fixed our outdoor outlet and installed a bathroom vent fan with Bluetooth speaker. He did a nice clean job, was fast and cleaned up after himself. We now have our go to electrician for future projects! We were super impressed.

I contacted a number of electricians to see about removing the existing knob and tube wiring in my house. Jay from Positive Energy was one of the few that contacted me promptly. He came to the house to look over the project, and provided me with a written estimate the following day. The project involved removing all the old wiring that was remaining on the second floor and attic (the previous homeowner had also blown in cellulose insulation over the knob and tube wiring -- so this was going to be a messy job). My house is a 1921 bungalow with original horse-hair plaster and I was worried that there would be extensive damage to the plaster in order to run the new wiring. However, Jay was able to run the new wiring up through the walls without damage to the plaster. He also installed new receptacles and switches throughout. In addition to removing the knob and tube wiring, i had a number of older light fixtures replaced; new wiring installed in the dining room; and had the refrigerator put on its own circuit. The work areas were cleaned up at the end of each day. Jay understood that I was on budget and did not try to upsell me on additional upgrades. However, once the project started I asked him to run a list of items that should be addressed in the future. The entire process took about 2.5 days -- and I couldn't be happier with the results. In fact, I plan on using Positive Energy Electric for additional upgrades in the near future.

I wasn’t satisfied with how quickly they got back to me. I understand that they’re busy and they likely overcommitted. I had to get a refund.

Jay was great and I am very pleased with the job. I had a bathroom switch that operated a basement light, and Jay ran a new line to separate the basement light from the bath. He will also install a switch for the basement light when he returns for another job. He was here most of the day and I said that part of the job could wait. He made sure my bath fixtures were protected with tarps. He needed to cut some of the plaster to fit in the new fixture and 3-switch outlet, and cleaned everything up before he left. I asked him about other jobs I was considering and he was very honest to tell me which ones would add value to my home and those that would not. We already discussed the job I want him to do next, and will schedule that within the next month or so. I will also recommend Jay to my neighbors. This was the best experience I've had with an Angie's List service provider.

They arrived approximately on time with a team of 3 people. They very quickly got the new service installed. I had cranked up the heat before they arrived to make sure the house wouldn't cool down too much (this was mid-winter) but by late morning or early afternoon the service was put together enough to turn the power back on, which was impressive. They were a little disorganized, supposedly because their usual truck was unavailable. One team member had to run out to get parts that they usually have on hand. They hadn't yet pulled the permit to do the work. They also forgot some of the details of what I wanted done and I had to remind them. One of the outside outlets wasn't installed quite straight in the box, which I discovered a week later when I went to install some Christmas lights. They also left a little more slack in one of the new circuits than I thought they should. That said, one team member stayed late to make sure all of the circuits were labeled properly. They put in extra effort to make up for lost time from the lack of parts to make sure that all the work was completed. They split the cost of the permit after they found out it was more expensive than planned. The work also all did pass inspection. Overall, the price was right, they did the work when I needed it to be done, and they worked hard to make up for parts of the install that weren't optimal.

Jay did a good job overall but had to come back twice because he did not have the supplies with him and did not complete everything on the house inspectors list to specification. He was on time and very approachable.

Jay was really helpful. I have a larger master bath with a cathedral ceiling and no fan or attic access. I researched and got a 150CFM Panasonic fan with light. He mounted the fan in the center of the peak of the ceiling, cut the hole for fan placement and attic access, cut a 6" wall ventilation hole in the exterior, and connected the ducting and exterior wall vent which I provided myself. My existing bathroom light switch was on the wall outside the door, he reversed the switch with a new box and added a lighted switch for the vanity lights, timer switch for the fan, and dual switch for the fan's light and nightlight. He had to do an additional small access hole in the ceiling to run the wires up through the wall, then out and across the ceiling joist to reach the fan. He had to use 2 wires - a 14/2 and a 14/3 for the fan and 2 lights. The only work I had to do after his job was some additional drywall patching and painting. I also changed the order of the switches because I decided I wanted them different after installation. I am having my roof replaced in June and will check once again when the roof decking is removed to see if the vent duct needs any adjustments. I am handy electrically but this was a job I could not have completed myself. Very good experience overall, and you can't beat the price!

Jay arrived on time, he was very professional, very helpful and walked us through the whole process of plugging in the generator and using the transfer switch. The generator we purchased (from Home Depot) ended up being a faulty unit so we weren't able to get it running but he took time to help us try, and when we realized it wouldn't work he helped load it into our truck and told us to let him know if we had any difficulty getting everything running on the replacement (it worked perfectly). Would definitely hire him again!

It went excellent and he was very pleasant! It was money well spent. I had motion sensors not working that now work and had bathroom and kitchen switches that were not working and he fixed those. Whatever i needed done he did it, i was very pleased. He did it all in two hours. He might be my new electrician, He didn’t waste any of my time time and he was very polite.

Jay Laury was great from beginning to end. I had originally contacted him over a year ago to install a fan. The job was a little challenging because the ceilings in my home are about 16 feet. When I was ready to have the work completed, Jay remembered the job and kept to his original quote. Jay was professional, quick, and great throughout the install. The fan looks great and I couldn't be happier.

Everything went well he showed up on time performed the work as we talked a little bit. I would use him again this year.
