Gary, JoAnn and their team were excellent! They helped us navigate through the selection and purchase of the insert, these things are not inexpensive and they were very upfront about all of it, we never felt pressured. The install process was quick and very clean, absolutely no mess when they left. The insert is awesome. Highly recommend these folks, we would absolutely work with them again!

Recently purchased a Mendota fireplace unit. Worked directly with the owners, Gary and JoAnn Richardson, to select best model for our home. We found they were knowledgable and quite helpful to assist us with important decisions regarding fireplace features and proper placement in the room. Gary, who is a certified installer, did the entire project including installation of the unit, gas line connection, venting, carpentry and drywall. He is very skilled in this specialized work. Our township required 3 project inspections and all were approved with no exceptions. We recommend this company for any fireplace or stove project.

He took the time to explain and show me what he suggested needed repaired, and was very thorough in also ensuring my gas fireplace worked or if I would need a new pilot. Wonderful. JoAnn and Gary were delightful from the beginning. Their shop was cozy (they even had a friendly dog!) and they were extremely professional. We trusted them in our house and they installed the stove with ZERO mishaps or mistakes. We would absolutely purchase a wood stove and have it installed by them again.

The owner and a assistant arrived on time and ready to start. Work performed in an excellent manner. Clean to the extreme considering the work being done to existing fireplace of 20+ years. They finished in 6 1/2 hours doing a retrofit! Very Pleased.

Gary was good at communicating arrival times, he and Anthony obviously knew what they were doing, got right to work, and got the job done. They were especially clean with tarping and at managing air flow so that dust was always directed out of the house with a chimney top mounted blower. Their work was first class, they didn't cut corners, cleanup was great, and they were pleasant to have around the house. Due to Gary's recommendation and installation we now have a safe furnace in the basement and a great fireplace in the living room. We love it.

After about a year of non-use, our wood stove wasn't drafting properly, making the house smell like a campsite whenever we tried to use it. Once the chimney sweep was here, it was less than 30 minutes before he diagnosed an abandoned squirrel's nest as the cause and then worked for the next 45 minutes to clean out the chimney of all debris. He was very knowledgable, showed us images of the nest and walked us through the process. He also outlined some long-term work that we might want to consider but in a realistic, reasoned no-pressure way. The only issue we had was that there was some miscommunication as to the time of the appointment, but it was a situation where our original time slot was changed around. Wasn't the end of my world and we'd definitely have him back. Lagniappe? He's really, really, really good with dealing with the household dog, which is good because ours is overly friendly and very curious.

Gary and Anthony showed up at 8:00, just as Brandy scheduled. Both gentleman immediately started working. I left them alone at my house and went to my office. I returned at 12:30 for lunch the insert was installed, the flu liner was hung and Gary was finishing installing the multi-flu cap. Anthony was vacuuming my basement, leaving the space cleaner than they showed up. They walked me through the stove operation and answered all my questions in an honest and forthright manner. Gary was hyper focused on cleaning his boots every time he entered my house, he always treats my home with a lot of respect. Since this is my first wood burner, I asked Gary to take a look at my wood to make certain I was seasoning the wood correctly. He provided a couple of clarifying thoughts and a few pointers. As I was leaving, Gary made sure to remind me to call him with any additional questions. I left him to lock up the house when he was finished cleanup. I've been very impressed with the entire process, from no pressure sales to honest and transparent communication. Gary is a highly skilled tradesman focused on detail, maintaining a clean working environment and making sure you feel comfortable with the process, install and operation of your appliance. JoAnne and Brandy both answered minor clarifications during the scheduling. I will hire them for upstairs flu upgrade.

Gary showed up on time and was very polite, professional and knowledgeable. He looked over my floor plan, discussed various options including false registers, blowers and using existing duct work. We spent considerable time discussing the liner, which was a main concern of mine. He examined the flue, completed a detailed diagram measuring the existing fireplace firebox and chimney cap. I have always been a fan of pacific energy stoves and he's a dealer. He was a very pleasant individual with which to communicate. While he was measuring, he asked me about my motorcycle and we talked about working in small family businesses. Instead of answering a question without knowing all the details, he's willing to look up the data before answering -- a true tradesman! Can't wait to get the quote back and move forward with installing my Pacific Energy Summit!
