"Courtesy and responsive service. Placed order for inspection and cleaning of 2 chimneys @ $149 / chimney. Technician inspected and cleaned one chimney. Upon inspection of second chimney, technician explained the chimney had a triple liner that and the fireplace had hardly used and the chimney did NOT need the be cleaned, yet I was charged the same as I was charged for the chimney that was inspected AND CLEANED. When I asked why, he said that?s what was on the order. I also found it strange that the technician said that if I paid cash, I wouldn?t be charged tax."
"Two men came ,they inspected and cleaned the chimney replaced the damper showed me how to use it, and repaired the base of the chimney after inspecting it and explaining why it needed to be done. They were quick, polite and answered all my questions."
"Customer service was great, had some masonry repairs done for a good cost, while they were here they did my cleaning and inspection on my chimney. Will be hiring them to do my annual yearly. Great summer prices!"

You should avoid walking on a slate roof. Though the material is highly durable, it can crack under the pressure of your feet, and the surface of the slate tiles can become extremely slippery when they get wet. Walking on a slate roof is, therefore, more dangerous than walking on something like asphalt shingles, both in terms of personal injury and property damage. If you do have to work on your slate roof, hire a pro. Most contractors use special equipment to avoid putting pressure on slate tiles.
A porch roof will be prone to leaking if it suffers damage from extreme weather events, or if it was improperly installed and waterproofed from the get-go. In some cases, a porch roof will be leaky simply because it's at the end of its lifespan and needs to be replaced. Proper maintenance and promptly repairing damage from high winds and hail will help keep your porch roof from leaking.
Patching a rubber roof requires finding a leak that is most likely identified by inspecting the attic. Get a strong flashlight and inspect the underside of the roof. Look for mold, wet spots, or dark, discolored areas. Check for degrading insulation, which tends to break down faster than wood. Inspect vents and seals and keep an eye out for small punctures coming through. The leak could actually be several feet away from where you find the water damage because of how water flows or gets diverted. In dry weather, spray the roof with a hose while someone else watches for leaks inside the attic.
If you see rust spots or streaks or any physical damage to the chimney cap from the ground, you should hire a professional to inspect and replace it. If it’s safe to get up on your roof or near your chimney cap with a ladder, you can perform a closer inspection to identify issues. Additionally, if you know your chimney cap is nearing the end of its life—usually five to ten years—or you’re seeing evidence of water damage or pest infestation in your chimney, it’s a good idea to replace the cap.
In many areas, chimney repair companies need to be licensed, but it depends on your state and local municipality. You can check with your local building department to see if companies need licenses, and then you can use Angi’s license lookup tool to confirm that the company you’re considering holds the proper license. It’s a good idea to confirm that the professional is fully insured, and you can ask about certification from organizations like the Chimney Safety Institute of America (CSIA). These certifications aren’t mandatory, but they help ensure a professional repair.
